Really the best bartenders I've ever seen! Massive crowds turning over constantly and nobody waited for anything. We had a tab and easily ordered with hand signals when they made eye contact which was nearly constant. These days so many people working in hospitality don't know anything about making eye contact with their customers but at the Stage they were the most professional, efficient, skilled team I've ever seen! The bands were good. Not really up to the same standard as some of the other places we saw but they were fun and the crowds loved them. It's a decent sized room and the turnover between bands was efficient and they played decent music in between so the good times just kept rolling! If you can't have a great time here, it's you, not them! Try them out! read more

We stopped in here during our brief visit to Nashville. We were walking down the street admiring and taking in all the country bars. Every single bar had live music blasting and I suggested this place because the music was not at an unbearable volume. We also wanted a place that was not packed wall to wall with people. Upon walking inside, we discovered it was almost as busy as all the other places we passed. I decided to check upstairs for seating and to gain an idea of the environment. Luckily, there was a couple of seats but unfortunately that it was next the stairs so people constantly bumped into us. Cool though-there was a second bar upstairs! Hubs and I like to try local beers when traveling so we ordered some beers, sat down, and enjoyed the music. I never listened to country music until I moved to FL and so over the years, I have come to appreciate the genre a little more. The band was playing cover songs but from what I can remember, there was not only country music playing. It was just for the experience of being in a bar in Nashville and I can now check that off my list! read more

The music was good The bartenders were great It was late in the night around 1:00 am the crowd was not the best with a few drunk people who kept pushing into the crowd, we left after 1/2 of drink due to the few people who made it uncomfortable. read more

I have never left a review in my life, but I need you to fire your bouncer immediately LMAO I am 26 years old and a Nashville local. The bouncer asked for my ID and took it from me saying it was "a fake" while I was with my 50+ mom who just wanted to come in and use the bathroom. I am local to here and i will never come back or bring my friends ever again. Kindness and hospitality goes a long way. read more

Fun laid back bar with good drinks, good bartenders and great music. When we were here, the band had a fiddler with them and she rocked the place! That's something you see at most places on Broadway. RUDE. DO NOT GO HERE. Place next door told us to set down our coffee outside before going in. So we did that here, out of courtesy. Door guy stopped us, sneered at us & said condescendingly, "First of all, you can go right back over there and pick those drinks up, those are trash and throw them away." My wife explained that we were coming back for them and that the other establishments had us just set them down at the door before entering. He said, "WELL, YOU DIDN'T ASK ME IF YOU COULD BRING THOSE DRINKS IN." I'm 52 years old & have never been treated like that. He only got more rude from there. We hadn't been drinking & merely tried to enter the establishment - which looked like it could use the customers. read more

Surprisingly decent live music bar on Broadway. We stopped in here because there was no wait to get in and the band was killing it. Bonus about this place, there are two bars! Which really helps reduce long waits for drinks on a busy Saturday night. There rooftop bar here, but there is a giant stuff bear at the entrance... that is real? Our group of 16 did the line dancing class and we had so much fun ! They did great with instructions. Provided us with waters , they were on the top floor, and there were bathrooms. Drinks are available for purchase downstairs that you can bring up. It is very crowded and kind of hard to dance with the number of people in the class, but i would definitely come back ! read more

This place has a very cool vibe and nice decorations. The live music invited us in. While we were there, it wasn't that crowded, yet we still had a good time. They offer lots of, I mean a lot, whiskey. They definitely go with their name lol we got bootles of Tennessee beers to start the night. It was cold, as how it should be. Had a great time here at the Whiskey Bent Saloon. The first floor was crowded so we decided to stay on the first floor, and we found a great spot to sit down and enjoy some music. The bartenders here were great and didn't have a problem getting some drinks. Will definitely be returning. read more

Real deal country music bar. Great selection of Bourbons and other drinks but not a hipster place for fancy craft drinks. Plenty of space downstairs to dance and there is a small balcony to have a private area. This bar is fun with a cool saloon feel that is not too crowded during the day but at night, super crowded and more fun. read more

Our friends wanted to come to this bar and I'm glad we did. It's a more southern vibe inside. Staff is extremely friendly. If the downstairs is packed they have an upper level that overlooks the bar. The guy pictured got in our face and told us to get the fuck out .. the table of women behind us made a racist comment about our skin color and told the guard we were being disrespectful....however knowing my family they were -we are here for business. The women made a very racist color and the guard pictured couldn't even keep his temper under control. We are here for a good time and fun not to get in trouble. A few of us decided to take a self guided scooter tour from Bearded Iris back to our place in the South area of Nashville. We planned to make a couple stops and when we hit broadway, we needed a watering hole ASAP. Luckily we rolled into Whiskey Bent and got a few seats at the bar. It was early afternoon so it wasn't super crowded. This definitely worked in our favor because the two piece duo was amazing and once they really got going the bar started to fill up quickly. Whiskey Bent was a quick stop for a beer that turned into a great experience. Definitely one of the better Broadway spots. read more

Our 1st stop for the evening, I wasn't blown away but would totally stop back. The bathrooms were clean and the service was fast despite being busy. For a vodka soda (Tito's) and a bud light it was $15. Not horrible and the vodka soda was pretty strong. read more

Like most locals, I generally can't with Lower Broad honky tonks. They can be too much. They can really play to a tourist element (understandable). They can be unbearably crowded. They can be a lot. So, I, like most locals, avoid them... until I have friends in town. And, then I go... and try and choose the least painful option. On my last go 'round Downtown, I found myself trying to figure out where to go on a Wednesday evening. The day of the week didn't have much effect on the crowd situation, so I turned to experience and Yelp. I wanted to go somewhere I'd never been. I also wanted to go somewhere well-reviewed. Whiskey Bent, tonight was your night. At the risk of telling all my secrets, I tend to go straight back and upstairs when entering a Lower Broad honky tonk. Not seeing a staircase and not recalling reading about one, I stayed put up front so as not to make an ass of myself looking for a second level that wasn't there. Even though it wasn't Sunday, there were plenty of people dancing -- mostly tourists. That said, everyone was good-natured. The bar was split between onlookers, women who knew every country line dance (and song), a group of men from Canada with a penchant for... uncomfortable bending and touching, and me & my friend. A motley crew, to be sure, but one that shows WB is open to all kinds. The band was fantastic. It was a four piecer with the female lead vocalist showing a vast range of musical ability and a deft hand at working the crowd. So often I get frustrated at the amount of raw talent one can hear throughout this city and who won't get their fair shot at stardom while the radio is full of no talent hacks. The entertainment business isn't fair. Back to WB: I stood at the edge of the bar, nursing a weak Jack & Coke (point deducted for that) and marveled at the ability for the band to turn on a dime. They were playing requests and went from country to rock to soul to pop. They never missed a beat. I spend a lot of time grousing about traffic, crowds and woo-hoo girls when I go to Lower Broad. It took me spending some time at Whiskey Bent to remember that Nashville is home to really incredible musicians who ply their trade at the same bars locals (tend to) overlook. We should do better. I should do better. I'll be back to Whiskey Bent... but I'm going to want a better-made drink. read more

This place advertised their great whiskey selection, but they didn't even have a list of whiskeys to look over. I had to walk up and down the bar looking, squinting at bottles to see what they had. If you are advertising your whiskey selection, you should have a list. The band that was playing was good. The atmosphere was decent. read more

I was supposed to be walking back to the hotel. I was seduced by a saxophone, as one is. Rarely have I heard saxophone on Broadway, so I took a chance and went in. It has that divey feel but turns out, it seems like Sunday nights are unofficial social swing dancing nights at Whiskey Bent. A phenomenal band playing *real* country music (not the pop stuff), and fun-as-all-get-out swing dancers hanging out. If you're looking for where the locals hang out, this is it. I had a fantastic time, the dancers recognized right away that I wanted to dance. Everyone is so friendly, right down to the bouncer. I loved the various whiskey-themed art on the walls. Everyone packed up around 10:30pm to head to Robert's Western World, so I followed suit. I can't wait to come back. read more

Since the incident, I have found multiple reviews from other customers of color describing experiences that raised similar concerns about profiling and disparate treatment. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. There are plenty of businesses in Nashville that can verify IDs without treating customers this way.

The spot is in an old building in the middle of the entertainment district (Lower Broad area). It has a small outside seating area, for when it is not a sauna, Inside there is a nice sized bar, if you are just seeking a drink. They are known for their mac & cheese, which I have never tried in all of the times I have been to the Stillery. Very creamy, cheesy mac & cheese. The Nashville hot chicken has a nice spice to it. A bit mild for the serious hot chicken fans, but the flavor is there. The chicken tenders are fairly standard. And the crinkle fries are mid. I enjoyed both of the drinks. At $14.50, they are at least $1.50 less than the standard Broadway cocktails in the star bars, so iti s a less expensive option to get a drink. I don't think they ever have live music, unlike some others here, so you are going for the food, not the noise. Service was great, as always. The staff is always prompt and knows their menu. It is more bar food and the menu is limited, but what they do, they do well.

There's a row of boots on the wall, which I think is for display only and a call out to the time when they actually sold boots here. This historic building itself feels like a shotgun (long and narrow) and apparently once served as a Civil War warehouse and later the Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company. To prolong our stay, we ordered cheeseburgers and beer (fries and onion rings were extra) for brunch. I tried to interest folks in their $6 "Recession Special" - A grilled or fried bologna sandwich piled high, with a bag of potato chips, a Moon Pie, and a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer, but got no takers. We sat up on the balcony, which we had all to ourselves and with a nice view to the main floor below. Our waitresses were down home friendly, hard working, and good at what they were doing. We felt right at home and this was perhaps the most classic and authentic Nashville experience we had here. The band even wished my Happy Birthday. :)

And yes, Cinco de Mayo was just a few days away. One member of our party just wanted a soft drink, which was not possible that night as their CO2 was down. That did make me wonder whether the non-alcohol drinkers had much to chose from here. I suppose we could have then wandered over to the Redemption Bar at Chief's? Anyway, we're not Tequila Drinkers, and since other drink options appeared to be guesswork, we left towards more traditional mixed drinks (and live music) at a nearby Printers Alley bar. This was a rare night that I really wanted a craft cocktail in a smooth environment, and in the end it just wasn't the same.

Get validated and discounted parking from the museum front desk/concierge so the fee is only $15 to park in the parking structure across from the museum. I would also like to mention that staff member MICHELLE V. was very helpful on my visit, as she went out of her way to get me a personal item that I needed, so thumbs up to her. Thanks Michelle! The museum itself took a good 1-1.5 hours to explore. We started at the top floor to see Dolly's exhibit and Taylor Swift's center...then slowly progressed downstairs. It was cool to see the memorabilia of various famous country artists as we looked around. Now we know why Nashville is the country music capital of the world!

Now on to the service and food, let me present a timeline. 7:30 we arrive 7:55 we finally get our drink order and we place our order for appetizers and entrees at the time because I can see the writing on the wall: the service is slow (the drinks were quite good) 8:30 waiter comes back to tell us that the printer had a malfunction and they have food ready but need to match tickets to tables. He asks us to repeat our order. 8:35 we get our appetizer, artichoke spinach dip. This was the best part of the meal. 8:45 the waiter comes to say they are out of short rib (my entree) and I can choose something else. Mind boggling because we've been there over an hour now. I order the pork chop. The waiter assures us he will comp the appetizer. 9:08 our meal comes (prime rib for my husband and the pork for me). My husband asks for a glass of red wine. Waiter once again tells us the appetizer will be comped. My husband's prime rib was supposed to be medium rare. I've never seen a prime rib as well-done as the one that arrived. It was like taking a bite of the Sahara Desert. It was so horrible he barely ate half of it, and he isn't someone that has an issue finishing a dish. It was also completely flavorless. My pork was cooked to the perfect temperature but there was not a speck of salt to be found (nor any other seasoning). I was eating a juicy, tasteless piece of meat. The mushroom sauce on top was extremely bland. 9:20 we realize the wine for my husband is never coming and we just want to get the heck out of there and ask for the check. We get the check and imagine our surprise...the artichoke dip is still on the check AND the wine we never received. We just payed the dumb check and left because now it had been 2 hours and we were SO done. $170 for the worst experience we've ever had at a restaurant. TLDR; don't go here. The service is slow and the food is subpar.

My husband and I purchased movie tickets through Fandango to see the new Toy Story here. I saw on their website that they validate parking for up to four hours in the Nashville East garage, and thank goodness that they do! I couldn't imagine spending any more money on parking after purchasing two movie tickets for nearly $60 (including fees). However, you get what you pay for, as their movie theaters are beautiful and brand new, with fun loveseat-like couch seats and full service dining. Concession prices were pretty standard, and I love that the popcorn is bottomless, so you can get a refill halfway through the movie if you want! I do wish that you could just place the order through the QR code rather than just requesting a server ... it seems like it would flow more smoothly for everyone if that were the case. We also got an Oreo shake with our popcorn, which was utterly delicious! Note that there is no regular concession stand - you must order popcorn and snacks (or a full meal) through a theater server. Regular rules do kind of go out the window with these full service dining theaters. The woman a few seats down from us was shining her flashlight at her menu for the first 15 minutes of the movie, and it was so annoying! She did it periodically throughout the movie as well. I'm not sure what Hooky could do to curtail this, as I'm sure they want people to order food throughout the movie, so I'll just say moviewatcher beware! The couch seats were comfortable, albeit a little awkward. I really wish they reclined! The audio and visuals were great - we opted for the SDX theater, and it did not disappoint. We didn't get a chance to check out any of the other games on-site, or the full bar available, but we did note their awesome happy hour deals. I am sure we'll be back soon!

The only real positive was that it's new and they're keeping it clean. So at least a step up from the sticky floors of every other movie house we've visited in the Nashville area. They were having problems with the HVAC and the entire center was uncomfortably hot. The seating is mostly love seats, large enough for two. But the seats don't recline and they've chosen to use cloth instead of leather. The seats are already not particularly comfortable, and it feels like they'll get old and worn out pretty quickly. Wonder why they went with the cheaper approach. They do offer food and drink service to the movie seats. You scan a QR code that goes through a "check out" process that's actually just requesting a wait person visit and take your order. Pretty unusual and underwhelming for an established chain. The "table" attached to each seat is very small, just enough to hold a drink and a small plate. The menu, which is the same menu provided in the bar, is typical bar food and not designed for eating in a dark theater. There are very few items other than the drinks that you'd be tempted to try in the dark. The front door of Hooky is out to a two lane major downtown street with no access for ride shares to pull over and drop you off or pick you up. Huge oversight, they must imagine all their customers are walk ups or parking in nearby garages. We're a bit spoiled by previously living in areas with iPic theaters, and were hoping Hooky might provide an iPic like experience. It's a small step in that direction, but clearly with a lower budget and a less experienced design team. I expect we may give them one more try, after the place has a chance to burn in and get their rhythm, particularly if there's a combination of a good movie and a reservation at an adjacent restaurant like Ocean Prime. But our expectations are going to be fairly low.
