I would not recommend going to this place. I bought a starter through them with a promised warranty and a week later when it no longer worked I took it back to them and they did not honor their warranty. They actually wanted me to pay an additional $100 which is crazy being that I just bought the starter a week prior. I drove my car into there shop and paid for a alternator 600 dollars the short little Mexican got upset cause I didn't purchase the battery next thing you no car brakes cause they rigged up a wire to start my car so eventually that gave then they said I needed a starter so I told them fix it 600 more dollars and someone tell me why when I drove my car into this place I had to have my car towed home and they laughed I will be filing a law suit against them so we can see how funny that is read more

They rebuilt my wife's alternator they never gave me a receipt so there was a problem with it 2 months later, they had the alternator for a week fixed it again I had to pay 105.00 for apparently not having a receipt. Make sure you get one or you will have to pay ! read more

I'm disappointed to see poor reviews here. These guys saved me. I had been going to them for batteries since I first moved to Albuquerque ten years ago and hadn't realized until recently that were actually a shop. I have an old car and rely on keeping it running. I knew what was wrong with it but the quote that I got on it was so expensive that I had resigned to just drive it until it broke down. I went to get a battery from these guys and casually asked for a ballpark quote on the work. These guys replaced my intake manifold, replaced the motor in my automatic window, recharged my AC, tuned up the car - all for $800 less than the other shop quoted me for just the intake manifold! Not only is their work great and the pricing more than fair, they go the extra mile. They called around to find a cheaper part with a warranty for me and got the work done in one day. They always remembered my name and my car when I called. Every one of the guys that I spoke with was so helpful and courteous. I'm moving soon, and I was terrified of leaving with my car just about to break down. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Don't believe the other reviews. There is no '30 day money back guaranty'. I got a battery that was promised it would fit my '94' ford mustang. Not! I took it back the next day. The manager or owner went off on me about wanting my money back. This was just one day after purchase. Didn't have a battery for exchange. Told me he could make it work. I'm sure he would have rednecked it. He was severely rude & ugly - he gave me a severe headache. I have seizures that deal with emotions. I was having trouble that I had to leave. I got back the money back but not the original battery I had taken in for the core charge. We have been customers with these people since 2008. We have 5 cars in the family as well as friends on the side my boyfriend helps. They have lost our business. read more

I really loved these folks. In fact, I just had the alternator rebuilt by them. The man that I dealt with regarding the alternator is a really nice young man (short fellow), and he seems like a professional. Then they really did me wrong. Last week I sent my Native American friend in with my old paper work regarding a bad battery that I had previously bought from them. The car ran for less than a year, but it ran. I feel that the tall, skinny fellow that gave my friend a replacement battery (just the other day) knew it was bad. I really believe that it was discrimination, and that the man purposely sold a bad battery to us. The battery was a complete piece of junk that didn't even start the car. We had also just had a rebuilt starter put on and my Native American friend that installed it was taking it out and putting it back in while trying to figure out what could be wrong. My friend wouldn't have had to go through all of that if the man at the starter shop had given us a decent battery. We didn't want to walk back over to the Start Shop again with a heavy battery after we'd been hauling the alternator, starter, and batteries back and forth on foot (on buses and on foot to Auto Zone too). I called the Start shop and asked them if they could drive a short distance (by car) to check the battery that they had given us, and they refused to drive over to my place. I ended up having my car towed in to Brake Masters at Wyoming and Menaul blvd., and the bad battery was diagnosed. The car ran fine after the Brand New Battery was installed. I recommend Brake Masters (this location) as I have had great experiences with Tim Everett the manager. On another note: the Start Shop wouldn't refund my money, because Tim E. had to keep the the junk battery for the core charge. I offered to give the Start Shop Tim Everett's phone number, but they refused to take his number or call him. Even if I had the old junk battery for the Start Shop, they couldn't do anything with it. I was driving down San Mateo when i notice this shop, i have a sporadic electrical issue and a leaky water pump. These young guys that serval reviews bashed pretty hard came through as true professionals. the water pump was done very quickly, how ever the electrical issue didn't show its ugly head while they had it in the shop, i left it an extra day and still nothing. The next day I went to get my truck and the low and behold the electrical issue happened and these guys (that are accused of being hillbillies and rip offs) found this issue in about 30 minutes gave me a quote which I doubled checked with my home shop back home and they informed me they a much cheaper than he could do the repair for. and as far as the warranty it is printed on the back of the receipt, details are clearly explained. and if you loose the receipt and cant afford the repair, only advice i can give is get a job and don't be so cheap....THESE YOUNG MEN ROCK AND KNOW THEIR SHIT....... read more
