Stand Burger add Havarti and Blue Cheese
    Thomas M.

Stopped into The Stand for lunch today and was not disappointed! The restaurant is clean and cozy and the World Cup was on (Japan vs. Brazil). The service was fast and friendly and the staff explained my options for cooking the burger. I chose a medium rare The Stand Burger with nothing on it, add Havarti and Blue Cheese, wow! A perfect flavor combination, complimented with a fresh brioche bun. I chose a side of Fire Fries, zing! Plenty of tang and a nice heat. Lastly, the strawberry shake was excellent! Will be back to explore more menu items. Enjoy!

    Southwest Chicken Wrap

The Southwest Chicken Wrap is one of their healthier items and I love to get a side of ranch sauce as I'm a ranch sauce fan more so than the chipotle crema that the wrap comes with. It's still a lot of calories so I only eat this once every 2-3 months, but it's great quality and very clean and tasty. The staff are very hardworking and honestly they seem a bit understaffed, but their meal benefit is still kinda cool, I'd imagine, given the awesome variety of popular foods here! The vibe is very inviting, clean, well-maintained, and casual friendly with a bit of the dimmer sports bar vibe although I'm not aware that they necessarily serve alcohol or have sports on TV. Overall, one of my shortlisted food spots in OC for everyday food at an awesome quality and reasonable pricing!!

    Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad
    Elle C.

Perhaps due to being counter service, The Stand hasn't been on my radar for dining destinations. I'm glad that our family member selected it, as it completely satisfied our cravings for salads. I thoroughly enjoyed my choice of Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad, chock-full of quality ingredients, tasty flavors and textures. There's limited, tight seating available inside; I appreciate and prefer the open-&-airy seating options outside (especially on a nice day) -- which makes it fun if others in your party opt to order from the other dining establishments. Given the seemingly small number of people around, service was far slower than expected, but appreciatively pleasant, helpful, and professional. I like that they identify their options for those with food allergens (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free). Fun experience for a casual meal. Eager to taste more off their menu!

Short Rib Grilled Cheese, French fries

This sandwich is hard to beat. It hits every mark, without fail! Every bit of it just marries together so well, and the portion is quite large. Their fries are also a hit, especially with ranch. The ranch is garlicky and thick, and doesn't seem like a traditional dill and buttermilk recipe. As for service, the waitstaff were very quick and eager to please. The outside seating at this location is also quite nice.

I love The Stand!! It was my first time at this particular location and it's as amazing as ever. Huge location with a fantastic patio with tons of great seating. My favorite is their Veggie Bliss Burger. The crispy onion straws, house made veggie patty and all other ingredients make each bite more and more delicious! They have fabulous sides, like the crispy French fries or Mac n cheese with crunchy bread crumbs. I highly recommend getting a side of their creamy ranch and some complimentary pickles! Plus, the brownies are to die for! All the staff were kind and helpful. It's an order at the counter type of place and then they bring you your food, and even buss it at the end. It's a 10/10 at The Stand!

The Stand is a decent neighborhood burger joint for a casual meal. You order at the counter and get a number to take to a table. I like that they have a veggie patty that isn't fake meat, but made of quinoa, brown rice, black beans, carrots and corn. Their Veggie Bliss is a nice alternative to a regular burger, with fried onions, pepper jack cheese, guacamole and pickled red onions. They also have a good turkey burger, if you're avoiding red meat. Onion rings are good, but greasy. You can choose two sauces to go with it. Indoor and outdoor seating available (I prefer outdoors to soak up the sun). The Stand has a nice selection of beers on tap. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Who doesn't love burgers and fries?? Haha! My friend and I visited The Stand for lunch on Friday, 6/26. I live in Irvine and always drive past the plaza it's in... I rarely go there and saw a that they had burgers! It was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised! I had a kid's meal (lol) - it came with a burger, mac and cheese on the side, and a fountain drink. My friend got a salad and an oreo shake! Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10. The food was delicious. Bonus points that it's in a nice location!!

Dropped by on a weekday to try their salads and ordered the chimichuri steak salad with charred corn vinaigrette. The portion was generous but the steak wasn't the most tender and the chimichuri had an unusual taste that didn't work for me. I also ordered the sweet potato fries which were tasty at first but quickly lost their texture and became soggy. On the upside, the service was friendly and the ambience was inviting. They also offer burgers and wraps I might try on my next visit.

We were in the area and was craving burgers and hotdogs We looked on yelp and this was the first place to pop up We went and it was great Restaurant was clean and had lots of people Customer service was great very friendly Placed our order they offered us free pickles they were delicious Went to sit enjoyed the vibe Received our food pretty quickly Everything looked amazing Bbq Brisket on a pretzel roll was delicious Onion rings great Hot dog was perfect Pickles were amazing Would definitely recommend this place

    Barbecue Brisket Sandwich

Excellent lunch with the Barbecue Brisket Sandwich and the Quinoa Kale salad w added grilled chicken! Great food choices that are healthy and prepared fresh. Terrific and friendly service. Tables on patio with umbrellas for shade. And outside are so we could eat lunch with our dog. Highly recommend.

Ordered takeout so cannot comment on service and ambience. Honestly was super surprised by how good the piri piri chicken bowl ($15) was. The chicken was not all dry and the rice paired well with the dish. I also got their agua fresca ($4) which tasted good. Highly recommend.

My first visit and it was AMAZING . One of the better burgers and more places I've been to and I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend! Their menu is pretty large. You can build a burger or choose one that is on the menu. I got a protein style onion wrap which comes with a juicy 1/3 lb. burger w/ quality meat , hickory sauce and bacon. I opted out of the bacon. I would definite recommend ordering ahead if getting to go - which I usually do but in this case I was killing time until hotel check in so I didn't . Both young men at counter were nice and Daniel was especially pleasant and helpful. They have beer and wine here- please see photos for additional info and pics on this. Ambiance is casual dining w/ various beer and wine offerings and specialty beer on draft . Super casual dining atmosphere with seating inside and out. Try the blueberry lemonade or cucumber mint refresher. I mixed them both and it was beautiful. The only thing that could e possible been wrong is I didn't have any ketchup or ranch in bag to go w/my fries. Will be back when I'm in town.

    Chinese Chicken Chop Salad
    Diana R.

We've lived in this area for over a decade, but never made it out here. We finally did and it was ok. I had my first experience for this restaurant chain at the location in Tustin. The Irvine spot is a lot smaller than the one in Tustin. I think the higher ceilings at Tustin gives it a more spacious feel. And there are more dining tables for larger groups and roomy booths at the Tustin location. Our server, Destiny was very helpful and diligent. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad since it seemed like a popular salad according to the reviews. I requested to replace the spring mix with Romaine salad instead. Destiny double checked an ingredient to make sure that it was not in the salad to accommodate my allergy. Kudos to her for her thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the salad. It seemed like there was more dressing than actual lettuce leaves. Also, one would think that the almond slivers would be an included item in the salad, but it was an additional charge, so no thank you. It seemed like whoever prepared it didn't really execute it well. This was my husband's first time trying their food. He enjoyed the burger and fries, and his input was that he wished the burger was a little bigger. Maybe we'll return in the future.

Do they accommodate groups? We have a water polo club traveling to this area and want to do a club dinner where everyeone can order their own meals. Would need to accommodate 40-50 people.

I personally wouldn't see an area for 40 to 50 people here, considering the regular customers as well. . Another option might be to place a huge catering order in advance for a beach or park trip? I'd speak to the management. They can guide you!

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.

It seems like this spot is super popular for brunch drinks. Had the birria taco and this one was probably my favorite of the dishes tha we ordered. The smoked salmon flatbread wasn't as good, it looks very colorful and pretty, but I didnt think the flavors went together very well. I like the smokiness but the salmon wasn't umami enough to justify mixing in caviar and avocado and arugula that would normally pair well with beef. One of the ingredients listed was shishito peppers. I showed the server that there weren't shishito peppers. Without me asking, he told the kitchen to prepare a plate on the side, which was nice. However, for a $50 plate that's a big oversight. The "yuzu glaze," tastes like something from a Panda Express or an Asian fast food spot. I scraped it off since it was overly sweet. The sea bass was perfectly cooked, which was the one good thing about the dish. My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops, which were under seasoned and the carrots were undercooked. We wanted to order more, but decided against it because we were disappointed by the arancini, which was also under seasoned and greasy. We live close by and really wanted to like the restaurant. The ambiance was pretty poor. The large wall screen was playing a series of "screensavers"/stock footage that was distracting. It was on repeat too, and I probably saw the dancing astronaut 3-4 times. We were celebrating a birthday and the hostess said she'd make a note when we made the reservation and they'd take care of us. Nothing happened, and that's fine but just shows that the price you're paying doesn't match the level of food or service you'd expect. For any special occasions, I'd celebrate elsewhere.

Service was excellent too. Shout out Tai? I'm not sure how to spell it. Cute inside with pretty decor but a little small so make sure to put your name down. We went Sunday around 7:30/8pm and there wasn't a wait for party of 4. Pork jowl is a fav of mine and their ssamjjang tastes pretty authentic but definitely had a little twist to it. It was super tender and well marbled. The crispy chicken was also juicy as it was all thigh meat. It reminded me of takoyaki in terms of taste. I wonder if it's because there's bonito flakes in it or something like takoyaki? Scallop pesto pasta was AMAZING. Scallop is my fav seafood and I never had a creamy pesto before. Udon noodles were cooked perfectly. The skirt steak really surprised me. We asked for medium rare and nice never had a skirt steak that tender. The broccolini tasted very charred and smoky (in a good way). It complimented the meat so well. Miso bacon carbonara was a solid choice and we also got that last time. Can't go wrong with it. The wings though were standard fish sauce wings. The slaw was a bit too vinegary or sour for me. Can't wait to come back the next time!

We went right at opening so there was no wait, the waiters were very nice and on top of everything. Their cocktails are on the sweeter side which I liked. Yuzuni: 7/10 it was good, sweet with yuzu flavor. The part I didn't like that it was the after taste. It was very bitter for some reason. Fries: 10/10 it was delicious. The garlic flavor was strong in a good way and the crispy is on point! Calamari: 10/10 can't really go wrong with that tbh Carbonara: 8/10 the flavor is there but it wasn't that special. The noodle was super al dente that felt a bit undercook (?). There was barely any bacon and the portion size is so small Vongole: 8/10 the flavor was very good. Lots of seafood in the bowl, but there was barely any noodle. The portion is also very small for it to cost $40 Pork Jowl: 7/10 nothing special. Not much flavor to the meat. The sauce that comes with it tastes like the cocktail sauce that I feel like did not go well with the pork. Overall I would give this place a 7/10. The portion size were very small, none of the dishes we ordered were special or stand out enough to wow us. The service was great. The atmosphere was alright.

After The Counter…read moreclosed nearby, I really needed a new local burger place when I had a burger craving, and The Cut delivers. I either order The Cut (yes, the $40 burger and fries) or I make my own bleu cheese burger depending on my mood. I'll cut to the chase: is the $40 burger worth it? If you've got $40 to spare and you like burgers, I think it's definitely worth it. I mean, I've had it probably three or four times now, and I'm not some kind of moron who likes setting money on fire (I hope), so it must be good, right? What's unique about it? Basically everything, but obviously the patty of meat is the star of the show, with a unique taste and texture that makes it stand out from a normal ground beef patty, and the cheese is no slouch either. The only negative is that my wife bullies me into ordering it so she can steal a few bites. The regular fries and sweet potato fries are also great. My wife got a steak with her caesar salad one time, and that was delicious too. We usually have the same waiter since we come around the same time/day every time, and he's always great. They also always have a great selection of beers on tap, today they had three different West Coast IPAs and I felt like a kid in a candy store... yum! Normally when writing a review I can come up with some sort of complaint to balance things out, but not really in this case. I mean, I could whine that the burger is $40, but no one is forcing me to buy it (except for my wife). All in all, I think this is one of the best places in Irvine to have a pint of beer and a good meal.

Bbq sauce with medium rare burger - oh my sweet and tartness! Absolute melt in your mouth delishness. And sweet potato fries were the perfect addition to the savory meal. I cannot wait have my leftovers today. My other half had the double smash cheese burger with regular fries. He'd try different side next time. But the Caesar dressing for the salad was amazing with homemade croutons. So let's discuss sauces. Three thousand island - yowsa- and house the cut sauce - my blue cheese sauce - and the ranch dressing! I want more things to dip in the sauces. Next time we will dine in and try more. Definitely a smash hit for a Friday night.

Their menu is easy to read with options galore, from different types of smash burgers to even vegan options (very surprised to see this). Upon entering the establishment, you can expect to order and receive your food relatively quickly. I got the Mooyah burger and a side of fries. The fries were crispy and paired well with the burger. The burger was pleasant, savory, and plentiful. It definitely scratched my itch on smash-burgers. I will definitely be returning for another smash-burger soon! Highly recommend to those in the area looking for a solid spot on smash-burgers!
