I LOVE The STIL. First of all - BOOZE ice cream options? Um Yep! Sign me up. Such a great place! Great indoor/outdoor vibe with lots of seating. I loved seeing the explanation of the flavors on the chalkboard. (As they are not your typical flavors!) SO FUN! I don't remember the name of the two flavors I tried - but one was cookie butter flavored (if you love cookie butter GET THIS!) and one was almond flavored. Freaking YUM! I actually think I liked the almond one more than the cookie butter. There are SO MANY things I want to try I can't wait to come back and bring my friends (and my little dudes). What can I say? I'm a sucker for good ice cream. And this is some good ice cream. After perusing the hand written menu, I went for a scoop of the honey bourbon and a scoop of the espresso and caramel in a waffle cone. And I'm here to tell you, it was worth every penny. Smooth and creamy, perfect flavoring tut wasn't over powering, and a waffle cone so light it had to be from heaven. The little cool and hopping had ample seating and a neat atmosphere. The ladies and gent behind the counter were very helpful in picking out our decadence. The menu offers alcohol and ice cream mixes as well as flights of ice cream and beer or wine. Something I have never seen before. All they gotta do is build a Guinness float or Jameson shake and I'd buy that stock. So, if you're in Boise, and get a hankerin' for some ice cream, or ice cream and a beer or wine, give it a go. And don't be scared of the names or flavors. While both were labelled alcoholic, I couldn't quite taste the alcohol (was carded anyway, so presumably there was some there). Such a fun place! Came by for an after dinner birthday treat. Customer service is always wonderful, price wise, totally worth the cost, very reasonably priced, awesome flavors! Great ice cream shop with tons of options! They had vegan flavors, tradition options, and boozy treats! We were able to sample all of them, they even let me sample one after we finished (I needed to know what vanilla cream cheese tasted like!) I ended up with Caribbean Cruise - coconut, chocolate, and coffee, which was non dairy but I could hardly tell! The boyfriend got a scoop of Nutella pretzel and a scoop of easy like Sunday morning (coffee caramel). His were perfectly creamy and an excellent pair! Inside was small, but lively! Great service all around from the ladies working - they were explaining how the ice cream is made. They offer beer and wine flights with ice cream, which is super cool. It's slightly tangy, not too sweet, and almost leaves you feeling refreshed. Mind blowing. 'Picnic In The park' is a divine mixture of raspberry, walnut and goat cheese. Yes - GOAT CHEESE. "In ice cream?!", you might ask. You better believe it. And it tastes like a dream. (To be fair, I am a goat cheese fanatic, but I think this flavor could win anyone over.) Today, Indigo and I were on the town for the day. It was boutique day and we had already been to few fancy places when we remembered it was free micro scoop day for kids at the STIL. The STIL is what can only be described as fancy, boutique ice cream in a perfect spot for people watching. Indigo got a micro scoop of vanilla cream cheese ice cream, which reminded me of Haagen Dazs only creamier, which was fantastic! I got a micro scoop of the coconut matcha ice cream which has a coconut base. They also have another matcha flavor which has a milk base. I'm coconut and matcha crazy so this was the flavor for me! It was not too sweet, earthy from the matcha (which I believe is from Wanna Matcha) and toasty from the coconut. Service was friendly, they are always kind to Indigo which I appreciate, and fast. We ate our treats on the patio and enjoyed the sunny day. Next door, we saw the kind gentleman from Idaho Trust Bank (who earlier gave Indigo a blue piggy bank) and stopped to say goodbye on the way back to the car. She showed off her piggy (she's pig crazy) for a moment and off we went. It was a sweet way to end our boutique day downtown. If you're feeling fancy, give the STIL a try! As the ho-ho-holiday festivities surround us, indulge in the Fig-Bourbon Pecan while it is still on the seasonal menu. Beats the "figgy pudding" of the Christmas song all to heck! Or take the Vanilla Cream Cheese option home to pour some port (Telaya's new port release as example) over it. All will be merry and bright! But as good as this ice cream is (they use Idaho based Reed's dairy mix as their base so it starts from good foundation), I don't make the journey to the BoDo location given the parking is simply woeful. And if you think regular parking in the area is lousy, try being a person with Multiple Sclerosis who relies on the city of Boise to have adequate (per now 27 year old ADA law) accessible parking (ha...ha...not) and you'll see an even bigger barrier to getting from car to the door. Bottom line is this is good stuff ice cream and the product is so rich and flavor filled that even a small cup serving hits the spot. I think they may have had Salt & Straw in Portland as a concept when starting this business, but having enjoyed Salt & Straw delights several times, I'd say the STIL options are perhaps even better, more approachable for all palates. Think as in Eugene's Red Wagon. And yes, that I know all these places products so well suggests I have an ice cream addiction. Now if I could just park and get out of my car to get in here, STIL would join my list of those preferred providers who feed the addiction. read more

Ordered the Salted Caramel and the Cookie Butter for the single.....DELICIOUS! The double was Salted Caramel, Cab Sav sorbet and Peanut Butter No Bake Cookie. So freakin good! My second experience was much better than the first and I really liked the peanut butter +cookie (After School Special).
