BIG mushrooms in broccoli and bamboo shoots side order
    Robert P.

Classy interior of warm wood paneling and GREAT staff. Seemed like they were all family members, they were all that friendly. It helped that my host is a regular. "Greetings Ms. Jones, so nice to see you again Ms. Jones, seat where you like Ms. Jones." She had to tell them I am not Mr. Jones (haha). We shared 2 dishes, one broccoli with bamboo shoots. Wonderful, smooth, creamy but subtle sauce. Big winner but not a main meal. Other was Mandarin Beef, VERY tender. Will return if ever in Diamond Bar again.

I was told that this restaurant has opened for 30+ years, but I've never been to this place until recently. Pros: 1. The ambience of the restaurant is really Chinese, like the ones you see on movies. 2. Owners and servers are friendly and attentive. They do speak English. 3. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken combination plate which has a good portion and you'll be full. In addition, it comes with an egg roll, friend wonton (maybe? not sure what was it, but it's crispy and delicious, and hot and sour soup (the soup was super good). 4. price is fair, $13.99. Cons: 1. I wish the Kung Pao chicken can be less salty and oily. It was not to a point you would feel uncomfortable, but it's my preference to eat healthy. Conclusion: overall i would give this place a solid 4 stars and will be back!

Solid 4.5 Stars Mandarin Taste continues to be a regular lunch stop for our work group. We're here at least twice a month, sometimes more. The staff is always friendly, and service is quick. FOOD: For lunch, they start everyone with a cup of Hot & Sour Soup, which is a favorite of mine, and theirs is one of the best. They also have a good Beef Noodle Soup. Over the last two years, we've tried so many of their dishes and like them all. Some of my favorites are Kung Pao Chicken, Salt & Pepper Pork Chops, Black Pepper Beef, Beef with Broccoli, Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Kung Pao Three Flavors (chicken, beef, & shrimp), Three Ingredients Taste (shrimp, scallop & beef), Dry Sauteed String Beans, Spinach, Wontons, and the Pork Fried Rice. For vegetarians, they have a Homestyle Bean Curd w crispy veggie & tofu. Since we visit during the workday, we either drink soda, hot tea, or water, but they do have House Special Mixed Drinks that look good. It's a fairly large restaurant with nice décor and several areas to host larger groups. Parking is usually decent. Mandarin Taste can accommodate a small, intimate meal, or a large family/group dining experience. I recommend them to all my friends.

I have been eating at Mandarin Taste since I was 4 years old. Since when they used to have to polaroid pictures taped to the wall where you waited for your seat. Since the shopping center was a thriving place for business. I have been gone from the area for years now, but I came home over the summer and after a shopping trip at Brea Mall, I craved some Szechwan beef and nostalgia. Upon walking in, we noticed some small changes. The polaroid pictures are gone (mines was up there!) but everything else was exactly the same. Including the staff. They have of course aged as we all have, but I remember them in their younger years. We ordered all our old favorites. The pu-pu platter, chow mein, fried rice, and Szechwan beef. All of it tasted exactly the way it did the last time we had it. The consistency of this place is insane and much appreciated. The service was good too. I don't have any issues with Mandarin Taste and we always had great food and a good time here over so many years. Graduations, births, birthdays, and job promotions. All celebrated here. It made me sad to see the shopping center as desolate as it was. In the 80's and 90's, it was a busy place and again, many memories being there. I'm glad to see that Mandarin Taste has been able to remain and among so much change, they have been able to stay the same. Thanks for the memories. Please support this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Wow. We really loved the food here. The service was great our waiter was very personable and kind. We couldn't believe it when he said he is 75 years old. He looks so young! We asked his secret, he said "eat Chinese food" lol. The food was delicious we got the Kung Pao three flavor and an order of steamed dumplings (perfect texture and full of filling). The garlic based sauce with ginger was a great compliment to the dumplings. Add in a few spoonfuls of the chili oil they give you and it's AMAZING. It was so good, although we were stuffed, we ordered another order of dumplings and took a few to go. Such a great place with great flavor, authentic food, and a calming ambiance. We will be back!

We went on Sunday evening and service was great! They were busy and out food still arrived fairly quickly. The food is delicious! Loved the egg rolls, string beans, Mongolian beef! We would skip the chicken kung pao just cause it lacked flavor. Great atmosphere overall! We would return!

Delicious food and definitely come back!Really nice restaurant to enjoy the time with family!

    We got the corner booth.

I am allergic to seafood (including fish sauce, fish flakes, etc). What dishes do you have that are not made with any seafood products?

Do they have a lunch buffet? If so, what days/times and how much is it per person?

I don't believe they have a lunch buffet (or any buffet) on weekdays. I do know they have brunch on sundays that lasts for 2 or 3 hours from open and that is $22 per adult and $14 per child.

While waiting for our food orders from other spots, my friends and I hung out at the Piju Social Hour bar. As the re-grand opening special, they had a buy 1 get one for 5 cents deal, but their regular prices are already a great deal. My friends had the Hotter Than the Dickens ($13) and Kirin ($7.99) for both rounds. I started off with a Lychee For Me ($12) and then a Sangria ($?). We all enjoyed our drinks. If I had to give feedback to the business I would like the lychee for me to have some fresh fruit lychee as a garnish, and some diced apples in the sangria for a fruity bite. We also got a glass with 2 transaction as a part of the re-grand opening special. It was a nice surprise! Amazing location. Great place to grab a drink while hanging out at the food hall or waiting for your other food orders. They also have a TV and very friendly staff to keep you company. They even gave these complimentary spicy peanuts and spicy lobster chips. It was just too spicy for me. Will definitely be back to Piju Social Hour the next time I visit the Chino Hills Cravings by 99 Ranch food hall! Cheers!!

Our food came in waves, which was great because we were busy watching the music videos. They were super distracting and mesmerizing. I believe the kimchi pancakes were fantastic! Their French fries were on the drier side. Their cheese corn was loaded to the top and very good for their portion size. I think the bulgogi tacos were okay but a bit much. The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.
