This is a fantastic family bowling alley. It appears to be a family run establishment, as there was a mother and daughter behind the cash register. You should call to make a reservation in advance because this place is busy. They had 12 lanes to bowl, with comfy couches to lounge at for each lane. They also have tables and chairs set-up right behind the couches for food and drinks. There were plenty of arcade games to keep the kids entertained between rounds of bowling. They also have a pool table and air hockey. The music was fun and loud. They turned off the lights and the lanes were lit up with fun colors. It really was a fun experience The bar is stocked with beer and wine. They have great food, including gluten-free pizza. read more

12 lanes of bowling and a pizza bar. Food is decent, there is a limited selection of beer and wine. We didn't bowl tonight, but have in the past and it's a blast. This place has gone down hill tremendously since it first opened. The owner thinks she can do it all - rent out the shoes, be the bartender, serving and bussing. This leaves an obnoxious wait in everything. God forbid you get the wrong size shoes, and have to wait a half an hour to get them replaced! Highly recommend ordering two beers at a time to spare yourself the wait. She really needs to rethink her business model - there are plenty of people in Taos looking for work, and these would be low pay anyway. It would make the service and experience so much better. read more

Don't doubt yourself, you want to come here! It's frugal FUN for all the fam. THE GOOD : I usually dislike the energy of a bowling ally so hear out a bowling newbie : - Prices make sense! I love that you can pay per game AND shoes are included at a super cheap price! They have hourly rentals too but with my kiddos, I want to be able to bounce out after they start to get too competitive with each other of fussy. - Date night approved! Yes, on top of bowling you get arcade games, air hockey, pool ball and the kids will be super entertained BUT it's a great time without them! Haha It's that perfect kind of spot to let loose with your partner. - Everyone was SO friendly. Yeah, it's Taos, coming from California I can say most everyone is friendly here, but some places hold energy for the locals and no locals that make it so comfy to just be yourself. This is one of those places! -Place for newbies AND pros. Any time I've ever gone bowling the pros side eye me because I'm all out having fun and they are over there annoyed hitting strikes or whatever. Maybe I'm just annoying? BUT the etiquette for bowling is posted on the screens so I actually get WHY I'd be annoying to them. ‍ - Wood fired pizza oven?! WHAT? Actually good crust, toasty and chewy and yummy. Draft and bottled beers, wines and all your usual suspects for bowling alley food but done right. Generous portions to pick off of and the wings are on point. THE BAD : - You can't eat/drink on the cute couches at your lane. Listen, I'm kind of lazy. I get that it's legit RIGHT behind you that you can place your food/drinks and walk less than 2 feet to pick at your yummies but I want to sit and use the cute set up and enjoy my food. - Amazing bar looks full on BUT no cocktails. This place just looks like it serves a mean Long Island, you'll belly up expecting your overly sweet favorite ways to get your buzz on but nope. Whilst on my vacation to the lovely town of Taos my family and I decided to stop at this establishment thinking we would have a good time.... but our expectations couldn't have been further from the truth. Gutters is pretty amazing just as a bowling alley, or as a restaurant, but combined it's AWESOME. Really - how many bowling alleys have a pizza oven and make their own veggie burger from scratch?! Went last night for the first time - free bowling, for the ENTIRE COMMUNITY, sponsored by Gutters and other local businesses to benefit a community member in need. There were families bowling, raffles, live streaming from a local radio station and overall just a wonderful all ages event! Mid-century modern may not be the first thought that comes to mind when thinking of a bowling alley, but this is Taos. When you look at your hip bowling shoes you just rented you realize that, wow they (I?) look good with those white chairs, leather couches, and colorful bowling balls! Staff so extremely (and genuinely) happy and helpful, and the owners are there - yes, there, as humans and it's evident. Big shout out to Shelly for having the vision and execution to truly be a leader, entrepreneur, coach, and friend. Sure, you can show up and "just" bowl, or, you can experience Taos as it truly is - a community that looks out for each other, whether you came to town a month ago, a year ago, or 10+ years ago. read more

Took 50 min to get our mediocre pizza and fries...how long does it take to make fries? Didn't ever ask us if we wanted another drink. Made excuses that other people ordered before us even though no one was there but us, only 2 workers...the cook and the waitress....will not be back. read more

Wish I could give this place zero stars. Totally unprofessional atmosphere. For family-friendly, the owner really loves to curse and insult paying customers. She will involve her personal matters into her business lift which is a huge conflict of interest. If she's going to kick you out she also will do it unprofessionally by grabbing you, yelling profanities in your face, accusing you of outlandish things, all whilst seeming that she is physically impaired. How bad can it get!!! Wanted to support this "struggling" business but the way I was treated by the owner, Shelly, was incomparably the worst experience I've ever had in any establishment and that is not an exaggeration. She lost $150 after making ten people live, people who planned on buying food. Seriously horrible. If you kick out all of the residents and their friends, and they all stop coming and word spreads, don't complain about your failing business. So sad!!! Could've been a great experience. Spend your money elsewhere and for a better cause! This doesn't need to become a non-profit. Not for me and I will be spreading the word!!!! read more

Great place to go bowling. Lots of fun for kids and adults. Food is good but overpriced. Waited last time for almost an hour for our pizza because the guy who placed the order stamped the ticket before giving it to the cook so that was not a good experience. You can't take your drinks on the table where you bowl and have to leave them on the shelves behind you. Last time our drinks and plates were cleared before we got to finish. read more

We visit Taos every year but this was our first year bringing our kids so we ventured into some family friendly activities this year and thus we went to Gutters. Not sure if this place is new, but it felt new. We figured we would get the kids some pizza here, but it was a bit of a disaster. After waiting 20 minutes for our pizza the guy came over and said the pizza got ruined in the oven so it would be another 20 minutes. He gave us some free tortilla chips and salsa to hold us over and gave us our soda for free which was nice though. We decided to bowl while we waited for our pizza. When the pizza came it was okay, but definitely not worth the wait or price. I hope they get their cooking game together because the place is super nice though. The bowling itself was super fun. It's small but it is beautiful. They have couches to sit on which is a nice touch. The whole decor is like pinterest-chic, and I especially loved the lighting that wasn't too dark or bright. I would definitely go back when we are in Taos but I would probably not get food. read more

Wonderful day with my 4 year old grandson. The manager gave us a quick lesson before we began. My grandson used the "bumpers" and a ball ramp to bowl. After our game we ate a delicious lunch of sliders and fries. The customer service, including the friendly cook, was great. It's new with a vintage look and very clean. read more
