Just stopped in for a grilled cheese. You get your choice of bread and cheese, although I don't know why anyone would choose something other than cheddar on multigrain. My daughter and I stopped by for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by The Stilly Diner. We were seated promptly and the service was wonderful. There were so many menu items to choose from, it all looked amazing. My daughter LOVED their onion rings and raved about their chicken, bacon, and avocado sandwich. Hands down, the best diner around. I would say I come here about once a month and my grandparents are there almost everyday! They don't even have to order anymore because he waitresses always know what they want. Our family is treated as if we are apart of the Stilly family which makes it that much better. I always try something new on the menu and I am never disappointed. Also, during Christmas, they made us three homemade pies to take to our family get together. Yet again, another reason why they're so amazing. This place is pretty small but it is always worth the wait. I'm from lake stevens and drive 15-20 min just for this lovely place. read more

I bought bacon and a cinnamon roll. I had no idea how big the cinnamon rolls were until I got home because I called in and picked up. That was crazy because I opened up a full sized to-go box and found it and it must have been 5lbs. I was able to eat about 1/5 of it and it was good, not amazing though. I would recommend it if you love very sweet cinnamon rolls, but for how big it was I would have enjoyed a more wholesome, savory roll (maybe even with walnuts). The bacon was delicious. I am also grateful that I ordered ahead of time because when I got there on Sunday morning, the line was down the sidewalk. read more

This beautiful town put on a festival this weekend. Eaglefest, and despite the rain, the chainsaw art show, the auction, the art council show and a good old fashion movie playing for the kids in the historic theater was a recipe for an amazing day. Little did I know that this was all an elaborate ruse to get me out of the house for a surprise birthday party. I took my son to town and enjoyed the days spoils. We watched Charlie the cougar stir up the logging village at the theater, we witnessed large chunks of wood transform into bears through chainsaws and torches, we looked long and hard at the giant tires attached to the multiple tractors parked along the sidewalk. The horse drawn taxi took families on a clippity-cloppity tour of Olympic Avenue. We popped in roughly 15 minutes til closing time, I became aware of that fact after we had sat and ordered. I felt bad for imposing, but there was none of that with our server. She made it clear that we were more than welcome! My son ordered a milk and it came with the longest, bendiest, twisty straw ever! It's truly awesome for not dumping milk all over by tipping the cup with those coordination developing hands! Our burgers were on point. De-freaking-licious. I couldn't finish the plate, portions were extremely generous. It was a long day and it took its toll on my 3 year old, which means he started to tired whine, then cry... The Stilly Diner staff all gave me the love and sympathy eyes and got my check in order fast. I thought the little dude would be out by the time we drove home, but he was just as shocked as I was by the house full of people there to surprise me for a birthday party. Brought the wife junkshopping in Arlington and found this place...... Crowded because the locals dig it..... Absolutely full on a Wednesday. Well worth the small wait. Ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, didnt eat it all because the portions were generous, wife ordered a waffle and ham and eggs. Very tasty, well worth a visit..... This was my second time at the Stilly Cafe. My first visit was for breakfast. The food was good, but seriously nothing to write home about. Yesterday I visited the Stilly Cafe for lunch. I ordered fish and chips. And a Root beer shake. The service was friendly, the restaurant felt clean, and as I waited I read the trivia card. My food came hot, the coleslaw was very good, fries tasty, and the fish 4 pieces served, 2 which were excellent, and 1 that was tough. Mean time the waitress came by before the food arrived and told me that she was waiting on a tin for the shake. Half way through the meal the waitress had to be reminded about my shake, it was then promptly made. As I started to drink the shake, I noticed that it wasn't ice cold. Not brain freeze cold. It was like drinking a glass of refrigerated milk. I like to visit the local businesses, and I will return here. Hopefully I can find that one meal that will WOW me, until then I will order my shakes from the Bluebird Cafe. read more

Lets start off with a true diner feel. Seat your, full of locals type of joint. Nice. Coffee is pretty good but don't expect fancy creamer options. But thats okay. Menu is of fair size and covers breakfast options completely. Unless your one of those bangers and mash folks. Service thus far has been great. Smiles and attentiveness all round and unlike the joint down the street it is clean. And yes that is important even for arlington. So to be fair I ordered the same dish I had down the street. I've been here many times over the years. It's good country kitchen food. Nothing has ever disappointed me here but then again nothing has ever surprised. Can be slightly bland at times but never bad and overall good comfort food. My only real complaint is that the portions are ridiculously large and in turn wasteful if the leftovers can't be taken. We have asked for smaller portions before (offering to pay full price for smaller portions) and been told they can't do that. All in all the employees are friendly, the food is good ol' American diner food and it beats the other options in the area. read more

Was told from a buddy good place to eat. Stooped by on a Friday afternoon not a lot of business found a place to sit right away. We were greeted by a young lady that was happy and smiling we ordered breakfast & a burger and fries. We waited quit a while for a slow day we were on a break from work so had limited time. Food finally was brought to the table at first look seemed to be ok. Ended there breakfast plate was almost cold greasy slop! Burger was more of the same dripping grease ok fries, maybe a bad cook day or maybe needs more cooking classes. On are way out the door we felt we were going to fall on greasy floor. Five well-earned stars! Great service, fun, clean atmosphere & appropriately priced. Now the best part-the FOOD! I ordered The Favorite" aptly named! Fresh, ripe avocado, tomatoes, tender, moist chicken & the thick bacon was cooked perfectly! Served on deliciously fresh roll. The portion was perfect-not Cheescake Factory sized but I still took 1/2 of it with me to savor for later! I was especially pleased with the FRESH fruit salad side. Rarely does one get a fruit side with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple & 2 melon varieties. There wasn't an in-ripened piece in the bowl. No rock-hard flavorless honeydew & cantaloupe w/ one pitiful bruised berry. My husband ordered the sausage gravy & biscuits. He is quite the connoisseur of this dish & thoroughly enjoyed the nicely seasoned sausage & creamy gravy (not of the spackle consistency), served over a delicious biscuit.
