We had our wedding at the Stakeout in July. The staff was really kind and professional. The food and cocktails/mocktails were amazing! We received so many compliments from our guests. We chose to have our wedding here because of the stunning views and beautiful New Mexican architecture. The dining room and patio are gorgeous and you don't have to add anything extra to make the space look great. We liked that they provide tables/chairs/decor and have a day of coordinator. We worked with 3 different coordinators leading up to our wedding but Caroline was wonderful and supported us so much throughout the weekend. Our wedding day was seamless thanks to the Stakeout team.

What a gem to find! My husband and I saw some reviews and decided to give this a try. I out it in…read moremy maps and followed the walking directions for over 45 minutes and kept going to an empty lot. Finally we figured it had been put on the wrong side of the Main Street so we went the other way and ended up hungry and ready for a drink and dinner. The only negative is that I couldn't get a margarita other than the wine margaritas they have. Since there is a sweet and sour mix in them I went for a white wine instead and it was perfect for the day. We ordered our drinks and chips and guacamole to get started while we looked at the menu. Our server was super and we sat on the patio in the shade which was lovely. There was plenty of shade for the hot day. To stave off our hunger while we looked at the menu we ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole. The salsa was fabulous as was the rest but I had to comment on the salsa because so often these days it's just too tomato-y or bland. This was flavorful and had a bit of spice. For dinner, we ordered the steak tampiquena and I would get it again. Savory, perfectly cooked and hearty. Check this place out if you are visiting!

The real standout, though, was the flan. It was hands down the best I've ever had: incredibly smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. Friendly service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Taos!

And our best dining experience ever in Taos has been AJI. Great hospitality from the owners, with nice ambiance in the restaurant. But the food is special. All dishes creative and not like anywhere else. Everything mouth watering. I do wish the restaurant were more vegetarian friendly, but South American restaurants tend to be very carnivore-centric.

We walked from our B&B and it didn't look like much from the outside but it is classy inside. Upon entering the air was a bit stifling. The windows were open and there was a breeze so we asked to sit by the window which was no problem. The decor was tasteful and. It overdone. The service was a bit slow but staff is friendly. Our server always kept a distance we are aren't used to when being served and it seemed as though she wanted to drop things off with arms stretched as far as possible and in fact she didn't pour the bottle of wine we ended up with. I appreciated her recommendations and especially when I asked about the wine she recommended a different one than the one we first suggested. She was right! We ended up getting a delicious Koyle Cabernet. We ordered the duck and the lamb. The duck was 10/10 amazing! The lamb was cooked medium well for some reason as we were not asked and assumed it would be medium rare. Don't assume they say! It was dry and fatty. Seems strange I know but there you go. But definitely try the duck!!
