We placed an order on their website, but when we got there they said they didn't have an order from us. They also wouldn't let my boyfriend buy food unless he ordered through Grub Hub. So odd. I sent them a message via Yelp to let them know about their site, but they never even replied to it. I'm not sure how they are able to stay in business with no customers. Came across this page and noticed it had 5 star so I decided to give it a try. We ordered the beef Lula and the beef filet / sheesh kebab. Also got hummus and eggplant . Both dishes were flavorful but the filet was a little over seasoned. Taste was good but the seasoning was super super strong, like a little too much like to a point where it feels like you're eating seasoning with a side of meat. First time I didn't finish a shish kebab. The seasoning wasn't the best either so I wish there had been some sauce to substitute. The hummus and the eggplant were good but the pita bread it came with was crispy hard instead of soft. When we were given the menus, at the bottom of each menu, there was a coupon for free appetizer with a plate so we ordered two plates and asked the waiter if we get two apps, to which he said yes. Unfortunately they still charged for one of them which didn't make sense. Parking was a tight squeeze. There was a homeless person sleeping outside and their dog kept coming up to us for food. This place was 'Green Garden' for many years. I never tried Green Garden, I was never sure what it was (I figured it was a front). So when this place reopened/rebranded itself as Chop 'N Grill BBQ, I decided to venture in and give it a try since it is walking distance from my house. The inside was modern and clean looking. Look, let's be honest here. Kebabs are a VERY competitive market here in Burbank. Not sure we need MOAR kebab places, but OK. If you are going to compete against all the other Kebab places, you need to really seperate youself from the crowd. Unfortunately, Chop 'N Grill does not do this. While they do offer a high quality meat, the overall dish is way too expensive, and the portion sizes too small, when you compare against the competition. The food was OK. Nothing to rave about. I thought to myself 'well, this is OK but I won't be ordering from there again, especially at that price point'. I know this place has a ton of great reviews, but you will see this a lot with 'new' businesses that open up in Burbank. I got the Barg Kebob, and it was delicious!! The meat was so tender and all I had to do was bite into it to tear it off--no need to use a knife to cut it. The rice was delicious and the tomato and pepper were deliciously seared. I would get the Barg Kebob again, and total my meal was $22 (after tax + tip) and completely worth it. I also got samplers of the yogurt cucumber and the hummus, and I'd get the cucumber salad again--it went well with the grilled pepper. Would highly recommend this place! I'm really hoping we hear from the owner on this. This was our first time trying this restaurant and we've actually been disappointed twice now. The first time was last Thursday night when we spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out what we were going to get for dinner. After husband and I finally nailed it down at 8:10 p.m., I went to call the order in and noticed on my delivery menu placed on our doorstep, that they are only open until 8 p.m. That's kind of a buzz kill and seems super early to be closing a restaurant on a Thursday night, but ok. So, we put the delivery menu away for another time... tonight (3 nights later). This time it was only my husband that was ordering - he ordered $35 worth of food. Placed the order at 7:10 p.m. His credit card was charged. We were both excited (I wanted to see how the food looked and we are always excited about new restaurant finds nearby). Then about 8:15 p.m. I said that it seemed like the food was taking a long time. He called and left a message. I said, "well they're closed now but maybe they're still out delivering food". It is 10:15 p.m. as I write this. Another thing - the delivery menu that was placed on our door step says that on Monday's, they are open until 8:00 p.m. When I looked on their website - it says open until 8:00 p.m. But on Yelp, it says 7:30 p.m. This is really confusing. I asked my husband if he could have possibly ordered the food after 7:30 p.m. He said no. But even if it was after 7:30 - why was his card charged? Why didn't some pop up thing come up and say "your food won't be delivered because we are closed". Why are there inconsistencies about your closing times? A lot of things have gone wrong. I love trying new Armenian bbq spots and I have to say from the moment I walked in I felt a nice welcoming and comfortable vibe. Forgive me I forgot our servers name but I believe it was liana if I'm not wrong. She always had a smile on her face and made sure we had everything we need during our dinner. The food was GREAT! We ordered a soltani plate and a chicken breast plate. They were delicious. She also brought out very fresh lavash along with fresh onion and basil. One thing I must mention that I loved and thought wow no where else does this... the tomato and the green pepper where nicely peeled on our plate when it was brought out to us. The restaurant is situated in a small plaza across the street from Gus's Fried Chicken on Glenoaks. Ordering our food on Grubhub for pickup made the whole process go smoother. The restaurant is small and only has 5-7 tables. The owner was very nice and brought out our food and we were off in about 5 minutes or so. So we ordered the $135 small family special and a plate of their lamb chops. The lamb chops had about 4-5 pieces and it was very tender. I don't like lamb chops because they are gamey, but the way it's prepared here, I didn't taste the gaminess at all. Nicely seasoned and had the grilled flavor to it. The small family special came with 5 large sides (hummus, Ikra, Yogurt Cucumber, Olive Salad & Yogurt Challott). On top of all 5 sides, they also give you lavash, greek salad, rice, grilled veggies, 3 skewers of beef & chicken luleh kabobs, 1 skewer of beef shish kabob & 1 skewer of chicken breast kabob. At first I thought $135 was kind of steep, but when we got home with the food, it actually came out to a lot of food. Overall, I thought the kabobs were good, they weren't great. Could have used a little more seasoning though. I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area. The owner just replied to my review and informed me that if I had called into the restaurant to place the order, it would have cost me only $100 for small family special. Very good news. The beef kebabs were tender and delicious with just enough seasoning to enjoy the fire grilled flavor of the meat. The luleh kebab was incredibly moist, flavorful and delightful. The hummus and tzatziki (yogurt cucumber) had the perfect balance of seasoning and I love that the cucumbers didn't have any skin on them. The rice was fluffy and seasoned to perfection with saffron rice mixed in. They sent lavash instead of pitas which is a huge plus for my health conscious family! This has been my go to spot for the past few weeks. Finally! I've found a place that offers top quality food for a great price with great service. So far, the appetizers I've had were the yogurt challot, shirazi salad, and the eggplant ikra (the best tasting ikra I've ever had and it's with a spicy kick). For the meats, I've had the beef Soltani (highly recommend), lamb, and chicken. All are seasoned perfectly and they literally melt in your mouth. The service has been extremely welcoming. It's as if I'm walking into my home and being taken care of by family from A to Z. I've been looking forward to trying the abgoosht which is the only thing I have left to try. From what I saw by the person sitting in front of my table, it looked delicious. I can't wait to try that next.
