This cafe is in the Hoag Medical Complex. I came here on my way home from an appointment to get an iced matcha latte with no sweetener. The presentation of the matcha was nice - the matcha was layered on top of the milk, but unfortunately the result was that the flavors didn't blend that well together. The matcha flavor was also really subtle. The latte mostly tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. Pretty disappointing. If they could just add a slightly bigger scoop of matcha it would be perfect! What I appreciate is that all their food is made-to-order. Everything has always been fresh, and you are able to add/remove items on menu items, as needed. I think you are paying a little more than average for convenience, as my sandwich was $18.95. I don't drink soda, but they have fountain drinks available - and you can also request a water cup. I wish there is hash brown in the breakfast burrito to make it more interesting. If you are eating at the cafe, it might be more worthwhile for that price. The team behind the counter was overly personable, professional and polite. Interacted with both Amza and Sama. They treated every customer as if they were family. Great food in a clean environment, however I noted today that only the cook was masked. Other personnel interacting closely with customers (within 5 or 6" at one point) were not. This cafe is located in a medical complex with a cancer institute, urgent care, surgery center and such and should not be violating the mask mandate. Many patients are vulnerable, especially with the current transmissibility of Omicron and they seem not to be taking the risk seriously at W Cafe. I will not be back until the pandemic is over or they follow basic safety procedures for their customers and employees. read more
