1lb shrimp combo - asian pepper
    Kevin L.

[FOOD] 1lb shrimp combo with asian pepper (mala) sauce - this came with 1lb of shrimp, sausages, corn, and some potatoes. Honestly, for 18 bucks this was a LOT of food. It can definitely feed 2 people. The sauce was very savory and packed the sichuan spices from China, a very adventurous take on cajun seafood. It was bomb. Garlic noodles - I was skeptical but the minced beef or whatever it comes with is hella good. I threw it on the rice instead. Rice - As Chinese person, I know my rice. This was GOOD rice. Just the right amount of stickiness. [SERVICE] Great! [PLACE] Tiny lil mom and pop shop in an odd plaza. Lots of parking tho. They definitely would benefit a lot if they moved somewhere with more traffic such as the center of Rowland Heights. [VERDICT] For 18 bucks I can get a generous portion of Asian cajun seafood that can feed me TWICE. 5/5!

    Inside. So clean, so beautiful

Boiling crab WHO? Kicking crab WHO? When I tell you you need to go to Shell Seafood Shack, you need to RUN. I'm an Island Gyal so we are people of the sea & this place has the BEST seafood boil I've ever had. Clean restaurant, interior decor on point but most importantly fresh savory seafood choices, home friendly service & pocket friendly (IYKYK seafood boils Can get pricey $$$). When you understand how the menu/system works you'll see you are actually getting an amazing deal (more bang for your buck). Sausages, potatoes & Corns already included in your order. They have add ons if you are looking to add more to your order. You get SO MUCH FOOD! One order can feed two easily. Garlic bread toasted to perfection w/a nice even cover of butter & garlic. Sweet potatoes fries have a crisp crunch on the outside and soft on the inside lightly topped off w/a dash of sugar. So yummy. I always end up ordering more. They have the "good rice" so you know it's already a winner. And their water doesn't taste like pipes and is served from a filtered pitcher. The shrimp are BIG pieces of shrimp. The sizing of the shrimp they use is easily 16-20. In comparison to Boiling crab, or Kicking crab, or any seafood boil place that I've been to they use shrimp size 26-30 which is a small. Shell Seafood Shack uses Large shrimp (there's only two sizes bigger than this, Jumbo & Colossal) so now you know you are getting quality pieces. I love my shrimp with the shell on & for the first time ever, I've NEVER been to a restaurant that had Deveined Shell on shrimp! Just clean. Crab legs are crab legs, can never ever go wrong with crab legs. Our snow crab leg clusters always have meat. I usually get them steamed to the side with no seasoning & ask for butter on the side. Sausages aren't spicy, they are regular sausages. Corn is sweet & potatoes are firm enough to bite into it with ease. The mixings...whew FIRE! Not spicy unless you want it to be. Not salty like most places and just had a different flavor that makes you want to dip for more. I mix all of them together. BANGBANG shrimp is def what it says. Sooo good. It's breaded fried shrimp topped with their BANGBANG sauce. Similar to a sweet & sour sauce but not quite like s&s. TRY IT! My brother finished his whole pan that had mussels, crawfish included and said it's the best he had. He lived in the south for about 6 years. Then we were offered a complimentary serving of beignets. As if this place couldn't do more, they have this for a dessert. So light after eating heavy so you don't feel as guilty lol. What I love most aside from everything tasting delicious, is that everything is served in a pan. BEST IDEA EVER! Depending on how big your order is, is how big the foil pan you receive. It's so convenient bc then you can just put on the lid and take your left overs to go. They don't give you those tacky breakable gloves you usually get at seafood places, they offer the good quality gloves & bibs. ALCOHOL is near in the future. Mark is working his magic to make that happen and says the time frame to serve will hopefully be a month or two. He makes a killer shoju!!! So once that's up and running, it's a done deal. This is the greatest seafood place ever. And trust me when I say I've been to plenty to taste and this small hidden gem outshines them ALL! Do yourself a favor and make the drive here to support a family owned business. I would not steer you away from something this good. 2 for one deal, you put your money towards a hard working family and in return you get MORE for what you paid. They are a new business and I Promise you, you will come back for more after the first time like US. Thank you Shell Seafood shack.

A week ago I was looking for something new to eat in Chino Hills and found this place. We came on Friday evening We ordered 1 dock combo meal. And chose 1 pound of shrimps and 1/2 pound of mussels. It came with pieces of sausages, mini corn on the cob, and potatoes. We picked Cajun mix as our sauce. For our two side we picked rice and the garlic noodles. They also had the option for garlic bread as well. The portion was perfect for 3 adults. For dessert we tried their beignets. It came with 8 pieces and was topped with powdered sugar. The food was amazing delicious. We will absolutely will come back to try other seafood items. If you are seafood lovers, come try this restaurant. The service was wonderful at this cute little place. Our server was really nice and checked up on us when we needed anything.

    Oh the Beignets! So good.

Woah! This was an excellent surprise and delight!! I was skeptical at first but oh my! Everything was so delicious and so plentiful! I honestly didn't know what to expect so when this mass amount of food showed up at the table looking so good and smelling equally as wonderful I was so excited to dive in! Everything tasted great! Perfectly cooked, and the sauces and sides complimented everything perfectly. We will absolutely be coming back! Oh! And you probably won't have room for them but force them in, they are worth it!... the beignets !! Oh the Beignets.... So good!

New seafood place opened in Chino Hills area! I love their fresh shrimp (easily peeled off) and garlicky garlic sauce. Everything included was around $30, super affordable for seafood meal nowadays. Servers were very attentive, they made sure we never ran out of water. We chatted with the server after our meal, they recommended cajun + lemon pepper butter sauce if you're a fan of "whole shabang" from you-know-where can't wait to come back and try it with their fresh seafood!

1lbs shrimp and FRIED CALAMARI BASKET
    Paula K.

My husband and I stopped by the shell seafood shack during their soft opening. When we first saw the menu, we thought it was pretty pricey. However, we didn't know the pound of shrimp price included sausages, potatoes, corn, AND a side of carb! The pound of shrimp with Cajun sauce was very delicious. The shrimps were freshly prepared as we ordered - the kitchen is semi open concept and we were able to see them cook. Shrimps are headless for those who doesn't like to look at shrimp heads. The portion was pretty big. We ordered a pound of shrimp and fried calamari and we were so full and barely finished all the food. We came back couple days later and got the whole fried fish. It came with two sauces (forgot what they were but the sauces were very good too). It was so good and crispy. My husband was very happy with this dish and he wants to order again. This is a family owned business and as of now, the dad cooks while the son takes the order. Overall, we are very happy with this place. Will come back to try more food!

The food was delicious. We ordered tray #2 for 3 people and it was more than enough. We had about 1 lb to take home. We tried garlic butter sauce and Cajun sauce they were both good. I learned they just opened 2 months ago. It's small with about 6 tables but we had no issue getting a table. Many ppl were picking up to go orders. The staff is very nice and continued to check in on us. If you're in the area you must try this place. The lobster was so tender and cooked perfectly. Give this place a shot it's delicious and not overly priced!!

Shrimp and squid combo in garlic butter sauce

Pretty good. Portion is pretty generous. I got the garlic butter since it was non spicy. Squid was added and it did not disappoint.

Located in the McDonalds/Dollar Tree Center. The shrimp/sausage/corn/potatoes (seafood boil) combo is $18, and it's enough for two big eaters. Awesome deal!! You also get garlic butter noodles and garlic bread. You can choose peeled or non peeled shrimp. Order extra noodles because the noodles provided with with meal is only enough for one big eater. There are lots of other seafood choices including lobster tails and Calamari. The combo doesn't come in a bag, but in a foil pan, no clean-up :) Not a heavy sauce, but a lighter garlic oil. you can choose two seasoning profiles to mix. Closed on Mondays.

    Shrimp and snow crab
    Adam P.

I saw a few people talking about this new restaurant in Chino Hills, so I have to try it for myself. The way you order is not that clear at first glance, but when you realize how it works, you know you are getting quite a deal. For example, we ordered the 1lb of shrimp for $16.99 (it's a market price and can change), but you actually get a tray of shrimp with corn, sausage, and potatoes. You also get to choose 2 carbs: rice, noodles, or garlic bread. So we ordered the shrimp and the snow crab, and had them put it all in one larger tray. I'll say the snow crab is not as thick and full as a similar style business in the area, but it's also significantly lower priced. I'll take that! The shrimp though, I would order that every week. And they even peel it for you making it so clean and easy to eat. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's a big tray.

Delicious food and great service at this small restaurant in Chino Hills in the same center as McD on Chino Hills Pkwy. We were happy to support local small business owners. Fresh seafood, good flavor. The snow crab meat was a bit too salty but that's probably the supplier's fault, not the restaurant. We got the Cajun mix and garlic butter sauces combined and it was delicious. Didn't like their sausage as it tasted more like hot dog. Super sweet corn. Soft and tasty garlic toast. Pasta was a tad overcooked, a minute less would have been a perfect al dente. No alcohol available Beer or wine would have been nice with this meal. Overall, we liked the food and service. Recommend.

Great place for spicy shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn on the cob. Hidden gem for sure. Mark Lee is very passionate about what he prepares. Better than any other shrimp and crap place hands down. Try it once. You'll be back.

I arrived at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) on Saturday (around 9:45AM). Parking is easy. There's a wide private parking lot. Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) includes an area to purchase prepackaged snacks (like a convenience store) and a counter (with sizzling food on hot trays). The ordering process is fast since customers just point at precooked items - similar to Panda Express. Staff is cordial and friendly. An elderly staff member would place the selected food in a container. Cashier (receipt says Maricar) is also hardworking and professional. Staff speaks Tagalog and English. Despite the long line of customers, the process flowed quickly. The food is fairly good. The Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) comes with Garlic Fried Rice and Fried Egg. The three big Longanisa (aka: Sausage) came very plump, juicy, and wet. The Fried Egg tasted clean & fresh. Unfortunately, I hated the Garlic Fried Rice. It tasted dry, coarse, and chewy. That rice was left out for too long. Concerning the Palabok (16oz - $14.99), this dish came flavorful but very cold. Regardless, I enjoyed its wet and zesty sauce. I liked how its noodles felt soft and moist. And I enjoyed the powdered Chicharon (aka: crushed deep fried pork) which added a comforting, crisp texture. The shrimps had a nice chew, but they tasted somewhat rubbery. Concerning ambiance, Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) is surprisingly enchanting. I appreciated the dining area's floral decorations & glittering lights. The location is also relatively clean. Some tables had small bits of crumbs, but the floors were very well-swept. There's even an outside sink for cleanliness near the dining room. Unfortunately, the restroom is out-of-order. Still, I appreciated how the interior felt airy and well-ventilated. Overall, I had a good experience at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills). Although some options didn't taste the freshest, the food captured some enjoyable flavors & textures. It's a "not-bad" location. 4.3 out of 5

The battered fish and shrimp in each were generously portioned and the cabbage toppings on each were not only refreshing but eye appealing as well. Although the tacos hit the spot, I have to be honest about the rice and beans, as being an Angelo--if the spot has legit Rice n Beans, then everything else on the menu is spot on. Can't say this holds true for this spot, as it was quite literally the worst rice and beans Ive ever had from an establishment touting Mexican (style) food. I opened the takeout container of rice and was disappointed to say the least, it was just a helping of white rice-- the same as you would get at Chinese takeout. The beans? Even worse than the rice. I sat for a while trying to figure out how to not toss them out, as that would be throwing money away. I'm still pondering.... Go for the tacos, stay clear of the R&B.

I had both charges removed and I highly recommend the workers be upfront with customers before they print the receipt. Anything that is an extra charge or additional fee should be mentioned beforehand as to not sour the experience and to avoid printing multiple copies. For instance, ask the customer if they want avocado or not and mention the charge and when they're ready to pay the bill ask how they'd like to pay and be transparent beforehand about any fees associated with their choice of payment. As a customer, the experience is better when employees are kindly upfront. After I paid I wasn't given back my receipt so I did ask for it. While I waited they gave me some chips and the food came out within 5 mins. It was quick. I took it home and enjoyed it. Its not the best ceviche I've had but it was decent. They gave me a bag full of tostados, crackers, lime, and multiple sauces. The fries were soft but the flavor was alright. The white queso sauce they included with the fries saved it. No ketchup, utensils, or napkins were given. However, the portions of ceviche and fries were fairly big and can be eaten twice or by 2 people. 3.5 stars overall.

Food quality is consistent with the Chino Hills location. Noah, who was an excellent server at that…read morelocation, is at this location now and his service is just as great. (Not sure if he's the manager now or a different person, but every server here is polite and efficient). We get the kickin combo #1, kickin style, mild with shrimp and mussels; fried oysters; garlic noodles. I feel like the sausages at this location are bigger compared to CH. Food comes out reasonably fast. Restrooms are always clean. There are sinks outside to wash your hands as well.

Our usual order is 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of mussels, and we've always been happy with it. This time, we decided to try the Combo #2 because we wanted to add crab legs. We ordered three combo bags, each with shrimp, mussels, and crab legs. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like there was anywhere close to 1lb each of shrimp and mussels in the bags. I can't prove it, so I can only share our experience, but it honestly felt like there were fewer than 15 shrimp in the bag. For the first time ever, we finished our meal and were still hungry afterward. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering the combo bag. Not only did it seem like there was significantly less food, but with all the ingredients piled together, some items ended up overcooked. We were really disappointed because we've had consistently good experiences with multiple locations here over the years. Hopefully this was just an off day, but we'll be sticking with ordering the seafood separately next time.

The outside of the establishment may not be entirely appealing, but what awaits within is sure to warm your heart. Eating their food feels like an ode from the heart. It is reminiscent of pulling off to the side of the road to a Mariscos food truck in Tijuana. The food is comforting and reminds you of how Hispanic culture brings people together through food and music. All the staff here is very kind and have a lively spirit. As you are enjoying your food it is warming to hear them laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Bad Bunny music of course. I had the Tostada Mixta pictured below and believe it or not I had already dug in and eaten a whole tostada by the time I remembered to snap a pic. The portions are very generous and for the price, can't be beat! The Tacos de Camaron are flavor packed with every bite. These are freshly cooked to order and you can tell by the temperature, be careful. I can't describe them to anything else I have had in the past as they are so unique in the best way. Not pictured is the aguachiles. As spicy as they are, I couldn't find myself putting them down. The flavor keeps you hooked wanting more and more. I am excited to try out a Coctel next and am positive I will have nothing but praise. Definitely worth a try if you are ever out in the area or just passing by. The bang for your buck and the flavor held in each morsel which be nothing short of satisfactory.

5/1/2026 Been so…read morelong since I've had a pan roast! I thought there weren't any more places that make pan roasts, but happy to have found one in Chino Hills! HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! Only one server, but she checked back with everyone and all around better than most places I've been at recently. Lots of people came in 30-40 mins before closing time. Still, service was friendly and they weren't turned away. LOCATION At The Commons at Chino Hills. This is a large outdoor mall and have many parking spaces.

Hey Jackson, Instead…read moreof giving me an imaginary prize for being relentless, I would much rather appreciate your business taking accountability for the really poor service I had to experience in order to get a basic refund as a result of a mistake that was clearly from your restaurant. I can definitely be more upfront about my dietary needs moving forward when ordering, but even your employee admitted over the phone that chicken is not automatically part of the item that I ordered. If your staff wanted to add chicken to an item that should be seafood only, perhaps they should have asked if I was okay with that. After communicating with your employee about my concerns, I realized that the mistake on the food was secondary compared to the horrendous service I experienced when I shared my concerns. In your reply, you failed to mention anything regarding customer service that I mentioned, so let me say these facts again. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff. I will never again feel comfortable stepping inside your restaurant that is careless enough to scoop an item that was already made with chicken in it instead of making a fresh one with only seafood then try to pressure a customer to sign a claims release to protect yourselves. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that and neither should anyone else.
