My birthday dinner was held here. I had issues with going to a Casino for dinner. I have lost enough money in Casinos over the past years that I never wanted to go into another one ever again. Also, I am allergic to cigarette smoke. Finally, the company I used to work for would hold a meeting in Las Vegas every year that I worked there (18 years). So I am not a fan of casinos. Then the name 'the Steak House', while it is descriptive it doesn't say Quality. Boy, was I wrong! After entering and proving. I was over 21 (which I enjoyed). Then a brief walk to the Steakhouse passing lots of people working on machines and table games. BUT NO smoking!!! My date and I were seated in a high-backed booth near the kitchen. I enjoyed the view of the kitchen. The menu was impressive! So was the wine list (a book by any other name). We ordered a Rose' the wine sommelier was very pleasant and knowledgeable suggested a GREAT wine. Then it was time to order. It took us a while. So many options but in addition, it all looked do good. Our waiter explained how the pick the beef and how it is aged. We decided that we were either going to order nothing but appetizers or a steak. The appetizer menu was extensive and great. After a while we divided to order steaks. My date had the steak au povie ( pepper steak) and I ordered the ribeye, the steaks came with a choice of potato. We also ordered a side of grilled asparagus with bearnaise sauce. The steak au povier was incredible as was my Ribeye. Both are perfectly grilled. The grilled asparagus was incredible before the sauce was added. There were several 'doggy bags' as there was a great amount if food in addition to the food being of a very high quality. Go to 'The Steak House' you won't regret it. Be prepared this kind of and of great food is not cheap. However, it is well worth the price! read more

An amazing day in Bellingham Washington and I decided going to a nice dinner to splurge was a good idea. My family and I made a reservation at 8:00 PM. Seeing as this place closes at 11:00 PM this was a fine time to eat. Although this place is a bit of a long haul. It took about 2 hours total until getting out of there. Our reservation was at 8:00 but we did not get into our seats until around 8:15 to 8:20. Seeing as it was a busy time this was not terriable but it did concern us. As sitting down it took a bit longer to get water then other restraunts. In the beggining this seemed a bit concerning of an establishment. Late on reservation and no water. But from this point on is where things balance. We got our water and it was phenominal. Fixed with a lemon it could be fiji or tap and we did not know, nor care. Ordering our food to David was special at most. David is one of best waiters I have ever experienced. My whole family shared this opinion. Now on to food. I got the Filet Mignon cooked at Medium with a loaded potato as a side. The filet mignon was very good and cooked to perfection along with everyone else's steaks. Bread choices are unique. You're given three types of butter to be applied to your sourdough bread. Adding two types together can be surprising! After stuffing our stomachs we thought we should ask about a bathroom seeing as a bathroom must be clean and presentable. When asking we found there was no bathroom in the restraunt. We would have to walk to the casino part of the resort which was not very far but inconvenient. The bathroom although was up to my standards. Then we got an assortment of desert options detailed by the best waiter David. The desert was very good. One was an alcoholic beverage so I was not able to try it but my brother and dad said it was really good so I'll trust them on that. After our interesting David put up quite a nice show for us which involved some other staff members. Dont get him in trouble though, hes to cool for that. In total this was an overall wonderful experience. Although pricey it is up to my 5 star standard. The Steak House at Silver Reef is the BEST meal we've had in 2020. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary in a special way since going out to restaurants is hard nowadays. The service was impeccable. Could not have been better. The ribeye (rare) and the filet (med-rare) were quite possibly the best steaks my wife and I have ever had. Had the beef carpaccio and lobster raviolis for apps. I can't wait to go back. It may be expensive-ish, but the value cannot be beat. We had no drink refills, everything brought out at once then he was upset we didn't want desert. I'm just surprised they built a fancy restaurant in the back of a casino so you have to fight to get there and breath in the cigarette smoke. On our last visit we were met at the door by the efficient Maître d' and escorted to a comfortable private booth. Low lighting enhanced the feeling of romance. Lovely stemware, intricately folded napkins and shining flatware adorned the table. Their wine selection is unrivaled by any other restaurant in town and service so personal that it seems like you are the only people in the establishment. Everything was so fancy it was hard to believe we were sitting inside a local casino. We ordered Caesar's Salad for starters which was prepared tableside for us. I have to say it was far fresher tasting than any other caesar salad I've ever tasted. For our main dishes I ordered the Colorado rack of lamb and my husband had the Rib Steak oscar. My lamb was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. It came with a generous dollop of luscious house made garlic mashed potatoes and mint jelly (I never understood the pairing of mint jelly and lamb myself...) It was delicious and so filling that I took home half! My hubby's steak was huge; a perfect pinkish red of medium rare and so juicy and tender that it practically melted in the mouth, and soooooo flavorful it will be the standard by which I judge rib steaks from now on. Topped with a ginormous pile of Dungeness crab and asparagus, it was truly decadent. By the time we finished our meals we were so full that we eschewed the delectable dessert cart but next time I will save room. As a treat for our wedding anniversary we quite often go to the Steak House, the food is usually amazing, but as I'm sat here writing this we've been waiting a good 40 minutes for our food, we've not seen anything from our server and not to sound like a snob but when you're dropping $200+ on a meal and they don't even come and check on us while we're waiting or even top up our wine so we had to do that ourselves! So they are getting 1 star for just service alone, they maybe lucky and get an upgrade when the food arrives but it's going to have to be good. read more

Food is exceptional! I can say that everything they brought out was magical. Steak was simply delicious. Husband had this monster 32 oz "Tomahawk" steak. It was tender, juicy and oh so flavorful! I loved the lobster bisque, it simply made my taste buds do a happy dance. Also, the ambiance is very nice and their wine room is so nicely decorated with wine bottles :) . One thing that almost knocked them down to 4 stars was service. We started with a server, who was immediately replaced and we didn't see our server for 10 minutes. Another server (that we waived down - Ray) was happy to take our order, and eventually our server returned. At the end, after server had our card (card was sitting on the table and when our bill was brought out, he simply took the card without us seeing the bill?) If I could break down the stars for this restaurant, I would give four and 1/2 stars for the service. The meal itself was probably a three star. I had the 14 ounce ribeye which was good but not spectacular. The particular cut that I got had lots of gristle. Although I believe the experience is where they put their emphasis. I will have to say the Caesar salad made at your table is quite good but not worth $18 which serves two people. After all it's lettuce, croutons, and Caesar dressing. If you come to the Silver reef steakhouse you will spend a lot of money and have a very good meal. Just remember, you can spend half the money for the same meal someplace else but may not have the same experience. I have been here three times and two out of the three have been a great experience. This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. We came for an anniversary dinner and the at the beginning of the meal my spouse emphasized a food allergy and wanted to assurance that that would not be a problem. The appetizer courses went off without a hitch. My spouse ordered a filet and I ordered a prime rib. His steak came covered in garnish that he was allergic to. He brought this to the server's attention who (initially)was apologetic. The server said he would have the kitchen remake the dish without the garnish. Not 5 minutes latter he (literally) returned with the same plate and same piece of meat and said: "They were able to rush and make you a new plate". All they had done was pull off the garnish and throw it back on the grill for a few minutes, put it back on the same plate and brought it back to us claiming they remade it (when it was very apparent it was not). The sides were still on the plate where my spouse had left them; there were even still pieces of the garnish on the plate! And the steak was now cooked beyond the medium temperature (that was ordered). This is something one would expect to see at an Applebee's or Outback, but for a supposed "high-end" steakhouse with high-priced meals to pull that kind of racket, was an ultimate insult! I was so angry and annoyed (to know we were spending close to $200 for a meal where the servers treated us like we were to stupid to know better) I lost my appetite and sent my barely eaten prime rib back. All I wanted at that point was to get settled on the check and get out of there. The crazy thing is: we could have overlooked the error initially, but all they successfully did is take a simple mistake and make it worse. I do not think this restaurant is anything that anyone there should be taking pride in being a part of. because the sheer lack of service quality was abhorrent. This is handily the best steakhouse in Western Washington. There really isn't any comparison, it's simply on another level. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like you're the only customers in the place. It's a relatively small restaurant with fantastic lighting that makes each table feel uniquely spacious though you're only a couple feet from the next. There are both booths and tables -- all of them are spacious and comfortable, even the front table that everyone walks past is its own island. There's another with a wall of wine that's certainly worth peeking your head in for a look if you aren't seated there. Needless to say, the wine list is varied and extensive. Not a wine drinker? Well, let's hope you like martinis so you can take advantage of the tableside martini cart. The appetizers are so good you'll want to get one of each... make sure you share because dinner is going to leave you stuffed. The seafood tower and oysters rockefeller are my favorites. Moving to the main, get yourself a hunk of meat and don't have it cooked past medium. They will all melt in your mouth. Assuming you're still going to pile in dessert, be amazed. They have bananas foster and cherries jubilee. Can you hear Sinatra singing? The food speaks for itself -- on a good night, you can smell the garlic wafting into the casino. It'll make you wish you'd made reservations! The waitstaff do nothing to break the harmony you're having with your steak and martini. Ok. I've been here twice now, so I've double checked my initial impression. This place is a pleasant surprise. I stay in Bellingham so it's a little drive, but surprisingly worth it. WOW! Let me start by saying WOW! I made a reservation for my husbands birthday dinner online. Now, I haven't had much good luck with online reservations in the past but this process was easy and we did get a confirmation text so it's starting out on a good foot. The restaurant is tucked in a corner by the Casino's buffet and is small and intimate-at least where we were sitting was nice & romantic for us. First up was a little snack from the kitchen, a salmon spread on crackers--very tasty. We ordered a bottle of Chilean wine, they have an extensive wine selection for every tasty & price range; and met our delightful server, Todd. We started with Carpaccio & Escargot. Both were excellent-the Carpaccio was served with a stone ground mustard and a salad with mixed greens & artichoke hearts; the large juicy Escargot were nestled in a light butter sauce capped with a puff pastry. A spritz of fresh lemon and they were perfect! Chauteubriand for Two completed our entrees. Now, this takes about 45 minutes to prepare to perfection so enjoy the atmosphere, reconnect with each other and just relax. The entree is definitely worth the wait. A palate cleanser of champagne & lime sherbet makes you feel too special...LOL. The Chateubriand is served table side and it is a BEAUTIFUL presentation. Todd served the perfectly medium rare steak along with cheesy mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, baby carrots and sautéed mushrooms. Hollandaise & Bernaise sauce were offered on the table and they were the perfect match for the steak & vegetables. I was in search of the legendary "Tomahawk" or "Longbone" steak, and this place happened to serve it in the area. I went out here with my dad to check it out and it was a very pleasant experience! Our server was very professional and accommodating and if I remembered his name I'd give him a shoutout, but nonetheless great service. The inside of the restaurant is rather peaceful and very clean. Our server handed us some bread with various kinds of butter. There was the regular whipped butter, tomato basil?, and a lemon butter as well. All were really good, and my favorite would have to be the tomato butter. It was something unique for me to try. After the bread he handed us some sesame/poppyseed crackers with a tasty dip, you get a lot of complementary items straight off the bat which is awesome. For the appetizers we ordered some Escargot, and some dish with Caviar. The Escargot was very flavorful and was doused in this good sauce. For dinner I ordered the giant Longbone Steak with some parmesan fries for my side, and my dad ordered the Filet Mingon with Lobster. Now between those two items we both agreed that the Longbone Steak takes the cake for overall taste due to the amount of moisture and flavor, but is a a costly $80 steak. However the Filet Mignon was still good as well as the Lobster on the side, and you get some butter to dip the lobster in which is delicious. Overall it was a pleasure to dine here, and we will definitely return. My husband and I ate here years ago and it was fabulous. Now we live just a few miles away, so we couldn't wait to try it out. I was blown away! Everything about the experience was more than amazing and five star. I don't drink alcohol, but was not disappointed in my "coffee". It was so amazing, and unexpected. A French press, with my own tray of real heavy whip, real shaved white and milk chocolate, AND, sugar rock candy stir sticks(for my sugar) . Best coffee ever! My husband and I and I ordered the Chateaubriand for two. It EXCEEDED our expectations. Steak was perfect! Melted in your mouth. SOOOO many perfectly cooked veggies.. I can't explain how they cooked them. We have eaten at many nice steak houses throughout the States... sure, maybe their steak was enough to bring us back, but this Steakhouse is the whole package. Great food, great service, fair price, Lummi tax is half of anywhere else. I also appreciate that it isnt stuffy. This will now be my favorite dinner place .... from here to Costa Rica! I have dined here a few times and it has always just been ok. The steaks are good but nothing amazing. Most of the sides are very heavy and covered in rich sauces, very traditional and somewhat outdated. What I really don't like about this place is the atmosphere, it is so stuffy. Went to the Steakhouse for a work party and was seated at a large 20 person table alongside their wall of wine. The service was impeccable, very attentive, friendly, knowledgable and professional. We were anxiously awaiting our food as neighboring tables were having flambéed steaks and table side tossed Cesar salad. With our large party we had a small menu to select from pre arranged by the company. I opted for the beef carpaccio and my husband went with the lobster ravioli. Both were excellent. Paper thin beef melted in your mouth served alongside a mixed green salad with artichoke hearts and Parmesan in an acidic dressy which complimented the natural subtle flavor of the beef. It was also accompanied by a whole grain mustard. My husbands lobster ravioli was divine. I am not a seafood fan but I would eat a whole bowl of that. House made perfectly chewy ravioli wrapped around chunks of lobster finished in a lobster bisque sauce and topped with caviar. So good. And both these apps I saw saw on the menu were between $12-14. Amazing. The Cesar salad was phenomenal, crisp romaine with a flavorful dressing of Parmesan, garlic, and anchovy with delicious croutons. The bisque was lovely with a large chunk of lobster and puff pastry disc. Our steaks were AMAZING. Best filet mignon I've ever had! Beautifully seared, topped with butter, and so tender. The flavor was out of this world! My prime rib was the most tender and perfectly cooked. It was accompanied by a Yorkshire pudding, horse radish and au jus. The desserts were also great, mud pie with Oreo base and espresso ice cream and pumpkin cheesecake with ginger snap crust. Ugh, I'm salivating thinking of it again even though I'm so full. You really must try this place. Yes it's in a casino, yes it's kind of out of the way, but holy COW....for an amazing steak it's worth it. We had heard over the last 2 years how great this steak house was but here is what you need to know. 1. To get to the restaurant you have to walk through a casino choking with cigarette smoke. 2. the restaurant itself does not have bathrooms, so if you want to use the bathroom you have to walk through the smoke choking casino again--and quite a long way. 3. Our reservation was at 7 pm but we were seated at 7:25 4. The food was good but everything was over the top in terms of spices, sauces, etc. 5. Our server Todd was 5 star so I don't want him caught up in this poor review. 6. For whatever reason, to get to the Steakhouse, you have to sort of fight your way through a herd of people waiting in line at an all you can eat buffet restaurant in front of the Steakhouse restaurant. 7.Overall, we have had way better experiences for the price at other restaurants. read more
