Wonderful birthday dinner tonight at Freshido. I started with a really nice Nikka Single Barrel whiskey neat, and B had an Eclipse Manhattan. I had their delicious miso soup, very flavorful with silky tofu. We then shared an order of soup dumplings, plump and tasty. B ordered the Hanky Panky roll and I had (of course it's my birthday!) the Omikase Sushi and Sashimi dinner. Chef Yang and his kitchen never disappoint. Vibes: Hip, clubby music Food: Menu looked highly promising. Best dishes were the pork soup dumplings and coconut curry soup. Sushi satisfied the craving but was mid. Most disappointing were the drunken noodle and the pad thai. They were drenched and absolutely swimming in the salty sauce. Final Verdict: Would return and try other dishes but hard pass on the noodle dishes. read more

Came here for dinner tonight with a group of 6 and had a reservation. The staff was very kind and attentive. Ordered the following: Pork soup dumplings- delicious juicy good portions (6 pieces per basket) Pork pan fried bao- delicious juicy as well 4 pieces) Kung pao Brussels- very saucy but still good. Always like peanuts with my veggies Sushi combo- beautiful presentation with fresh fish Lo mein chicken- had a bite as this was a take home for the kids but pretty standard noodle dish with sweet sauce hopefully the kids will eat it tomorrow lol Crispy rice with tuna- not too spicy, a little too much on the rice but overall good. Located in a shopping plaza, from the outside it looks closed because it's totally dark but it's open! Easy free parking right in front. As a native Los Angeles girl coming to PA to see my husband's family, I was thrilled that his friend took us here! The best Asian food I've had since I've been coming here 13 years ago. My second time here and I am delighted to see the improvements in their menu and cooking. I brought my mother here and she enjoyed small bites of dim sum dumplings (Sui mai and shrimp dumplings). The owner recommended to me the seafood in a flower basket in XO sauce. I was truly delicious and not overly seasoned or sauced. Seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Bartender made me a perfect 50/50 Grey Goose martini. Highly recommend and we will be back! read more

100% yes. Food is delicious. The menu isn't huge, but it covers a lot of different types. Seafood lovers, meat eaters or vegetarians... there is something for each. Service was quick and friendly. Was seated at a high top and the tables are definitely tiny which I think was the only complaint. Will definitely be back for another visit soon! read more

The atmosphere is great and the vibe is enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service was noticeably slow and they seemed extremely understaffed. Most recent visit, it took 10 minutes just to get water and drinks ordered. The food is good, but I do find it to be overpriced for what you get. The seafood fried rice tastes good; however, it feels a bit misleading. The menu states that it includes blue crab, but the few times I've ordered it, I've only received imitation crab, along with shrimp and calamari. For the price point, that's disappointing. You can order a vegetarian version of many dishes but it still costs the same. A tofu dry pot versus a beef dry pot at the same price point is not market price. That said, the dry pot beef and Kung Pao shrimp were both delicious and flavorful. Their Yellowtail jalapeño is another favorite. read more

Have gone to Freshido a few times with family. Food is excellent. Mongolian beef, orange beef or chicken are all excellent choices. Also love the pepper steak. We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new Freshido location on Linglestown Rd and were fortunate to be able to visit for lunch on their soft opening. The staff were professional and very welcoming from the hostess/server to the bartender. It was nice having a brief chat with the bartender regarding the nice variety of Japanese whiskeys and a solid selection of Bourbons (which will be increasing over time). They also have a good selection of draft beer and wine. Our server was helpful with recommendations and very enthusiastic to be part of the new location. The lunch menu had a nice variety for a soft opening and everything sounded good. We started off with the Freshido Bao Buns, which were very good. The entrees we tried were the Original Shoyu Ramen- loaded with flavor and a good balance of mild heat; Crispy Orange Chicken with lo mein- One of the best orange chicken we have every had, very fresh and cooked perfectly. We are already making plans to return to try their sushi and a few cocktails. Freshido is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Great food, clean bathrooms, safe parking. Try the lettuce wraps. Might not be a place for a picky eater, but they were accommodating. Sushi was fresh. Loved the dumplings. Food and service were both very good but we are very disappointed in the experience. If you are going to charge $4.00 for an ice cube, you should be honest and open about that. We have been charge for water in Switzerland but never for ice and never in the United States. We paid the bill (including several $4.00 ice cubes) and did not say anything to our server. We wanted to enjoy our evening and relax. The thought of an uncomfortable conversation over charging guests $4.00 for ice was not (is not) appealing. read more

Service was awful. My family and I went on a "soft opening" Saturday night. There were 2 other tables occupied in our waitress' section while we were there. The 6 other tables were EMPTY.. I got a lot of blowback from my Google review so the wait staff probably got the memo so now y'all will get better service! The waitress seemed to go out of her way to assist all the other tables except for us as if they were critics for NY Times. The chef even came out to show them their food and not us! The only difference between them and us was that they were white. My husband is black and I'm Asian. We didn't even get refills of water until I had to beg for it at the end of the meal. I was parched. I was testing her to see if she would notice our empty glasses and 20 minutes passed! This 40 yo woman nor the chef checked up on us at all to see how our food was. She only came at the end because she saw my husband didn't eat his food & she had to get him a container. Geez! Rule #1 in waitressing - get diners their liquid. Besides the awful service my husband's Chicken Basil was a coagulated glob of gunk. My salad and sushi were actually good. However, based on the service I will never return to this restaurant again. Tough luck, Freshido, you ain't getting any of my dough during Trump's Recession. As you can see from my reviews here and on Google, I eat out a lot. My money is going to Bangkok 56 & Greystone instead. I will spend thousands over there instead of here. This place and Cafe Fresco are blah. I need to move back to DC. read more

If you think quick-service when you hear "Freshido," this is not that. Freshido Bar & Kitchen is the Freshido Fancy: a full bar, tableside service, an elevated menu, and a relaxing ambiance. (Be sure to look up and check out the upside down crates filled with cascading plants hanging from the ceiling.) I stopped by, planning to order a bowl and go, but ended up dining in and enjoying some sushi and bao. The pork bao were savory and light, if not under-filled--there was a lot of air space inside the bao. The dipping sauce was lovely and complemented the bao well. The sushi rolls (cooked fish only) were nothing extraordinary but they were tasty and present in a visually appealing way. (The giant plume of lettuce coming from the end piece of the shrimp tempura was a bit silly, but it certainly added drama to the look of the dish.) I'm excited to return and try the XLB (soup dumplings) and some of the salmon and tuna sushi. Plus, it looks like they've got a pretty solid happy hour, which I'm hoping to try in the future. read more

Pleasant service, very tasty food! My sister and I visited on the later side on a Thuraday evening and just got a few plates to share. The menu has a variety of Asian fusion dishes with a variety of price points. We enjoyed our California, Shrimp Tempura, and pork bao. It looks like they offer a daily happy hour (although we werent there for that) and weekly specials. Picked up dinner from freshido. I ordered shrimp pad thai, chicken drunken noodles, yellowtail jalapeño and toro yuzu. First bit into toro, I want to spit out.... it was soo fishy. Overpriced, small portions. Order was made wrong and what was made correctly was an extremely small portion. I paid for 3 scoops of tuna and maybe got a total of 8 small cubes. I asked for mango, there was not even 5 small pieces. This was the theme for everything else. And the rice was hard as if it was stale. I also asked for dressing which was not on there.
