Ordered dinner online for pick up. Order was ready on time and nice and hot when I got home! Ambiance is definitely lacking inside of here however the food?!? SO GOOD! I had the samosas, Veggie Korma, and a order of butter nann. I would order all of them again and can't wait to explore the rest of the menu!

Hidden gem alert this is my first time here a good friend of mine recommended this spot for good traditional Indian food let me tell you it didn't disappoint right when you walk in great customer service everything was clean and I absolutely love how you can slightly see the chefs cooking in the kitchen with the wonderful atmosphere of the Indian music videos being played on the TV. My friend and I we ordered a strawberry lassi which was delicious then we made sure we ordered the fish Pakora which didn't disappoint at all. The flavoring on the fish had such a burst of delicious flavors with the two sauces, one of them being on the sweeter side, the red sauce and the green sauce being more on the cooler side like fresh cilantro so delicious 10 out of 10 I had the butter chicken. It comes with rice and when I tell you, I felt like I couldn't stop eating. It was so good. The portions are really a good size as well. You'll have leftovers but the butter chicken the spices were outstanding 10 out of 10. My friend, she had the fish coconut curry, which I tried as well it was so delicious the ginger in the dish set it off and I was so impressed by the fish cooked perfectly in the sauces 10 out of 10 If you haven't stopped by, I would recommend you coming with your family on a date or by yourself. This place is outstanding and it is a hidden gem also 5% off anyone that pays with cash! I will definitely be coming back like I said again 10 out of 10

The flavor of their food is consistent since the last time I gave a review (we have ordered here for several times). Although we noticed one thing which has changed, it is their portion size , but it's to be expected these days in this economy. We still love their butter chicken, Saag Paneer, goat curry and garlic naan! Love the sweet pudding/lentil dessert that they gave to cool down after a spicy meal! All in all, we will always come back to this place.

Lamb chop was not as tender as I thought it would be. The seasoning was ok though. The pasanda with mushroom is the highlight. It was delicious. The Manchurian was a disappointment. I think they fried it from frozen pieces? One of the piece was still cold inside.

This is a small place, with a capacity of maybe 50 people sitting. It is not pretentious, it is authentic. We were greeted by Aisha, very sweet and amicable waitress. She kindly offered us different levels of spice, and brought our drink orders very quickly. She gave us descriptions of the dishes so we could be more comfortable deciding on what to order. I love the beautiful silver bowls and servers. Then we tasted our food and it was extraordinary. We have eaten at several Indian restaurants but the flavors in this place are like none other. We all agreed it was the best Indian food we have ever had. The curry flavors were classic and amazing with an extra "lovable" little something, not sure if it was the lemongrass topping, but it was delicious. Now this has become my favorite Indian restaurant, so whenever I come back to this area I will for sure eat here again.

Best Northern Indian food in town. No contest. They have a fantastic selection of curries. They make the best naan with the fluffiest texture. Most restaurants usually only have regular or garlic naan, but Bayleaf has a variety to choose from including aloo naan, chili naan, gobi naan, and more. They also have plenty of seafood and vegetarian options. I have tried several dishes including their vegetable samosa chaat, chicken tikka masala, mushroom pasanda, and saag paneer. Everything is fragrant and delicious. The perfect blend of spices. We've ordered take out and dined in. The portions are generous, so you will definitely have enough food for an extra meal the next day. The only critique I have is that they give plastic water bottles for water rather than cups of ice water when you dine in; it would be nice if they could change this to reduce plastic waste. Service is attentive and friendly. Even if you live in Austin, it is worth a drive up to Round Rock to try their food.

Came back for the 2nd time and had an equally pleasant experience as my first visit. The samosa were great and the sauces served with it just elevate them! All the different dishes we ordered were great, I ordered extra spicy for the vindaloo and feel like it was still somewhat mild in my opinion but the flavors for each dish were great. I think the madras was the favorite for both me and my partner! Naan is great. Love watching the Bollywood on the TV in the background. I'll be back.

Tried the Malai kofta and garlic naan when we came in a second time. Orders were slightly backed up due to multiple big party tables at dinner time on a Saturday evening. But the food was worth the wait - piping hot, delicious curry and very fresh, soft, crispy naan. Still holds the title of my favorite North Indian restaurant in Austin!

Such an intimate and cozy place upon first walking there. The service was attentive, even as I asked the waiter a million questions. We were seated right away and were promptly given water bottles. We ended going with the non-vegetarian meal for 2, which was good bang for your buck, For $48, you're able to choose 2 protein entrees, dessert, and a drink. Now onto the food: - Vegetable pakora: Nice and crispy. It went well with both the green and red sauces. - Chicken skewers: This was actually slices of ground chicken. Strong flavor, tender, and included a sweet sauce. - Chicken tikka masala: The mild was a good spice for me. Very good flavor and a lot less sweeter than a lot of other restaurants. The chicken was charred, which meant it was probably skewered first and then sauced. - Lamb vindaloo: Delicious and a good portion. The set came with plain naan, which was light and fluffy. My favorite way to eat it was dunking it in the tomato based soup that was also included. The kheer rounded out our dessert round with the perfect amount of sweetness. It was a very filling meal and we ended it with Chai - also included in the set! We left very full and very happy. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Forgot to take more pictures, but have to rave about this little gem in Round Rock. Everything was absolutely delicious. I have strange food requests sometimes and the chef even came out to talk with me and make some adjustments! Beautiful, delicious food, clean and bright seating, and service with a smile. Thank you Bayleaf crew!

I was quite excited to try out Bayleaf, but I feel I may have been led slightly astray. My expectation for excellent Indian restaurants are for them to have superbly flavored dishes, no matter what is ordered. Unfortunately, dining in here on a Saturday around 1:30pm, this was not the case. While certain dishes we had during lunch had stronger flavors than others within the same restaurant, ultimately I felt these dishes lacked desired depth of flavor, and were quite one note. At first, I thought this might be due to user error. For many dishes, you can specify "how spicy" you'd like it prepared. The options are "Extra Mild", "Mild", "Medium", and "Spicy" and generally correspond to increasing concentrations of capsaicin at many establishments. However, there are a few restaurants where "spicy" does not necessarily refer to capsaicin levels, but actually refers holistically to quantity of spices and herbs present, not just chilies. After dining at the restaurant, I wondered if Bayleaf fell into this category. However, after taking some of the curries I ordered home and having them as leftovers the following day, I can state with certainty that the preparation of the dishes at the restaurant failed to optimize release of the aromatics of the spices. However, after an additional 24 hours sitting in the fridge, the curries were decidedly more flavorful than what was served at the restaurant. It would be preferable to have the flavor experience at the restaurant, rather than after 24 hours. We opted for Hara Bhara Kabob, Chicken Malai Methi, Scallop Pasanda, Badam Milk, and an order of Roti. For the pasanda, a spicy level of "mild" was selected, and for the chicken malai methi, staff recommended to get that at a "medium" spicy level. Neither one ended up lighting any fire beneath my bum or on my tongue. The Hara Bhara Kabob (appetizer) appeared to be cakes of whole spices, spinach, potatoes, peas, and herbs, served with a tomato based accompaniment. The cakes appeared to be deep fried to a dark brown, almost burnt color. While they were not burnt, it did appear that the cakes were cooked too long such that the aromatics were no longer present. Imagine taking a bite of one of the kabobs, and finding whole pieces of star anise and green cardamom in your mouth while chewing---yet alarmingly being unable to taste the anise or cardamom at the source. Aside from the annoyance of having constantly remove whole spice pieces from my mouth, the texture of the cakes were nice. The light dusting of spiced salt on top of them was pleasant, and the tomato masala dipping sauce provided a nice contrast. The cashew half in the center of each was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the cakes themselves were relatively bland. Both the Pasanda and Malai Methi were equally one note. The scallops in the Pasanda were delicious, plump, and pretty juicy. The Pasanda itself had a very nice intense tomato flavor and pretty creamy, but overall it was very one note in terms of spices. The 24 hour takeout version had a better flavor profile. They both came with basmati rice. The chicken in the malai methi was also well cooked, plump, and not dry at all. Unfortunately, the flavor detected in the curry was primarily creamy. While there were cilantro, green onions, and fenugreek leaves (and I assume other spices), all those took a back seat; overall the curry was exceedingly one note bland. I was disappointed by this at the restaurant. However, after waiting 24 hours, the takeout version achieved much better flavor extraction while sitting in the fridge and surviving a brief microwave nuke. Roti: This was user error, I should have ordered a chaapati instead. Anyways, the roti seemed naan-like, except not as soft. It was rather thick, not thin. It was large, cut into 4 pieces, and more on the chewy side, rather than being thin, soft, and easy to tear. It was drizzled with some fat. I imagine it was ghee, but it didn't have that aroma. Badam Milk: Milk, almonds, green cardamom, and I suppose sweetened with some sugar, the resulting concoction was quite thick--much thicker than milk or cream, and it had a great flavor, truly the only item ordered that had achieved a great extraction from the spices. Water served at the restaurant is served as bottled water. You have a choice of chilled or room temperature water. Menus are viewed via a QR code displayed on the table. However, ordering is done with the staff members, not online. Booth seating is available along one wall leading towards the bathrooms, while the remaining tables in the room seat larger parties. There is also seating off to the side near the front windows of the restaurant. The kitchen is visible through a couple of large interior windows. Unfortunately, flavor at Bayleaf is definitely toned down, both capsaicin wise and in terms of spices. This is disappointing. In a small strip mall on a side road just off Louis Henna Blvd in Round Rock. Bayleaf has to be one of the hidden gems in central Texas! A notch above typical Indian restaurants decor. I've dined there close to ten times in the last two or three years. My favorite dish is korma. Love the lamb korma and the chicken korma. They have an extensive menu and everything is made fresh. The best Indian food in central Texas! Worth a drive!

One of the most memorable dishes we had was a special that our server highly recommended--and it was truly a showstopper. I wish I had gotten the exact name because I can't find it on their online menu, but visually and flavor-wise it was stunning. It came wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf, layered with rich, velvety saag, what tasted like thin dosa or chapati layers, egg, aromatic spices, tender chunks of meat, and curry, all melded together into this beautifully perfumed, steamy package. It was served with a cooling yogurt sauce and a chili sauce that balanced the heat perfectly. The presentation alone was gorgeous, and the flavors were deep, earthy, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the curry goat, which was delicately spiced with a wonderful, slow-building heat. The meat was tender, the gravy rich without being heavy, and it paired perfectly with the simple white rice that let the complex spices shine. The tandoori goat chops were the family favorite by far. Everyone loved the smoky char and bold marinade. Personally, I found them a bit softer than I prefer, but the flavor was outstanding--robust, well-seasoned, and unmistakably tandoori. Finally, we ordered the Tandoori Pomfret to go, and I had it later with rice porridge. It was absolutely scrumptious. The fish was fragrant, beautifully spiced, and still juicy, making it the perfect comfort meal with the warm, soothing porridge. Overall, Subham Chettinad Grill delivers authentic, soulful Indian cooking with layers of spice, heat, and aroma that feel both traditional and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for real South Indian and Chettinad-style flavors in Austin, this place is a must-try.

The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. To the chefs - please please please put the tomato dahl you have on your online ordering! I'd come here weekly to taste your version.
