Packed on Memorial Day early afternoon and with the pumping music REALLY loud. When the weather improves, outside will be the place to eat. Most of the reviews refer to the BYO burgers but honestly, the burgers are good but not great and not really filling. Asking how you want your meat cooked is weird as most believe hamburger meat should be well cooked at a restaurant. I believe the nuggets are to be found on the menu beyond the burgers and overpriced fries. The tuna salad sandwich on a pretzel roll is fantastic. The special green beans with ginger dressing and crispy onions were a throwback to the Thanksgiving Dinner casserole with an Asian twist and were very good and a generous order ideal for two. Despite how busy, the food came out promptly and the floor waiters are very personable and helpful. One question though: why can't a napkin dispenser be put in the dining room or on the tables since you will need more napkins than they give you with the burgers/sandwiches. Good burgers and good homemade chips. I tried the Turkey Burger which was a little bland. I would have loved a good old fashioned sesame seed bun which is not an option unfortunately and went with the brioche bun. Ok, but the best option for what I like. We were hungry so it tasted good but probably not a place I'd go out of my way to unless I was right there. We did go there before COVID and liked it better when you could sit outside and eat and they had a pretty good beer selection. I've never left a Yelp review before, so here it goes... I had an appointment in Irvine and wanted to look for a place to get a quick bite. We Yelped local restaurants and decided on The Stand because the burgers looked delicious. I decided to download their app because I wanted to familiarize myself with their menu. On the app I went to "Order" and I was pleasantly surprised they had pictures of the food items as well as descriptions. I went to "Rewards" and I had a 70 points reward waiting for me that equals a free side of regular fries. That's so generous just because I downloaded the app. We showed up to The Stand already knowing I wanted the French Onion Soup Burger and my boyfriend chose the Onion Stack Burger. I also used my free reward to get the regular side of fries. It's counter service and we placed our order with Paloma. She was really patient with us because I told her it was our first time and we were excited to try something new, and a bit overwhelmed with the the condiment choices that we could add to our burger. My boyfriend asked if he could substitute the Parmesan crusted sourdough instead of having a bun. Paloma said it was possible. She also offered us pickle chips and a sample of their house made potato chips. It took a bit of time for our food to arrive. It didn't bother us because we knew the food would be fresh and not soggy. Our meals were DELICIOUS!!! My French Onion Soup Burger actually came with a side of au jus that was basically French Onion Soup minus the crouton and cheese. I chose not to dip my burger, but actually eat the au jus as soup. My boyfriend's Onion Stack Burger had a nice crunch due to the Parmesan crusted sourdough and crispy onion straws. The hickory sauce was just enough to add flavor without having the sauce leak out or make bread soggy. Considering it's a counter service establishment, it was really nice of Paloma to check on us and then bring us samples of soft serve. So... the bad part... we were both so hungry and ate our food without taking a picture of how amazing everything looked. I only have a picture of the empty wrappers. Wow wow wow where to even start?! It was our first time here tonight for dinner and this place was amazing. To start, the food was amazing, there is so much variety and I didn't know what to get. The atmosphere was chill, the music was on point! Once we got to the ordering station, we asked Manolo? (Sorry if I butchered your name) But he was soo nice and informative! My boyfriend and I were stuck between a couple choices and with Manolo's help we decided on the ultimate egg burger and short rib grilled cheese I am still drooling about what we just ate omg! Come to The Stand, where great burgers and beers meet mediocre service. My wife and I were in search of a burger and beer before heading to The Great Park (not so great) for a concert. The Stand hit all of the usual criteria...great ratings, microbrews, gourmet burgers and air conditioning. No one was on the patio on this sweltering day but we were able to find a table in the cool indoors. The gal at the counter taking our order was not friendly at all and really belongs at a fast food burger joint. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with blue cheese and ended up getting a stand burger which had a bunch of toppings she did not want. She ended up scraping off the sauce, lettuce and tomato. We were also confused about the drinks. Do we stand here while you pour our beers or do we sit down? Where do we get ice water since we were not handed a cup? We were met with a finger pointing to the drink station. Neither friendly nor helpful. My ultimate egg burger was excellent. Great thick patty, cooked to order, lean but flavorful. A really good combination of ingredients that went well together....not some food truck concoction of, let's say, kimchi, peanut butter and gummy worms. The tempura onion rings were quite good but the sweet potato fries were not as crispy as I would have preferred. Both beers we tried, a Belgian ale and the house blonde amber were excellent. It was very delicious the bread was soft and the meat was perfect! I would for sure come here again, the service was great the waiter named Tyler was a great waiter. He served my food quickly and was very helpful, I also observed him serving other tables efficiently and promptly getting them what they needed, ranch , to go boxes and asking if nothing else is needed. We tried the cilantro lime chicken which I expected more of a cilantro flavor but it was mild , not my favorite since it lacked a little flavor, however the El Capitan burger is full of flavor and it was my favorite. I came here out of curiosity and was genuinely impressed by their service and food. Big fan of the music choice. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich at the recommendation of Genesis and loved it, so glad she was able to help me pick something I actually ended up liking as I had so many questions due to being a little on the pickier side. She never made me feel like I was a bother. The other two girls working were Kaitlyn and Sam who were such a delight. Turkey review only . On a bummer once again . In the world of turkey sandwiches if the turkey is not carved off the actual bird but a processed rendition it never taste like turkey. This is the case at The Stand . What they call "roasted turkey " is a rubber ball ran through a slicer. Unfortunately this is very common at many restaurantI s . However as the stand has Good burgers and is fairly expensive I gambled and got stung . I gave it one star. as that's what people read. The Stand burgers are 4 star for sure . I didn't get what I thought I was getting, but it's my error. Not wanting a big meal, I ordered a kids grilled cheese sandwich, and it is not in anyway similar to the picture of a beautiful, crispy, grilled cheese that is on the regular menu. The kids grilled cheese is essentially American cheese melted on a hot dog bun, likely perfect for most kids, and it comes with a perfectly sized small order of fries. I liked the fries. My mom got the chimichurri steak salad, which had slices of apple, and she thought it was spectacular. The place was clean and staff was pleasant. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Parking can be challenging - large, but very busy lot. read more

Good food, not great; it is like a Panera with American foods such as chicken nuggets, burgers, and hotdogs. Doesn't beat Red Robin chicken strips and burgers for sure, but similar in price. I absolutely love The Stand! My favorite is the BBQ Brisket but everything I have tried is delicious. I have to say their customer service is the cherry on top. I have placed an online order for 15 people to a few restaurants but the stand is the only one to get it right EVERY TIME! The food is packaged correctly with the names and this makes a huge difference when passing out the custom orders. Also, they always have the food ready on time. Great food, great service. Tried a bunch of things and they were all great. Got the Southwest Chicken Salad - portion was generous and it was tasty. Also ordered the chili cheese fries, which were great. Some of my friends ordered the new Pepper Steak Salad, the fire fries, and the onion rings, which all got ringing endorsements. Finally got to try this place and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the French onion soup burger and combined with the au jus was amazing. It does have a lot of onions so be prepared for that but the buns were perfectly toasted and the burger a perfect medium. Fries and onion rings were alright. I did feel like I needed some fries to help counter the heaviness of the burger/it was a little greasy but overall it was a delicious experience. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is I wouldn't normally pay $12 for just a burger. I think it should come with fries if you're paying that much. Incredible!!!!!! Their prices are the cheapest and with McDonald's being nearby it can be a coin-toss at times, but 100% you need to go to The Stand!!! Let me tell you why! Tried this place tonight and am so glad we did! It was amazing. The guy at the counter (sorry didn't catch his name) started off our amazing experience by explaining sizes, his recommendations of what to get, and even let my boyfriend try some beer samples. What we decided on was the French onion soup burger, the street corn dog, onion rings, and a small side of Mac and cheese. French onion soup burger: Brioche bun was soft but had a nice toasted crunch to it, Gruyere cheese, red wine caramelized onions, and crispy onion straws along with a French onion soup au jus. I mean... spectacular. I wish I would have thought of this one myself because it was brilliant. It tasted exactly like French onion soup but in burger form. Just amazing. Onion rings: Perfectly beer battered and not overly greasy. Onions actually stayed attached to the battered and we got a nice array of sauces (which were all free by the way) to pair them with. Their signature fire sauce, house made ranch dressing, cilantro lime aioli, and green Chile aioli. They were all amazing but my favorite was the green Chile aioli. Street corn dog: Amazing! The bun soft and delicious, the actual hot dog was a cheese and jalapeño filled bratwurst that was juicy and delicious topped with a corn salsa, Parmesan cheese and the cilantro lime aioli. It was absolutely delicious. I think my only thing I wished was A. There were no beans in the corn salsa and B. That there was more of it. The pictures on the website showed this hotdog with a GENEROUS amount of corn on top and mine did not have that amount on it. It was so good, I just wanted more of it. Mac & Cheese: This was the only blah part of the meal. It was bland, cold, and not nearly enough sauce on it. We each took a bite and that was it. There was no fixing it. Overall, an amazing meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. Atmosphere was great and service was great as well for a fast casual concept that you order at a counter.
