Beef ribs?! Yes please! State line has delicious classic BBQ meals featuring beef ribs, pork ribs. Brisket, sausage & plenty of delicious sides such as beans, potato salad, baked potato & sauted mushrooms. Highly recommended :)

The gimmick is the restaurant is on the State line, so you enter from Texas and leave through New Mexico

I'm old enough to remember when this restaurant was "out on the middle of nowhere" El Paso has grown so much that is there is a wal mart next door. The staff are attentive and more than willing to address your requests. The food is well cooked, the Brisket is tender, representing a solid reliable BBQ. Though, I like my sauce with a bit more spice. The servings are a decent size and we took home a doggie bag. I sampled the mushrooms, the queso (delicious), the homemade special bread (I didn't find it special), the brisket (tender) and sausage lunch platter (beans, coleslaw (average) and potato salad (also average, would have been fun with some New Mexico hatch peppers) and the soup (delicious). Like I said, if you want a solid BBQ outing, better than the franchise chains, give it a shot. But it's not going to knock over any James Beard Foodies It was too hot to sit outside and I'd like to give the live music a shot when in late fall.

Good food and service. Portions are large, so expect take home containers. Potato salad is amazing. Beans were much tastier this time. The extra charge for the 2nd cut brisket is NOT worth it. Mine was actually chewy, which was disappointing. The sausage is great. I wish they would make a spicy sausage. BBQ sauce is good as well. The vibe of the place is inviting and relaxing. This place has a full bar, if that is your jam.

The service was good. Decor was outdated and the food was below average. I was looking forward to having bbq as it is not my go to choice of cuisine. Our waiter Jacob truly made this dining experience bearable. He was patient, kind, and personable. The food was a huge miss. All of the sides were bland and lacked flavor. The beans tasted like they were undercooked and seasoned with taco seasoning. I prefer baked beans with my bbq. The coleslaw and potato salad were not good. The only thing I enjoyed was the sausage. The chicken and brisket were disappointing, lacked flavor, and did not taste like bbq. I would not go back.

Definitely the best barbecue place in Texas, and New Mexico! The State Line never fails to serve the most amazing food! Highly recommended! Great place to celebrate special occasions or just to enjoy a great meal! 5/5

Every time we visit family in El Paso we stop here. Tonight's visit was great as always. I am allergic to mesquite wood so I need to make sure they didn't use it. The waitress didn't know but the manager came over to talk to us about (they don't usually). He even came back two other times while we were there. The place is cute. We will of course be back.

***check in to get free sausage appetizer*** Ordered the 2 meat combo with potato salad and beans. Lived. Those sides were so Delicious! I was initially bummed cuz I was hoping to get mashed potatoes, but then changed my mind when I tasted their sides! So yummy! Had the pulled pork and brisket. Pulled pork had some bones in it. That brisket was so good! Definitely get that. The free bread the other was warm and fluffy. They have their own honey butter which is subtle but good.

State line has been a decent go to spot for BBQ for as long as I can remember. Pork ribs are fantastic, their sausage is great, desserts are on point. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Today we got a lunch 3 meat combo with a baked tater, also beef ribs, pork ribs and potatoes salad. If you check in through the yelp app, you get a prompt for free sausage appetizer. We had a great meal, only thing for me was the beef ribs just didn't have much meat on them and no smoke flavor you'd expect.

I tried a few BBQ places in El Paso. This one was one of the best! Cool place apparently right on the line of New Mexico and Texas. I got food to go for supper. I was really happy with the quick service in the place. The food was really good. I got sausage, pork and turkey. All was really moist and flavorful. The Slaw and Potato salad were fine. The roll with honey butter was really good! Great BBQ place in EL Paso!

I am not exactly sure what to think of The State Line. I have been here before previous to my yelping days. I don't have a ton to analyze - the meat, BBQ sauce, and bread were good. Otherwise the sides were not the best. I should have substituted for the baked potato. I would return, but I would not order the charro beans, coleslaw, or potato salad on a revisit. The meat is good so focus on that. I will probably return.

Interior sign. Order the beef ribs!

I've been coming to the State Line every time I'm in El Paso for 30 years. The ambiance is fun, the service fast and friendly, generous portions and great prices. They do an excellent steak, but I nearly always order the beef ribs. They're super meaty, always perfectly cooked and have a nice crust. The sausage is also really tasty. I've never eaten anything here I didn't fully enjoy. If you're in El Paso, give this restaurant a try. You'll not be disappointed.

Everything was super tasty highly highly recommend the kimchi pancake. Flavor was spectacular and perfectly crispy/crunchy. The squid entree was very tasty too just a little too many peppers for me. Would get again if I didn't want to try other things. Value is really great for how much food I got. Yes we really over ordered (2 apps 2 entrees for 2 people) but still all the plates were big. This is the barbecue that does not need the sauce it's that good! Service was really good. Thick slices with a beautiful smoke ring, deep flavor, and that perfect balance of tenderness and structure. It was juicy without being greasy, and the bark had just the right bite. The brisket sandwich was equally satisfying. Simple, honest, and generous, with crisp onions and a soft bun that let the meat shine. The ribs had great flavor, but were a bit on the dry side during this visit. Still enjoyable, but the brisket definitely stole the show. Sides were a mix. The green beans were outstanding. Easily some of the best I've had at a barbecue spot. Full of flavor and clearly cooked with care. The beans and cornbread were solid and comforting. The coleslaw, though, didn't quite stand out and was the only item I'd probably skip next time. The space itself adds to the experience. Open, casual, and unpretentious. It feels like a place focused on doing barbecue right rather than trying to be trendy. FYI: You order first & they bring out the food to you. Overall, Hallelujah BBQ is absolutely worth visiting, especially for the brisket and those green beans. I'll definitely be back.

Ordered a manzanita drink (drink selection is a little different than many other restaurants). The Mac & Cheese appetizer was delicious! Actually, my favorite part of the meal! The sub sandwich came with a simple green salad that was a nice combo. The sandwich bread was soft & warm and included meatballs covered in sauce & melted cheese. Not bad at all but due to my own personal preference the meatballs weren't my personal favorite. In the future, I think I'll lean toward options that don't feature "meat" because of my preference but for those who look for or prefer vegan options, go visit Jake & check out this new downtown El Paso eatery!
