Great spot that has some delicious salads, sandwiches and bowls. They have this focaccia bread that is TO DIE FOR! I've had the salmon bowl, which was cooked to perfection. The fish was buttery and the veggies complimented it perfectly. All of the salads the crunchy peanut, cilantro chicken, the cafe, Santa Maria bbq chicken, keto Cobb and the power veggie salad are allllll good options! You can even sub out the cheese for follow your heart vegan feta cheese which is perfect! My family really loves the Uc bahn mi and I loved the sweet chili crunch chicken sandwhich. I have one bad experience with the really good fish sandwich. It was obviously not fresh as it had dark spots in it and tasted not good. But other than that everything is top notch. The service is wonderful, very friendly and willing to help and even bring out water for the pup. They have lots of seating inside and out on the patio that is comfortable and adequate. Any reasonable person knows that every now and then a little greens is supposed to be good for you. Taking that advise I decided to eat a salad today. When ordering online there's plenty of options for a simple lunch salad, but if you want to actually enjoy the salad and feel the greens transform your body - you have to order the Santa Maria Chicken BBQ salad. Not only is this a healthy choice, it tastes really good. The combination of cranberry and ranch, chicken and cheese - wow. Pro tip: change the feta to mozzarella, remove the grape tomatoes, add chipotle sauce, and add avocado. This is the combination. Great food just super pricey which makes it hard to want to come here often lol. They do have a lot of healthy choices, everything seems fresh, lots of options for sandwiches and otherwise. Their aguas frescas was yummy. Service was really nice, if you eat there they take it to your table for you. And it's in a private parking lot so there is plenty of spots available. Again I overall really enjoy the food but it may be too expensive to justify eating here often. read more

I placed my first order online and it was super easy from the beginning to the end. I ordered the UC Banh Mi and my daughter ordered the Cranberry Brie but she substituted the turkey for chicken. You just select the location and time to pick up then pay online when you're done. Also, they gave me a free cookie since it was my first time ordering online. There were plenty of place to park since it was a shopping center lot. There are two spots at the front entrance but it was for curbside pickup. It was around 4:30pm on a Friday so it wasn't too bad to find a spot. Anyway, our order was ready and placed on the pick up shelf. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but after my recent experience, I will never order from here again. I received a salmon bowl that had live flies still moving around inside the food. It was absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. I was shocked that a restaurant I once trusted could serve something so unhygienic. I lost my appetite immediately and couldn't eat anything. When I contacted the restaurant, their response was disappointing -- there was no real apology or sense of urgency to fix the issue. Came here New Year's Day right out of a Barry's workout and starving. I came in wondering how filling this meal would be going off a friend's recommendation. Once again... I had a very pleasant experience at Urbane Cafe. This location is always spotless, the service is great and of course, the star of the show is their food. Never been here before, didn't expect much and the quality, the softness/freshness of the bread and meats, I honestly can't remember a sandwich I've had in my 57 years this good. There may have been a few, okay, but this is in the top 5 for sure. I had the Tri-Tip (hold the BBQ sauce, too sweet for me), my wife had the Baja Bowl. We both tried each other's food and had the same reaction, delish, soft, fresh, tasty and healthy. As a bonus, the food was reasonably (by today's standards) priced, I'd say the average dish was 13-14$. I will be back for sure. PS. I was hungry last night and I wanted something light, so I made a drive to this location. Ambiance felt calm and not too loud as it wasn't packed either. They also have outside seating, so there plenty to sit. Staff was friendly as well. You place your order at the register, then get a number to add to your table. My food did not take long to come out and I was happy about that turn around. I ordered the "Chimichurri steak" it has: tri tip steak, house made chimichurri sauce, feta, arugula, cranberry chutney aioli-- and a house salad on the side. The sandwich itself was very tasty, and I actually added sriracha sauce to it and that made it taste better. I initially thought my sandwich would come with small chunks of steak, but no they were slices of tri-tip. I am used to eating tri tip on the warm side, however, this didn't make a difference since I still enjoyed my sandwich. I'd come back and try their other sandwich selections for sure. This place opened up somewhat recently, and one night we were too tired to cook. We placed an order online and my husband went to pick it up. The ordering system was a little weird.... the photos didn't all accurately portray the items and every different soup photo was a stock photo of the same tomato-looking soup. I ordered the soup + salad combo, with Italian Wedding soup and a basic salad. I added bacon and avocado to the salad because bacon and avocado make everything better. Paul G. ordered the club sandwich, and while he was picking up the food, he also picked up 1 of every cookie flavor because "they looked good" and because he is the best husband ever. I liked how big the salad was, but the bacon (for $1.50 extra) was disappointing. There was so little of it that it was hard to find, and the few bacon crumbles seemed a little rubbery and flavorless.... I kinda wondered if they were actually Bac'n Bits. There was also very little cheese on the salad and cheese was part of the reason I ordered it (cheese is part of the reason I live my life). The soup was pretty good! The focaccia bread had a good, chewy texture but not as much flavor as I hoped for. But my favorite part of the meal was the COOKIES! Of the 4 we ordered, 2 came warm and soft in one bag, and the 2 in the other bag were dry and crunchy. I don't know how that happened but the white chocolate cranberry cookie was the clear and obvious winner. Second place was the other warm cookie, the red velvet. I would stop by here just for one of those cookies. The prices were incredibly reasonable. I feel like this area is full of $18 sandwiches, so it was great to get a full, healthy meal for just over $30 for 2 including tax and tip. We will be back! read more

I had been to an Urbane Cafe years and I mean years ago in Agoura. It was not up to my standards. This is the first time I was back at a location that is now much closer to me and they definitely are better now. I was excited to give it another go with the gift card I was gifted for my birthday. My mother and I shared 2 items: -Cilantro Torta (marinated cilantro chicken, avocado, corn & black bean salsa, tomatillo salsa, pepper jack cheese, fresno chilis, pickled onions, chipotle aioli). This also came with an Urbane House Side Salad that had balsamic dressing on it. *I got the aioli, chilis, and cheese on the side. Unfortunately when they brought over the order, they put cheese and aioli on it and forgot the salsa and avo. We brought this to their attention and they truly wanted to make it up to us by either making us a new one or providing us with a freebie to use on our next visit. We took the latter and will be back to try it again. -Salmon Bowl (bbq glazed salmon, mixed whole grain rice, marinated kale, roasted sweet potatoes, edamame, lemon wedge & sweet chili aioli drizzle). *I got the aioli on the side and asked for peanut dressing. This was truly delicious and will be getting it again. For the price and side, it was very shareable. This one by far is the busiest & dirtiest urbane cafe I have ever been to. This is as bad as the Stevenson ranch location. Yes, they are very friendly and accommodating and the food is the best. However my on cloud shoes were very sticky when I walked out of the building. Luckily, I parked far so I won't track this stickiness into my car. Well, I guess because they are very popular lunch spot? But I think someone can clean the floor in between? I love the food and very affordable lunch spot but I prefer the one in Studio City, it was immaculately clean during the lunch time so I hope this place will follow their standards. I would've preferred thicker meat strips, but that's just preference. The scoop of coleslaw they put in the sandwich had a very good consistency. It was not wet and runny making my sandwich, soggy, and messy to eat. The bread was a freshly baked focaccia which added a nice touch. It came with a nice little side salad served with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Customer service here is a 2/10. I stopped by after work to grab a bite, and the cashier was extremely rude. He rushed me to place my order even though the person behind me was still deciding, then walked away in the middle of taking my order. When the manager stepped in, I explained what happened. She apologized but followed it by saying they'd had a very stressful day, which felt more like an excuse than accountability. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've experienced rude behavior here. I won't be returning, and I don't recommend spending your money at a place that treats customers this way. read more

I've been working in Burbank and Urbane Cafe is one of the sandwich/salad spots in our rotation. It's a chain spot with a robust menu, definitely something on there for everybody in the office. My favorite order has been the seared ahi tuna bowl. It was satisfying, with a healthy portion of sashimi-grade ahi tuna, mixed whole grain rice, marinated kale, edamame, cucumbers, red radish, grape tomatoes, pickled white radish, and sesame seeds, served with creamy ponzu and a sushi sauce drizzle. Everything was tasty, even the kale, and a blast of sriracha made it all even better. I've tried two chicken sandwiches from Urbane and both were solid enough. The cilantro torta came with marinated cilantro chicken, avocado, corn and black bean salsa, tomatillo salsa, pepper jack cheese, Fresno chilis, pickled onions, and chipotle aioli. The UC banh mi had roasted chicken, cilantro, cucumbers, pickled carrots, Fresno chilis, pickled white radish, and sweet chili aioli. The bread tended spongey and I wanted maybe 20% more salt and spice on both of them, but they were totally serviceable. Urbane Cafe isn't the most exciting spot in town, but the whole office has to eat every day, and it gets the job done. I'll happily get the ahi tuna bowl whenever I see this menu again. read more

The tables looked clean and chairs looked comfy but I ended up taking my order to go. I wanted something healthy and thankfully they have a few vegan options here. I opted for the Mediterranean bowl which came with an optional side of focaccia bread. The bowl was wonderful and just what I needed to have a healthy start to the day and get some plant protein into my diet. I loved the mixture of rice, sweet potatos, kale, cucumbers and tomatoes and everything tasted so fresh. I particularly loved the kale and how the marinade used ensured it wasn't bitter. The standout was the creamy and savory hummus which worked so well with the veggies and rice. I also love the thick bread and it was great to dip in the hummus.
