The girl who was serving said the blackberry raspberry sorbet was her fave, so i had gotten one scoop of that. It was alright....... I think I just prefer creamy ice creams like gelato. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! All of the flavors are amazing and so are the waffle cones. Sticky rice is definitely my favorite but the strawberry sorbet is a very close second! After gorging myself on Indian Food from House of India, I opted for the single scoop child size strawberry gelato. YUM O YOM that hit the spot. That was the perfect size for me to satisfy my sweet tooth but not stuff myself with ice cream. It was one scoop for about $2 which is not too bad. The unfortunate part was that if you a re a fruity ice cream person, your options are strawberry and black raspberry. What a cute place! The Split Banana has great gelato and I love that they continue to bring new and exotic flavors! The gelato is super creamy and flavorful while the staff is super friendly--I tried almost half the flavors and never felt rushed to make up my mind. The best part about this place is that they make their waffle cones fresh throughout the day...so even at 8pm someone is making waffle cones and they're not stale! :) I eventually chose two flavors: the maple and the honey saffron. Anytime I'm in the area, I insist on making a trip to the Split Banana. All of their gelato is delicious and made there in house. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is cozy, inviting and playful (with a piano in the shop and card games on the table). HIGHLIGHT: Cocoa Ancho. It's spicy chocolate gelato, which is such a weird sensation that you have to try it. Other ice cream shops I've been to offer a Mexican chocolate - which usually means they added cinnamon, but Cocoa Ancho is different. It brings actual heat to the taste. read more

The portions are fairly generous for the price compared to other gelato shops I've been to. This place is great! I am usually not a fan of gelato because I think it's much too sweet, but the flavors are delicious! I went during St. Patrick's day weekend and they had a specialty flavor of Guinness beer. I didn't end up getting it, but did try a free sample and I don't know how you get beer flavored gelato but this tasted exactly like beer! It was actually very good! I ended up getting their coffee flavored gelato (I think it was called mocha cappuccino?) and was very impressed. I came back later in the year and had a waffle cone with their Hazelnut and Chocolate flavors combined and it reminded me of a Godiva chocolate truffle. I love the smell of waffle cones in the morning! Only during winter hours they don't open until noon, but don't worry, you can smell the waffle cones from the street :) Young (or was it Baby?) Ginger = major yum! Companions were happy with chocolate chili and cookies and cream, peanut butter cup, and the white chocolate lemon flavor of the month (January). The piano is well received (and in tune, bonus points!), and coffees and tea are appreciated. Wifi password is written on the glass partition in the back, but you'll have more fun if you ask an employee for a board game to try!
