Dined solo at The Standard Grill, and was greeted with such a warm welcome. The host was super nice! The service was excellent, my waiter was checking in on me every 20-min. Food was great; I really enjoyed their trout dip and deviled eggs. Definitely, a must try. The salmon was also good. The restaurant was low-lit, and really felt like a warm diner (but obviously way nicer than a diner). Great spot to eat solo or with friends, can highly recommend.
One of the main restaurants within the Standard High Line hotel. Had dinner once and breakfast twice here. You can tack the bill onto your hotel room The breakfast potoates were hard and lacked flavor. Eggs over medium were sooo good! The Eggs benedict was okay. The cheddar omelette lacked flavor too. Restaurant doesn't have salsa so they gave me tiny bottles of hot sauce The french fries were a 10/10. Cheesecake was okay Espresso shot made me sick lol I heard the lobster roll was good! But would've been better warm/hot
This was my first time dining here but I heard great things about this restaurant from some friends of mine so I knew that I needed to check it out for myself to see if it was worth the hype. We dined in and we were immediately seated at a comfortable booth. The restaurant was quite busy but it was fun. They had the cutest salt and pepper shakers, the restaurant including the bathrooms were clean, and they had a photo booth downstairs for guests to enjoy although it cost extra. I ordered the cheese burger with a side salad. The burger was delicious and the salad to dressing ratio was perfect. The quality of the ingredients was above the average standard and the service was quick and efficient. I also ordered a virgin bloody Mary and it came with unusual toppings but they were still delicious. I enjoyed everything that had come out of the kitchen and I can honestly say that I had a great time with the experience that I had with each of the senses. I know that looking back the recommendation that I had been given made sense given the experience and the quality of service that my family and I had received.
This restaurant is inside the standard highline hotel. I ate here a couple of times for breakfast and then also at the bar for oysters. The breakfast is great. I had two eggs, bacon potatoes. My friend had an omelette each time I came here for breakfast. Service was fast. Food was fresh hot as I expected. For the bar, the oysters were delicious. You're not overly briny. I also got a dirty martini. It was also very good. Overall this was a very good couple of visits.
I love that this gem is tucked away in a cozy little corner of the Meatpacking District. It is just next to the Standard Hotel which can get a little sceney, but for weekend brunch on a sunny day, it's nice to walk through the crowded streets of Chelsea into a more calm area to enjoy a good meal. Everything I had here was delicious. From the smoothie at the bar to the actual meal at the table, everything was amazing! The menu was quite extensive and I'm so grateful they have a vegetarian biscuits and gravy option- my favorite breakfast dish! Paired with the drunken monkey bread for a little sweet moment and I was in heaven! Aside from the food, the space itself had a unique yet classy quaintness about it. The bathroom experience was also an adventure, passing through a hall of mirrors and a photo booth on the way. Would recommend and would definitely return!
Totally caught off guard when we walked into this location 2 weekends ago with my wife for valentine weekend. She actually was craving oysters and honestly I think god just placed us at the right place , at the right time because holy cow! Amazing atmosphere and service from just walking into the place. The place is a place for breakfast , lunch and dinner. They literally have the restaurant broken up into different sections but they go together so seemingly. Check out the bathroom floor lol it's really cool design.
Somethings are meant to be shared with the world... I think the Over the Counter cocktail is one of them. We ate a lot, drank a lot, but this was my number one standout. This drink was an experience, starts with a mango taste, then vanilla, then orange and at the end the spice. Truly the most spectacular cocktail I have ever had in my life. The snap peas were also amazing, i liked my steak, but the snap peas totally stole the show. Must order. We shared the wake and bake cookies, definitely shareable, but I do think there may be better options. I wanted them to be warmer than they were. The milk was nice but in a dysfunctional cup. My only negative critique was the cheeseboard. $44, but the servers couldn't tell us what all the items were. It was a very sparse cheeseboard that could use a revamp.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the Standard Grill. I was staying at The Standard and this is their attached breakfast lunch resto, so I came in with the expectation of typical overpriced hotel food but I was so wrong. The breakfast and brunch menu is eclectic with multiple sweet and savory options that were reasonably priced. I ordered a shashuka and the portion size was awesome with two large slices of sourdough bread and really striking and savory flavor. Their buttermilk pancake stack was perfectly soft and just the right amount for either solo or to be shared. The waiter was extremely friendly and understanding as I had to expense my bill to my hotel stay but I hadn't received a room yet on my morning of check in, they were able to work it all out without having to bother me. The restaurant seating options are also really diverse with an outdoors patio, a front atrium that is better lit, and a cozier indoors with a wooden and red leather feel. Loved the restaurant for brunch and recommend this one even to those not staying at the hotel!
The leather couches are of a gorgeous red leather and are quite soft to the touch. It's worth it just to enjoy sitting here. The Norwegian eggs were excellent. The potatoes were done well, and the Apple butter was authentic. Good service too, well staffed.
Cutest vibe inside with a mix of classy and old-school nostalgia. Loved the details from the tiles to the lighting. Our server Ron was friendly, upbeat, and made the experience even better. Ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes and Croque Madame--both were mouthwatering and I'd get them again. Superb spot to stop during a morning walk in NY!
Ok I spent 5 days at the standard Highline and had multiple meals in the grill. So the eggs Benedict were totally mediocre.. the sauce needs work. The freshly squeezed orange juice at $10.00 a glass is a wonder to behold. I had bacon eggs and toast each other day and it was a perfectly serviceable breakfast. In the morning it's a nice bright space somewhat welcoming. Like most things related to the standard the place is slightly funky. One lunch I had the standard burger which was char broiled and very tasty. Way too big for my taste. It was good. Overall we ate many meals here in our group collectively and nobody had anything bad to say about any thing we ate. They serve a great cappuccino. We drank many!! Overall we were well taken care of. Bring lots of dough. This joint ain't cheap. They have very healthy options I tend to avoid them. Break up your large group into tables (vs a big group at a big table) to avoid a large minimum.... If only they could work on those eggs Benedict. My guess is that they need inspiration.
Came for the standard diner pop up and it was cute! Nothing super special about the bar food they serve but the floats were cute!
Was just recommending this spot to one of my best friends visiting the city! Honestly 10/10 the ambiance the food the drinks We splurged and got the oysters and steak and every bite was worth it Wish I could teleport there right now to be honest Feels cozy and upscale. Ample and spacious seating. The location is beautiful. Gets busy so definitely make a reservation! Can't wait for my next NYC trip to come back

Went there for lunch with a group of 45 people. We had a reservation and when arrived, everything was set up for us just waiting for us to arrive. You walk in and The High Line was above you. Outdoor seating and very spacious and comfortable seating inside. The atmosphere was clean, bright and very friendly. We had a set menu for us starting with a delicious Simply Green Salad with herbed, shallots and a very light dressing. That was followed by a Whipped Feta Tartine on sourdough bread. Family style Pomodoro Pasta which was so flavorful and a grilled chicken club with avocado, bacon on a toasted brioche. Food was very flavorful and beautifully served. The whole experience was well presented. read more

Had a great experience at The Standard Grill earlier this month. The service was quick, the restaurant was very clean, and the food was very tasty. We ordered the gnocchi and steak tartare and both were delicious. Our food came out promptly and everything went smooth. Located near the High Line, it was a great stop to grab a bite on our way to a nice walk. Highly recommend this top notch place. read more

Outdoor dining at the Standard Grill - so civilized and delightful. Started with the cutest teapot of jasmine tea and Bloody Mary's dressed with a baby burrata, cheese tail onion, stuffed olive and Himalayan salt. Great people watching and fun to reminisce on all the neighborhood changes in the MPD since the club kid days of the 90s and early aughts. Enjoyed a super midday meal of Gruyère omelet, spinach with lemon parmesan breadcrumbs, gravlax with trout roe, lobster roll, and a spectacular sourdough BLT with heirloom tomatoes, lemon aioli with a mountain of shoe string fries. Walk it off with a long stroll at the High Line nearby. read more
A friend and I stopped in on Thursday evening for happy hour. To partake, you need to be at the bar (great counter and some small tables on the side overlooking Washington St). Tthankfully the bar wasn't crowded. Happy hour is from 4-7pm M-F. My friend got there at 6:30pm and ordered a glass of rose. I was a bit late just got there 10 minutes before HH and I got a Spagliato Spritz. Cocktails are $11. We also ordered a side of French fries ($5) which were thin and crispy just the way we like them! The bartender was great and the bar area started getting busy as we were leaving to go to the Amy Sherald opening at the Whitney. read more

Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast here this past Saturday. Ordered the two eggs ant style with bacon. The bacon was perfectly crispy but melted in your mouth. Eggs came with two slices of toast with a very good butter and jelly spread. Service was excellent the whole way through. read more

One of my favorite breakfast places when I visit Manhattan. This old fashioned American diner serves great breakfast with a modern flair. It is also close to the High Line away from the city. We like sitting outside but inside dining has cool decor. It does get busy so reservations are recommended, otherwise the wait time could be substantial. Off the breakfast menu, the organic egg dishes were good as the avocado toast. Service was great but sitting on the outside during peak times may slow down table service- just people watch and enjoy your Cawfee! :) highly recommended! read more
Stopped in for an early dinner with a friend. We had a special called the "girl dinner" which is 4 items from the sides, appetizers, or dessert menu and two martinis for $80. We each had a Caesar Salad and split a side of roasted potatoes and a slice of carrot cake. It was a good deal and filling. We sat in the front of the restaurant and had a view of the street which was nice. Nothing really over the top but would definitely come back for happy hour. read more

Well, we went for brunch hoping the bad ratings were from the dinner food, but no. The food looks ok but the flavor was seriously lacking. The steak was tough and potatoes tasted like old oil. The monte cristo was dry but decent. The breakfast sandwich was ok. The omelette was ok nothing great. The only saving grace was the monkey bread. If I were to ever find myself there again it would be just for that. The coffee was bitter too! read more

Vibe: "cool" Food: fairly exceptional tbh Waitstaff: bothered Green juice was a nice healthy placebo to the drinks the previous evening. Having worked in the service industry I understand the pain of working MDW or any big holiday, I also have to imagine these servers deal with some d-bags based on location. However, it really seemed they hateddd being there. Again, was it because of the patrons? Or are they under appreciated by mgmt? Food was good and the space is beautiful but it definitely harshes the vibe when you feel like you're bothering the staff to be seated, to order, or to re-request your side of hot sauce etc. Omelettes were great as was avo toast. Frittata good but other egg dishes overshadowed. Coffee was fine. Special shoutout to the bfast potatoes, from the girl that doesn't usually want then..they were superior. read more
