The Stein & Vine is amazing! Even though it's located in the middle of a strip mall, marked only with the word "P U B", once inside, you will be happy you're there. The atmosphere is casual bar, but it's a bar which just so happens to serve sophisticated food. Even though this spot is technically a bar, Stein & Vine's food is anything but mere bar food. It's exciting because the cook makes imaginative, inspiring, fresh and delicious dishes. Plus, there are new blackboard specials every day, which guarantees you never get bored with their selections. One of my favorites, which they have quite often, is the Lobster Mac & Cheese. It's loaded with large pieces of lobster and is creamy and delectable. The crowded bar scene is noisy and lively every lunch hour, and every night of the week. Seating includes a large bar (in two side-by-side rooms), and lots of 4-seater tables on both sides that can be pushed together for large groups. Management is right on top of things. Once, when my take-out order was accidentally given to another customer, the issue was addressed quickly and corrected by management by getting my order to me very fast with a smile. In a goodwill gesture, I also was given some perks for my next visit. Stein & Vine also has a great Caesar Salad with homemade salad dressing. I've visited this restaurant 3 times and each and everytime, the food was spectacular. The servers are very personable and eventhough the place is packed, they take their time with each guest. I love the blend of different cuisines and how they are perfectly mashed up. I loved the Shepherd's pie and the portion was big enough for 2! The Fries Poutine outstanding! The gravy was seasoned perfectly and the pieces of meat in it were juicy and tender. I also enjoyed the Goulash Soup very much and it reminded me very much of Hungarian Gulash soup, with a taste of paprika. The beef was tender and so flavorful. I will definitely go back. read more

I'm new to the area and decided to try the Stein and Vine. Entering it has a "Cheers" like feel. A place where everybody knows your name or takes the time to learn. Mainly because the waitress and even the cook/ owner came out to have conversations with both myself and the other patrons. It's a family owned establishment btw. They have quite the menu for craft beers and unique culinary pub food. I recommend ordering off the left side of the menu because those are seasonal items. The right side, "Usual suspects" menu items are offered regularly. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with tater tots and a Sauvignon Blanc. I did ask to sample a pale ale DuClaw, but I was in a wine mood. The food came out quick and I was impressed with the amount of lobster meat I recieved. It was 5oz of lobster claw meat, paired with Harvarti cheese and absolutely delicious. I did add an remoulade to enhance the flavor. It was similar to a lobster roll. The tots were hot and crisp. Crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious in the middle. YUM!! The bathrooms were clean and even offered male/female option to avoid waiting for a gender specific latrine. This place came highly recommended. We came here after changing our mind from a local brewery hoping for a wide selection of local brews. Unfortunately they don't do beer flights and didn't have many local (Tampa area) beers. However the waitress did bring me some samples to help me decide. Service was brief but efficient. We also had some appetizers, goulash soup was warm but the duck wings stole the show. Nice tingle of spice and crisp skin- yum! I keep having good experiences, but this one was totally unexpected. They offered an 'Elk burger'; I like to try new things, and so I had their elk burger with gorgonzolla cheese and pickled red onions. I can honestly say that this burger may have spoiled me. Purely on the hamburger alone, the natural taste of the meat and its texture and how it was prepared, it was the best burger I've ever had. I may have to keep an eye out for places that serve elk rather than cow from now on. It was THAT good. And the gorgonzolla was the perfect compliment, really. Hit or miss, it seems the service and food quality go down when the owner isn't there. This is a big problem we all face, I know you can't be there 24/7 and you will never find anyone who cares for your business the way the owner will, I get it. The problem, on 2 separate visits my husband brings my burger back totally made wrong. (Not talking condiments, I can take something off...no biggy.) I tend to get frustrated when, for one, I know how awesome your burgers can be, and two, I'm totally happy to pay your asking price when it's done right. I really need 2 out of 3 to be good, we all make mistakes stuff happens. Another note, I don't eat in as much as my husband and friends, on the occasion when I'm elected to go get the take out, I'm never sure where to go for pick up. You have a great business, and during dinner rush I've stood at the bar waiting for a while without any acknowledgment at all. I don't mind waiting, but when I don't get the, "I'll be right with you" comment... no smile... nothing for 6 to 7 minutes. Having bartenders and waitresses standing next to me, they don't even ask if I've been helped. This makes me really upset, maybe because I've been a bartender/waitress. Stein and Vine is one of my favorite restaurants. There is an everyday menu but also a specials menu (full menu) that changes daily. My ultimate favorite dish I've had theis the drunken lobster ravioli or the lobster grilled cheese. Their food is ALWAYS amazing and I've never had a bad meal. We went last night and ordered the noodle bowl with pork belly (so crispy and delicious) and the Just the Tip Poutine with filet, both from the specials menu. My coworker who lives in Florida told me you have to go to a place called The Stein & Vine. Except it's not called the Stein & Vine it says Pub which is rather misleading. She told me all about the shrimp burger and how we absolutely adore the place and I should definitely try it. Well I happen to be in Brandon and decided to stop in this place called Pub. Our server was a lovely gal named Sam. Their beer menu changes daily as well as their food menu changes daily. I love their food menu particularly because it is very small two pages but also gives you a wide variety of food within about 25 or 30 meal suggestions. Tonight I chose the chicken Caesar with tater tots. Yes I'm aware tater tots aren't erased by eating a chicken Caesar but at least I can justify that way LOL. The chicken caesar was surprisingly well-dressed and not overdressed which is a common mistake most restaurants make. The chicken was blackened and delicious still moist and tasty and not dried out , which is another mistake most restaurants make. On the suggestion of our server my tater tots came with chili cheese and jalapenos on top of them which I always end up regretting. The chili was delicious and would have been a great meal in and of itself. The cheddar was Smokey and added a unique flavor to the top. You would think I didn't really care for was the jalapenos which were fresh and not pickled because they burned my face. And I'm assuming tomorrow I'll probably get to enjoy them once again LOL. I ended up with a Guinness or two and one of the lockers that was one of the evening specials. This place is such a Hidden Gem that I'm afraid my review will do nothing but bring more business to them and when we arrived at 9 p.m. there was still a wait for dinner so I'm afraid that will just compound their problem. There isn't a dessert menu, but when I came for dinner, they said they had cheesecake for dessert. Calamari $8 - These flash fried calamari are great! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the insdie, served with delicious marinara sauce. Shrimp & Grits $13 - Great dish filled with shrimp, bell peppers, andouille sausage, onions and garlic, green onion and topped with a fried egg. Just the right amount of spiciness. Three Palms Coconut Cream Pie $6/10 oz - This blonde ale was interesting. The light taste of coconut was pretty good for the most part, but started tasting a little weird towards the last few sips. Delicious! Very unique and hidden brew and burger place in Brandon/Riverview. I will say, it is tucked away in a crappy shopping center on Bloomingdale Avenue. The place is labeled "PUB" when you drive in. Parking is easy to find since it is in a big lot. They have expanded in the past year and have another serving room to accommodate the crowd. My friend and i most recently stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. There are TVs if you like to watch football! The beer here is wonderful...normally unique and sometimes rare. And I'm talking on tap, not bottles. Although the bottle selection is also very impressive. I'm a big ole beer snob and I find things on their menu that I cannot find elsewhere! The food is AMAZING. Had the burgers several times. The Juicy Lacey is phenemonal. Cooked perfect every time. It is stuffed with your choice of cheese...american, swiss, provolone, pepper jack, smoked gouda, bleu cheese among all. Tater tots are addictive. Pig wings are also amazing!! Affordable too! We stopped by about 4:30 on a Saturday as we came by last night and the line outside detoured us. We were seated quickly and ordered a Dunkel Gold and Original Sin Black Widow ( blackberry cider). They were both very good and would order again. I was feeling adventurous and tried the PB and J Burger, it was surprisingly very good. The peanut butter and jelly are stuffed inside the burger and the cheese and bacon are on top. The salty sweet combination was strangely good. We also had Korean short ribs which were ok but not great. The PUB sign above the door outside makes it a bit hard to find but once inside you have a true pub feel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We will be back for another early dinner. read more

Oh my goodness, if I had not read the Yelp reviews I would not have gotten out of my car. The only visible sign said "Pub" which made this jewel of a restaurant look like a neighborhood dive bar. But alas, like the frog that turned into a prince, once you walk in the door you realize you stepped into something special. There is wood accents and amazingly enticing bar area and service is incredibly smooth. My friend ordered the Volcano Burger and loved everything but the Blue Cheese he opted to go for. Absent of that, he said it was delicious. I had the Street Taco which was extremely messy but really really delightful. We both rated the Pig Wings as the star of the show, they were so good.
