We recently held my mother-in-law's celebration of life memorial luncheon at The StoneTerrace, and it was truly special. Brianna, Carol, and Matt took such wonderful care of us -- their warmth and attentiveness meant so much during a hard time. Every dish was delicious, from the pasta to the salmon, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how lovely everything was. Thank you for helping us honor her memory in such a beautiful way. We visited Stone Terrace for Mother's Day Brunch and it was an amazing experience. Carleigh did a great job handling our son's food allergies and showed us what was safe on the buffet. We opted for the $20 drink package for unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Mary's which was a tremendous deal. Rob was attentive to every detail, as always. I think I ate the entire ocean at the raw bar, from shrimp and crabs to claims and oysters. I had 3 helpings. And most importantly, the mothers (my wife and mother) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Came here with my wife for a special dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves! First, the grounds look super nice - I understand that it's also a wedding venue, and I definitely got that vibe. We followed the signs to find the restaurant and there was plenty of parking right outside. We were seated immediately and I loved the dim lighting in the restaurant, although it was maybe a little strange that there were football games playing on two big screen TVs. I was looking for a more romantic setting for our date night, but it wasn't a huge deal. Our server, Will, did a great job throughout. The table bread was very light and airy, and the olive oil served with it was pretty decent tasting. I got the crab cakes for myself, while my wife got the grouper. The food was prepared reasonably quickly, and it was very tasty! In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten different sides (maybe mashed potatoes versus roasted potatoes, and a different veggie instead of green beans), but that's on me :) The menu online didn't have any prices when I looked, so I can inform you guys that the crab cakes were around $35 and the grouper was something like $30. We ended up finishing with the tiramisu, which was also quite tasty and good for sharing! Also, the wine and beer list was OK - I ended up getting some not-so-great pinot noir by the glass, but nothing too offensive. It did look like they had a pretty well stocked bar, so if you're into cocktails, they could probably make you something interesting. Had dinner here with a bunch of friends last week. Service was great but I have to say the pork chop was one of the worst I've ever had. Yes it was a nice size but I found it totally bland without any flavor at all. I'm sure the other entrées were fine but nobody raved about that the food. read more

The service was ok, we had a nice waitress but then she disappeared after we had finished our entrees, so while we normally would've had dessert we were getting frustrated sitting there waiting so we asked a manager for the check and left. Just saw dinner last night at Stone Terrace for a birthday party for my son-in-law. Everything was outstanding,, our waiter Rob was great. I Linguini and lump crab meat fra Diavolo excellent . Other guests had grilled and filet mignon 10 ounce cooked to perfection.. I'll be on is great. The bar is great. A little disappointed with our experience. The food was good and the restaurant was nice but the service lacked. It seems that if you were not a regular, or unless you knew a staff member, you are often forgotten about. My husband and I came for my birthday dinner as soon as they opened for dinner and were there for 2+ hours with majority of the time waiting for our drinks, our food, to be attended to, or the bill. We decided to skip dessert because we didn't know how long we'd have to wait for a menu and then for the dessert. I also got an espresso martini which tasted watered down and the white sangria which was majority juice. Again the food was delicious, but that was about it. read more

Review on behalf of my parents who came here for Valentine's Day. They had a very poor experience with the service, food and pricing. It was a pre-fix menu that indicated no prices, and included a salad, entree and dessert. They were very underwhelmed by the food - even my mom who got the crab cakes which are supposed to be the restaurant's specialty were subpar. They were sold out of almost all dessert options except for a plain vanilla cake with white frosting. They each got one cocktail and the bill came out to nearly $300. read more

My husband and I went here for a night out a few months ago. It was not as great as my hairdresser had made the place up to be. The food was okay, not cheap, but nothing that wowed us AT ALL. Don't bother to tell them your dietary restrictions because they don't pay attention anyway & will bring food out with stuff on it you specifically told them not to & then when you tell them they just take your plate & not bring out a correct one, so then you sit there hungry all night! When they passed out the steak knives they only gave them to people getting steak & I heard the serve say "chicken" & skip me. I would like to commend our waiter, Will, who was awesome. He took good care of us. I unfortunately had a disturbing incident occur. Namely, there was an appetizer on the menu that was marked gluten free and our waiter indicated on our order submitted to the kitchen that our order was for someone who must maintain a gluten free diet due to Celiac Disease. Any amount of gluten will give me severe gastrointestinal issues. We ordered the tuna as an appetizer and we knew with the first bite that the chef had used soy sauce in the recipe. Will went back to the kitchen and confirmed that. Soy sauce contains gluten. Will was mortified by the mistake and I was highly disappointed. We were celebrating an anniversary and the incident ruined our evening. I also felt ill when we returned home Your kitchen needs to take food allergies seriously! If it cannot, then it should not list items as GF on the menu, so patrons know to eat there at their peril. read more

We had our daughter and son-in-laws wedding here on May 18th 2024. From the initial visit to the end of the reception Joelynn's personality and professionalism help them navigate through the process while keeping their stress level to a minimum. She handled the last minute change to an indoor ceremony becuse of weather without missing a beat. We heard rave reviews regarding the food at the Stone Terrace and it did not disappoint. We received many compliments from our guest on the quality of the food during both the reception and cocktail hour. And last but not least the servers and bartenders were quick with a smile, service and very very attentive. Don't go here if you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance. I went here for a work event and was told they'd have GF options available. I was told there would be GF steak and it wasn't. I was able to eat potatoes and wet vegetables. To make up for it they brought out a piece of grilled chicken that had no flavor. No dessert options. read more

I went to a wedding I was invited to there. They had ample parking nice back yard, was outside wedding, Was set up nice, cosy atmosphere. Inside, nice clean bathrooms, nice 'dance hall/ table eating area, unsure if the staff is theirs or the caterer's but they provided sterling service as well, food came out hot and was overall very good throughout. If I had to say one bad thing, the entrance where there is this round large planter in the center you drive around- the driveway should be repaved as it looks a bit shabby, which takes away from the really good place it is. My fiancé and I can here to celebrate two occasions, Valentines Day and the fact that we are getting married here in 2023!!!! The great thing about The Stone Terrace is that it is both a restaurant and venue. I've come here before for baby showers and engagement parties but never visited the restaurant side. Dinner portions are big and food was absolutely out of this world. Due to it being Vday, there was a delay with our food however our server kept us updated on the food status and was very attentive. Spicy calamari was so good and my pork chop was one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and not dry for such a large cut. Pasta was filled with shrimp, scallops and crabmeat. Our server was able to surprise us by having our wedding date written in raspberry syrup on our dessert plate. We are looking forward to celebrating our wedding at The Stone Terrace and can't wait for all of our guests to enjoy their wonderful meals. But most of all, I genuinely cannot wait to come here for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary for years to come. read more

Excellent food and service! Highly recommend this very nice restaurant in nearby Hamilton

I must say that I was a bit apprehensive as we pulled up here. Pretty outside but outdated looking on the inside w/ annoying waiters (for the most part). They really need to update their decor to reflect on their food! I expected the food to be so-so . . . but in reality ... so-so REALLY GOOD!!! We started with a buratta salad that boasted a nice large reddish Jersey tomato and arugula salad w/ a great balsamic. This was shared among 4 people. Along with the . . . HUMONGOUS and borderline obscene meatball appetizer! This thing was so big that it teetered on the side of a meatloaf instead! Because my mom makes the best Italian meatballs I've ever tasted (only 2 people have come close over the years), I was hesitant about tasting this monstrosity! I'm sooooo glad I did though! It tasted sooo very good! Along w/ the meatball was a large dollop of ricotta cheese, two hearty slices of bread and about 3 large carrots that were tasty as well. Over it all was a really good bolognese sauce, including peas. We all enjoyed our dinners - shrimp parm w/ penne, vodka sauce w/ sausage over penne, shrimp scampi and striped bass over risotto. WOW! Unfortunatley, we passed on desserts (which looked stupendous overall) but we each went home w/ doggie bags! Great service with fresh, delicious food. The Seafood Risotto is worth the trip by itself. Crab cakes and crab stuffed shrimp are my personal favorites. I wish I could give 6 stars!!!!! The Stone Terrace has been amazing and gone above and beyond, especially during a pandemic. We had our engagement party, micro wedding reception, bridal shower, and just had our full wedding reception (and after party) on Saturday. They made me feel so comfortable and Joelynn was always available to answer any questions I had. I gave them all of our decorations and they displayed it even better than I could have done myself. And the food - our guests are still raving about the food! Everything was so delicious. Service was amazing as well! I highly recommend having your event(s) here. This review is for the private wine room. Our group of fitness instructors were celebrating the holiday season with a dinner out. The Stone Terrace is local for most of us. We were able to enjoy cocktails and dinner in a quiet room set off the main dining area, which seems very loud. The main area was packed, both the bar and the tables. It's definitely a local scene for an older crowd. The rest of the facility had larger functions going on, ie church Christmas party, weddings... We were very comfortable in our wine room. We could easily talk across the table and move around. The food was your typical Italian fare...F had a giant meatball, which he loved and penne in Alfredo sauce... another thumbs up. I also enjoyed my meal. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. She was always right there to fulfill our requests. I don't know if I would come back to eat in the main dining room, but the wine room is a great spot for a smaller gathering. read more

In addition to a delicious cocktail hour, with plentiful passed h'ors d'oeuvres making rounds frequently, Our servers at table 6 for dinner were excellent! So so so attentive and on point! Water glasses constantly filled, napkins folded, making sure everyone was offered coffee, etc. Just excellent, A++ to the Table 6 guys! I have to add that the food was EXCELLENT! So good we ate way way too much! Penne A la Vodka was amazing, the main chicken course was so good, even the potatoes were delicious.. High quality food, just what you expect in NJ! John Henry's was a popular spot in Chambersburg for many years. You could count on getting very fresh seafood, and a few Italian staples as well. Several years ago they followed other establishments in leaving the "Burg" and finding a new home in the suburbs. This new home was formerly the Italian American club, it was slightly updated and easily expanded the square footage by 10 times or more. Most of this new space is devoted to catering and banquets. A gift certificate brought me here for my second visit( the first one was not impressive and I had no desire to return) I brought 3 others with me, 2 of whom I thought would appreciate the cuisine more than I would. By the end of the meal we all left pretty happy, and this experience exceeded the first. Your meal begins with good bread and seasoned oil, I ordered 2 apps for the table to share. First out was a very good burrata salad, it contained a mound of lightly dressed arugula with a few red onion slices, a ball of burrata that had a balsamic reduction on it, and slices of a very healthy bright red tomato. To see such a nice specimen of the fruit in dead winter had me feeling confident about upcoming courses. This was a great salad to share, but probably more fitting for 2 people($13) Next up was an app called Joe's meatball($15) This dish was so big most of us just gasped when we saw it arrive. Not really spherical, more of a dome, but also weighing in at a minimum of 18 oz. the dome of very good and not too firm meat was drenched in a perfect bolognese, this version containing large carrot chunks, bite sized chunks of stew type beef and many peas. It also featured 2 large dollops of ricotta and 2 slices of grilled bread. Even the 2 meatball snobs in our group( yes, I'm one of them) declared it Nona worthy. Try as we might, we were not going to finish this, almost half came home for a future lunch. The entrees were where the meal took a slight downturn for me. My striped bass special of the evening arrived slightly different than described by Alex. Had I known it would contain olives and capers I probably wouldn't have selected it. But the grilled fish was very good, and the seafood risotto was decent. Trish's shrimp parm looked really good, but the piece I tasted was over salted. She didn't think so though. Our other 2 dining companions seemed to enjoy their pasta dishes, I tasted the shrimp scampi pasta, not garlicky enough for my taste. There were a few service issues. Once our meals were served Alex seemed to disappear. I would have ordered another vino, and a few of us needed our water refilled. After clearing plates and boxing up the other diners leftovers, we had to wait quite some time to see him again. Lastly, and this may not concern many younger readers, our server continuously referred to us as "guys". This does not really bother me, but it DOES really annoy an older female guest we had with us. I know of other people who also find this inappropriate, and in my experience, restaurants with superior service do not address their patrons in such a way. By the time we were leaving, the room we were in and the bar were pretty full. And private rooms were also becoming occupied. I wondered how food and service would be affected with higher volume. So would I return? Without a gift certificate probably not. If I did I would get that meatball as my entree. Always a great spot to dine at when visiting home. Food is delicious (highly recommend the grouper on the menu). We recently had the halibut special with seafood risotto- it was incredible! Aside from dinner, we always enjoy getting drinks at the bar- great atmosphere and cocktail menu. We've attended and hosted a number of events here in their private dining room. My wife and I went to the Stone Terrace yesterday for a family post funeral luncheon and I must say, it was much better than expected. This is the old Italian American Sportsman Club and I haven't been here since the late 60s when my fraternity had their occasional dinner meetings. Quite a transformation. The facility is older than most places but has been maintained and /or redecorated nicely. The decorations and Christmas tree in the lobby were quite nice. They are situated on a large piece of property and the grounds are quite nice. Our lunch started with an excellent salad with oil and vinegar along with a touch of Parmesan which was excellent. Of course, there was a bowl of cheese on the table so you could add more to your taste. We also had a bottle of red and white wine as well - traded the white with another table since we all wanted red. The next course was a family style platter of macaroni (pasta to most people) with a nice, cheesy sauce as well. We all had Macadamia encrusted Tilapia which came with potatoes and green beans. Dessert consisted of a mixed platter of cookies and cakes - also excellent. Considering that this was a luncheon for approximately 50 people in the middle of the afternoon, they did a great job. Don't go there unless you have a reservation for a seat , yes just a seat at the bar . We walked in early , by 5 . Only 4 people at the bar but said we couldn't sit there because all the bar stools are reserved already , for the entire night. Second time this has happened to us. I guess you have to know someone.
