Trust me they ordered and got their food but I was still waiting for my bottle of water and still wanted to order a food. Just stopped in cause I heard live music and lots of people. Turned out to be a hidden California Fusion restaurant called The Stage. I was very impressed on the quick service, I was seated immediately. The place is surrounded by lots of greenery; trees, plants and flowers. A few days ago we were celebrating our son's first birthday at The Stage and got very disappointed with the service they have offered. The party has started at 5 pm but they brought the main dish probably at 7 pm which couldn't be normal. My guests had to deal with very very small portions of barbecue and I was very embarrassed for that in front of my 25 guests. Do not believe to their menu , cause they don't explain you in what sizes comes the dish, very tiny pieces and portions. Empty except for us at 11:00 on a Sunday for brunch. The butternut squash soup arrived in a large flattish plate with maybe a scant cup of soup ladled into it. When our friend dipped the side of her spoon into it, it covered only the edge of it. The price was about $7.00 for the soup. When we asked the waitress, she said she did not cook the food! However, to their credit, the chef did come out and listened to the complaint. 10 minutes later( kind of a long wait to ladle out soup) a nice, worthwhile amount of butternut soup came out. He also sent out a small appetizer sampler to us as a peace offering. Interesting atmosphere, but really I don't know how they can cover their expenses with only three tables for Sunday brunch. read more

This hidden gem is very nice. The eating area is in a garden setting really beautiful and refreshing. They also have music while you dine in he evening. This is a nice place to celebrate a special occasion. They have a large wine list not as much on the beer/ hard liquor options. Nice size menu not overwhelming. Food was great . My parents went here with a few friends for an evening and raved about what a good time they had, so I had to check it out. I happened to go during the day which I would say is the wrong time to go because my parents actually really enjoyed the evening entertainment. During the day it was super empty. I went during happy hour which offers $5 beers and some appetizers under $10. The appetizer plate was nothing special, but nicely displayed. My friend said her Chinese chicken salad tasted like the lettuce was old. I ordered a pasta dish and really liked it (can't remember what it was called but I posted a pic of it). Not a good night for them last night. I've only been here a couple times before and usually it's ok...but last night, We got seated at a table that had a swarm of mosquitos or something buzzing around. They were quite the nuisance for a while. The management couldn't do anything about it when I asked for help. This seems like a regular thing that happens here. I'm not sure why they don't invest in some citrus candles or bug spray. So that was weird. Then I noticed how horribly understaffed they looked. Seriously, there were only 2 girls managing the entire outside seating area....possibly the inside too??? 2 girls on a busy night and a manager that I saw walking around but not serving food. We waited a LONG time to get our order in and the server neglected to tell us they were out of an ingredient for one of the dishes. The whole dish was dry and didn't taste right. read more

First off, let's just get the stars out right out of the gate...5 stars for ambience. My bf and I used to go to the former nursery. Hello? The foliage, staging, and plants are spot on! 5 stars for an extra parking lot! There is ample parking. I guess the owner had to buy/rent the place next door as the nursery did NOT have this extra parking. Bonus: fountains, tiered privacy, and live music. All good. Service? very good. I'm going to deduct a half-point for having to order your food at an 'order window'. This isn't Foster's Freeze. The only reason why I gave it less stars is the food. The presentation was 5 stars. The food itself had no flavor. Apparently, the chefs have not yet take the "seasonings" class at their "culinary arts" school. Once the meals have some actual flavor, I will be more than happy to come back and bump up my ratings. There is a room in the back for stand-up comedy, Karaoke, or a special event party. Nice. The place has very good potential. The owner has done a lot right. Let's hope they step up the food. read more

Just moved to Burbank and we are exploring our neighborhood. We want to try all and find our favorites. We walked here and were greeted from a seated hostess who never got up. She was friendly enough and told us to sit anywhere and kind of motioned in a general area, she then mumbled something about tables that had two settings. We had no idea what area that meant as there were several areas in the beautiful venue. There was absolutely NO ONE in the area we supposed the hostess meant. We wandered around and found a cozy table that was not in the general direction but in a grouping of tables nearby. We sat down and a waiter came and told us we could not sit here and said, "that's why she told you to sit over there" Hmmmmm, I'm sorry I don't work here. He gruffly said, "This way" and sat us in the middle of the restaurant. I can't say more because we decided that this was not the kind of place we wanted to spend our anniversary. Over the summer I had my engagement dinner party here and I absolutely loved the experience and highly recommend hosting an event at the Stage. I really wanted a garden setting that could accommodate my party size of about 60 people and someone recommended this restaurant. Because it was the summer, they recommended that I go with the indoor space for the AC and DJ options but I was really set on the garden aspect and I'm really glad I stuck with it because it was stunning and cooled off by the time the dinner started. We didn't discuss how the tables would be set or organized, but when I arrived everything looked thoughtfully planned. I did bring in minimal centerpieces and origami decor, but even if I hadn't it would have been fine. The food was delicious and pricing is comparable to banquet style menus in the area. The food was a fusion of middle eastern / Mediterranean and beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating and easy going. Everyone had a great time and i would host another event here in a heart beat. You're not booking out the entire restaurant but because we had such a large party, the section was ours. If you go with the inside, you're guaranteed the entire space for your event and could have a DJ. It was just a little too dark/wine cellar-esque for what I was envisioning. read more

The stage is great!! I usually get the steak on the stone. It's raw filet mignon served on a searing hot stone. You get to cook it yourself! The presentation is perfect. I have never seen steak done this way. Very unique. I have to add, apart from the steak on the stone, the stage does have a very unique menu. Very european. Such as french onion soup and their stage palette. Its an assortment of various finger foods. Again the presentation is spot on. I heard that they just recently added beer and wine to the menu. I love this little place that's hidden but not really hidden in the heart of Burbank. Service is awesome and food is great. Love the desert options as well. First time here. I was invited and I'll go there only if I'm invited. This should speak itself. The food was ok, and more on the good side of the spectrum. The vibe was not good as well as the attitude of some workers. They bring orders wrong and at the middle of the party they just come up on your head and start collecting some food that was their mistake. Very unprofessional and low in class. They argued with me over this and that was not professional either. I wished they had a better training dealing with all sorts of customers. I had asked for 3 more skewers of chicken, and they come and pick up 3 finished skewers from table!! Are they short in new ones in the kitchen, or they want to use the same to minimize cleaning? Whatever the reason was, it could be the same for their mistake skewers that they came to take back right at the middle of our dinner. They could have made the correct skewers then exchange it with the pork ones that we did not order. In this way they would show up once at my head and exchange food over my head. The only thing I can imagine of them doing this is to Mohave to wash more skewers. And if I'm correct they are very stupid. I am writing this to help them not hurt them, and I hope they use it. As you can see not giving them a low star! It would be better to have some more dancing music and happier vibe because we were a larger party, but slow music was ok and romantic. My husband and I chose this place for an anniversary dinner. All the reviews indicated it would be a nice date night place. What the reviews failed to mention is that the majority of the restaurant is outdoors, and for a date night in December, it was a bit chilly. There is a small indoor area, but it was rented out for a private party, so they sat us on a large patio near a heat lamp. Unfortunately, the heat lamp was out of propane, so we had to wait for a new propane tank before we were warm enough. The service was very slow, which we attributed to the private party, so we were forgiving at first. When we finally ordered our appetizer, the server ran off to put the order in before we could order our drinks. The appetizer, a hummus dish, was delicious, but we finished it before the server came back to take our drink and main course order. When we finally were able to order, we discovered that the dish I wanted came uncooked and we would have to cook it ourselves on hot stones. I am not one of those people who enjoys cooking my own food at restaurants. So I asked if I could get a different dish, but with the brussels sprouts that came with the uncooked steak. The server said he would have to ask because the chef was picky about substitutions. While the server was away asking about substitutions, some people on the other side of the hedge from us started smoking - which I didn't think you were allowed to do at any part of a restaurant in Burbank. When the server came back to say the chef rejected our request for substitutions, we decided to call it a night and walked down the street to Gordon Biersch where they allow any substitutions, the service is fast, and they could seat us indoors. I might try this place again for a glass of wine on a summer night, but their wine prices were steep, so even then, I might suggest somewhere less stuffy and more affordable. read more

We celebrated our son's 1st Birthday at The Stage. Staff and management we're very helpful. Seating arrangements and food were set up on time. They gave me freedom to bring in kids entertainment and for vendors to set up rentals. Our guests were happy with the food selection and quality. Outdoors area is beautiful but in July it's hot. Was there last Saturday, the place didn't seem to be busy. Our waiter was Armando, and the only word I'd use to describe the service would be subpar. He was rude, inattentive, and took an hour and thirty minutes JUST to bring out the appetizers, and by the time they got there they were cold. During this time he never bothered to check up on us. Then here is it gets even WORSE! He brought the check and before he hands it to us he said "the tip isn't included". Well excuse you Armando, what made you think that YOU out of everyone deserved a tip? Either way I decided to leave a 10% tip, since we had people without from out of the country. Now if you thought what he had done before was bad, wait till you hear this! After he checked how much tip I left him, he chases us down the street, and says "usually you're suppose to leave a 20% or higher tip". Well Armando, maybe you should be nicer to your customers if you want a 20% tip. I'll NEVER step foot in this establishment again. IVE NEVER BEEN DISRESPECTED LIKE THAT. Location: not bad.
