Pleasantly surprised by Cookshop! I wrote it off initially as trying to do too much with their menu, but I really enjoyed everything we got. It had been years since I'd been to the Cookshop and felt it was worth a revisit. I started with a very unique dish - the Warm Carolina Shrimp - it sounded inviting on a cold day. The shrimp, a generous portion of medium sized, sat atop a bed of citrus and salad. I didn't expect the citrus flavor to blend with the shrimp, but it was excellent. The shrimp were tender, and the pomegranates, mandarin and orange, with a citrus garlic vinaigrette added such a wonderful burst of flavor. I had the Cookshop Burger for my main dish. I asked to have it cooked Medium Well - pink. It comes with fries. The burger, at least the first few bites were delicious, but then, as I got towards the middle of the burger, the meat was medium to medium rare. I cut out the center, and ate the remaining burger. I was disappointed as the meat was very good, but very 'undercooked', for me. The fries were okay - they're very thin, and as a result, very hard, or tough to chew. I like a thicker, 'meatier' fry. I did mention the undercooked issue to my server, and without my asking, he removed the burger from the bill! So nice!
