Duck on rice from Milan. About 8 pieces of super greasy, reheated duck, 84 pounds of plain white rice, and barely cooked broccoli.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't what the Spot is. Walking up, I was disappointed to see the place empty and with a closed sign in the window. As I walked past to find a different lunch place, I saw a different door with an open sign in it, and noticed the "big crowd" inside. Popping in, I found four people. One looked to be taking pictures for social media. One was sitting at a table, one at the claw machine, and the last, very bored, at one of the counters. Not a great sign. So, the hall reminds me painfully of a mall food court. There are six ish restaurants along one side, lots of seating on the other, and it's literally otherwise a hall. A bar sits at one side, and that was indeed closed. The restaurants are little more than counters, and all have kiosks. Behind them is their presumably shared kitchen. The restaurants are all fast food style. You can order from any restaurant from any kiosk. I chose the Japanese restaurant Milan, and Gong Cha for boba tea (hi, my name is Joshua, and I'm a bobaholic). Gong Cha was good, Milan was okay, but I'm reviewing the space here. Oh, and one of the restaurants also sells cheap, $7 rings -- also a good sign. I did go to the restroom, and it was slightly terrifying. There's a sign over the urinals thats said "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING." I am not sure what that meant, but I was careful not to touch any surface in the filthy bathroom. You ever use a restroom and you contemplate whether washing your hands after is a net gain or loss? Gross. After eating, I asked the one staff member where to put my tray, which was a single trash can on the far area. None of the restaurants really impressed me, and they're all chain-like. I can get better food in lots of other places, without the mall kiosk feeling. Like traditional malls, this place is painfully dying.

Tofu Skin In Chili Oil and Black Fungus

I loved my meal at The Spot! It is so cool that you can order from multiple vendors at one kiosk. The food comes out quickly and I am already dreaming up another visit. At The Spot there are many vendors to support. Only one of the vendors seems to have vegan options. I wish that the menu items had ingredients listed so I hope what I ordered is truly vegan. There was an employee I asked about veggie options containing fish sauce. He gave me a bewildered look and said there was no fish sauce. I hope that information was accurate. I ordered tofu skin and black fungus from one vendor and white rice from another vendor. The total was about $11 and it was enough food for 2 meals. Such a great cheap option for a quick meal in Town Square. Both the tofu skin and black fungus are spicy!! The chili oil they use is perfection. When both appetizers are mixed with the white rice it mellows out the spice level perfectly. There are a couple other veggie appetizers I want to try such as the roasted peanuts and a cucumber option. Overall, the vegan options are not plentiful, but what is available is delicious!

This is a super cute, hip, casual Asian food hall (think food court but much cooler) in Rockville Town Center with something for everyone. Whether you want just a drink (alcoholic or not), a dessert, or an entire meal, you can find that that at The Spot. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Service depends on which food establishment you choose, but I have never had a bad experience.

The Spot has a variety of restaurants to choose from including boba and desserts. We ordered food from 3 vendors on one kiosk, as it is self serve. The food comes out in different times so you have to be on the lookout for your food. It is also pretty confusing to figure out where to pickup your food. We had to wait a long time for food when there was not many people since it was near 8 pm to the point where we had to ask for an update on our food to make sure it was still coming out. The skewers were absolutely delicious but the sushi did not taste fresh. Gong Cha is amazing as always. There is a 49 cent convenience flat fee that is charged for every transaction which every potential customer should know about. This convenience fee is pretty high for something unnecessary and is not disclosed until you check out, especially since it is self serve, self pick up, we had to clean the table ourselves, and put away our trays ourselves. There was also no toilet paper in the bathroom. Imagine paying for a $4 donut and it almost becomes $5 with this hidden fee on top of tax and tip, then you have to sit at a dirty table waiting to pick up your food. The free parking is very confusing as well, there are parking garages that are hard to find, then several elevators that end up in different locations. We ended up in a apartment complex then had to walk to the Spot, since there's limited guidance and directions from the parking garage to the Spot.

I love this Asian Food Hall! They've been open for about four years now and they change up the food stands every-so-often. I love that they have a variety of Asian food, from fried chicken and bubble tea to delicate homemade noodles and trendy mochi donuts! The food is fairly priced and all delicious! They also have a mini bar with Happy Hour deals

Nice decor I went in around 11:45am and from the looks of the place it seems like a nice hang out spot after work hours

I have been to the spot a few times. It's always a bit on the pricey side. But they have good stuff. We got my favorite Mian Pull noodles: Beef flank is usually what i get. The broth was great. Plenty of meat and some noodles but not a lot of broth. We also got some fried squid and ninja chicken nuggets. Small portions for the price but they tasted great. There is a lot of increased prices from what it used to be. Inflation am i right?

The gentleman handling the pick up orders was bleeding from the side of his head. He was holding a napkin against his head while packaging food orders with the other hand. No gloves. Very concerning and not sanitary.

Loud and dominated by high schoolers who frequent the area. No free wifi sadly, and if it is, it's not good. Some place is good, some needs more improvement. It's ok

Can you do takeout for the pulled noodles?

Yes, they separate the broth and noodles in separate containers.

They have a parking lot near by. There are also parking garages across the street at Rockville Town Center.

Do the bathrooms have changing tables? If not, is there an area that lends itself to open-air changing of diapers? 💩

Is there anything for children at The Spot, 2 & 4 year old?

Cheers Cut has a bunch of fried stuff (Taiwanese chicken cutlet, beef, etc.). Mian has beef noodle soups with little bowls available for parents to scoop out portions for their kiddos. I saw a bunch of families doing the latter when we were there…

Decent balance of ingredients in my ramen. I tried Child #1's soup and it was fine, though I will say whatever the mushrooms were (woodear, I think), they were fantastic, with a nice marinade and prepared so well. The rolls were fine. My sweet potato was clearly fresh-fried, so it was warm inside the rice, which was a bit surprising. On one hand, a bit crispier. On the other, hot sushi. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out relatively quickly. Prices were fair.

After waiting a while, our waitress finally came over and took our order. We ordered an appetizer first while deciding on our entrees. A few minutes later, the exact same waitress returned and asked if we wanted to order any appetizers, apparently forgetting that we had already done so. I specifically asked whether the salmon in the Philly roll was fresh or smoked because I don't like smoked salmon. I was assured it was fresh. When it arrived, it was clearly smoked salmon. The bao buns were actually pretty good, although the lettuce was wilted and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. A different server eventually took our entrée order. Less than five minutes later, that same server came back and asked if we were ready to close out our check, despite the fact that we were still waiting for our food and had not received our entrees yet. When the food finally arrived, the ramen was disappointing. The noodles were undercooked and the broth was excessively salty. The katsu curry was the highlight of the meal and was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the miso soup that accompanied it was overloaded with dashi powder and tasted overwhelmingly fishy. Which made sense with the overpowering fish market smell upon entering the restaurant. To top it all off, when we were ready to leave, the server brought the credit card receipt for signature but forgot to bring a pen. Between the repeated service mistakes, incorrect menu information, lack of attention to the table, and inconsistent food quality, I'm genuinely surprised this restaurant has managed to stay in business. There are too many good ramen spots out there to justify returning here.

There's a limit on nigiri/sashimi to one piece per order. What that means is that, when you put in your first (and subsequent orders), you can order one tuna, one salmon, etc nigiri/sashimi. That is a lot better than what I originally thought, which was one nigiri/sashimi total for each round. The variety in the AYCE is impressive. Lots of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, salads, soups, variety of appetizers (not all fried stuff!) and hibachi (beef, chicken and shrimp). Tonight, the food arrived pretty quickly after we put in an order. There was an issue toward the end of the evening when the app stopped working at our table and the table next to ours. The Staff did what they could to fix things; it did take about 20 minutes, though. I'm assuming this isn't typical.
