We came to the Spot on Northgate for game day about 12:30. We are visiting College Station for the first time. Someone recommended the Dixie Chicken which had a huge line, but this was open, air-conditioned, had TVs going, and had food. Service was fast and very friendly. They do not have beers on draft, but several bottles. I had a Dos Equis "dressed" which means a line a salt on the side of the bottle. Be aware that they seem to allow vaping inside. There were a couple of guys doing that at the bar which can be kind of annoying. They do not have food inside, but a food truck outside with a QR code at the table. My brother and I had the "chopped Bevo sandwich" which was essentially beef brisket. It was very good with a generous portion of beef, but I wish I had ordered extra BBQ sauce. This got low reviews and some complaints about stolen credit cards, but we did not notice that. Then it has more of a late night vibe, but we had a great time hanging out here watching football before the game read more

We came for brunch on a whim. Took 40 min of standing in line to even order because there was only 1 gal at the register AND she was having to be the bartender too! 40 mins passed and still no food so we had to stand in the same line for another 30 mins to get a second drink. Now halfway through my second drink and guess what, still no food. Went here to watch the UFC fight this past weekend. There were easily at least 100 people outside watching definitely enjoyed that part of the night. However after being there for 2 hours I eventually needed to use the restroom. The only restroom is inside the bar and I went up to the door to ask to use the restroom. I was told I had to wait in a 20 minute line or my other option was to slip the door guy a $10. Obviously I didn't do this as it was ridiculous and clearly immoral. I was not the only person that had this issue. Just at the table I was at outside I heard 3 other people say they needed to use the restroom but would be forced to wait in the line to get inside. I'd definitely recommend investing in a porta potty or 2 for the outside area read more

Damn. I was hoping this would be good. I got a patty melt. Easy right? The burger made chili meat sound refined. I had to spit out chucks of ground gristle. Seriously. Half my burger was cartilage and gristle. Fries were homemade yet limp. Beer was "off" as I got a Hopidillo - tasted strange. And.... I was the only customer in a Thursday evening. Sigh. Too bad. I was hoping for a new Northgate place. Trust me - go to Duddleys or TheChicken for a cheaper and better made burger and fries. Sad. read more

LONG wait, POOR service, BAD establishment. A few of us went to The Spot to get some food and drinks. We first ordered food (standard food from the menu), and proceeded to wait nearly and hour and a half for food for five people. After inquiring multiple times, the food was finally brought out. It tasted decent, but certainly not worth the time to wait nor the price for pretty regular run of the mill food. After getting our food, we ordered drinks. These came in the large martini glass style glasses, and when tasted, it was clear there was little to no alcohol in these drinks. For $18 you expect to at least get some substance, but no. After asking the bartender about the drinks, we were basically told off. After a very disappointing experience with The Spot, I certainly will not be back. read more

I really enjoyed the meal I ordered. I got the grilled chicken plate with sweet potato fries off of their new menu. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with delicious spices. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries which were lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar. They were soft but not soggy and both savory and sweet which I enjoyed. The portions were perfect and the price was good. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time as well. I just wished they had more variety and healthier options on their menu. I try to eat gluten free pescatarian when I can but there were no options for that dietary need. Overall I'd go back if I'm craving grilled chicken because that was a very tasty dish! read more

We waited 20 min for coffee and no cream and sugar was brought with the coffee. 30 min later we still had not received the cream and sugar we asked for. Wait staff was also not attentive to the needs of dogs at a supposedly pet friendly place. No water bowl was provided for any of the dogs I saw there, luckily I brought my own water. Very disappointed with the service. Mimosas tasted like juice with very little champagne. The food we waited an hour and a half for was not good and not warm. read more

I loved this place and it's vibe. They are one of the only doggy friendly places around. All of the staff were very kind and attentive with our fury baby and would go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We really enjoyed our experience here and we plan on being back. We found the service was quick and friendly. Do be aware you have to order at the bar. We did know that but the floor man came to our table and kindly placed the order it for us. Brunch reviI love this place but they're definitively on the learning curve. Staff is always nice and food keeps getting better, but they clearly need to improve brunch logistics. I've been there twice for brunch and here are my points that would make it the brunch sport on northgate. - when getting seated the host didn't know if there was a wait or if there were tables open. It would have been easier to tell us to find a place to be seated. She seemed clueless - mango mimosas looked like mango powder drink mix. Would be simply better to use mango-sunny-d. Also it was served in beer cups that made it look laughable. - food took forever at least an hour to get to us, they clearly are understaffed or disorganized in the kitchen. Food was way better than the first brunch I went but still lacked polishing. Sides would look better on the entree plate and on a small bowl where it looks empty We had to repeat the order cause they didn't have a good record when we asked to check if it was ready. None of the servers seemed to know who ordered when they brought it out or charged us. We had to specify that the french toast come with everything because the last time they brought it plain without asking. The food tasted really good when we finally got it. After we finished eating it took a while to get service to get the check. It felt like we could just leave and nobody would notice/was paying attention. Summary: super friendly staff, good tasting food, bad mango mimosa, awful brunch managing logistics, long wait. It feels like there are no logistics/management design in the place. Not cheap either.
