This place is the bomb. Friendly service and great gelato, ice cream, and sorbet. To those complaining about small portions/high prices, you must not have eaten much gelato or good quality ice cream. This place isn't supposed to give you the quantity of your run-of-the-mill Hershey's ice cream joint, but for the quality of the product, the Split Banana is a great value. Also, they ingeniously calculate tax into their prices. So after you calculate tax into your 3.52 gelato, it comes out to an even 3.75. Great for those who pay with cash, and it's refreshing to see a place that doesn't buy into the annoying "_.99" philosophy. read more

This is my favorite Ice Cream place! I love the local ingredients and the staff are very nice and friendly. Wow, are we glad we took their advice! I got myself a tasty blackberry-raspberry/lemon shake, and my bestie had 4 different gelato scoops that complemented one another amazingly well. I know I won't get into town more than a few times a year, but I got a buyer card and had it punched anyway. And, while I had been striking out at getting cutesy tourist shirts for kids, The Split Banana had that covered, too, with super-cute shirt designs. As has been mentioned, they are located on a one-way street so parking may be a challenge during busier times ... but, park and have a nice stroll like we did! read more

The rotating flavors are divine and the prices are reasonable, too, for fresh and homemade deliciousness! I enjoy the fact that Nick selects local ingredients whenever possible. There are "usual" flavors but also very interesting concoctions that you can "try before you buy".
