    Shrimp (Head-On)
    Lauren D.

Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work. It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. The workers at the Kickin' Crab location we usually go to are way more laidback and friendlier, yet still maintain impeccable service. Would not return.

    Broken legs of crawfish

Ordered 4 lbs of crawfish and received mostly broken legs, with only a few whole crawfish. Very poor value for the money. The portion was misleading and extremely disappointing. Would not recommend.

One of the best Cajun spots around. Been coking here for about 10 years now. Customer service here has always been good, and even if you are picking up an online order , they staff will take care of you . There are plenty of Flatscreen T.V.'s that hang on the walls in the main dining area , and they usually have the game on . Their kicking spicy spicy flavor is delicious and is very spicy , (you've been warned )Ill be back for sure in the near future, it's my favorite spot for a Cajun Don't forget the garlic noodles! The noodles pair well with their sauces . Till next time, peace !

2lbs Shrimp, 1lb Mussels, Sausage, Corn, Garlic Noodles, And Steamed Rice

I always come to this spot or Shrimp Factory in Moreno Valley. I prefer Shrimp Factory within 50 miles but this place is second best. 80% of the time the food is really delicious and tasty. There are a few times where I had a water down sauce. I like my seafood boil sauce with everything mixed and a little spicy. The prices are decent but its been increasing in price. I went here with my friend and we both eat a lot. We ordered 2lbs of headless shrimp, 1lb of mussels, sausage, potatoes and corn. We added Garlic Noodles and rice on top. Everything came out to $98 which to me is overpriced compared to Shrimp Factory. The staff is always on point. They're always friendly and quick to get your order. They always treat me nicely. I love their staff. It has a nice atmosphere and it always seems clean. It's convenient that they have a sink outside the restrooms for a quick wash when you get down and dirty with the boils. I believe they earned 5 stars although sometimes it could lack flavor once in a while. Just let them know to make sure its not water down haha.

Overall, a great experience! We visited on a Thursday around 6 PM and were seated quickly, which was a great start. The customer service was great, and attentive. The food was delicious and definitely did not disappoint. As the restaurant got busier throughout the evening, the servers continued to move efficiently and provide great service.

I take Kicking Crabs over Crabs N Spice. Kicking crab has been my favorite spot for cajun seafood. I went to several places since I lived in LB, the one in Corona is always great, I did a lot of to-go. Chino location is nice, we can hangout and do some shopping. Great service, not long wait, just depends on which days.

A lot of room for improvement in terms of service. Will not be returning. Food wasn't exceptional that it would out weigh the service. We were ready after 3 minutes, took them a minute to bring us the bib and tell us where the menu was at. But took them about 10 to get back to us to take the order. Got checked on once during the meal. Had to get up ourselves to get gloves, and whatever else we needed. Seafood boil is messy, it should be expected that tools and gloves are needed. Provided one crab/lobster cracker for two people despite there only being 3-4 tables of 4 or less people. There was also no crab meat grabber tool so it was hard to pull/grab the crab meat out after using the cracker. Food was pretty good. Got what we expected in terms of the Louisiana sauce. Calamari was well seasoned.

Although I can't eat crustaceans (a tragic foodie-life altering allergy), the fried oysters and sweet potatoes fries were delicious. The ambiance was so inviting and the owners worked hard to make everyone feel welcomed, recognized, and like they were meant to be there. You can tell this is a labor of love with all the personal touches and revitalization of the building. Can't wait to see them thrive!

I arrived at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) on Saturday (around 9:45AM). Parking is easy. There's a wide private parking lot. Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) includes an area to purchase prepackaged snacks (like a convenience store) and a counter (with sizzling food on hot trays). The ordering process is fast since customers just point at precooked items - similar to Panda Express. Staff is cordial and friendly. An elderly staff member would place the selected food in a container. Cashier (receipt says Maricar) is also hardworking and professional. Staff speaks Tagalog and English. Despite the long line of customers, the process flowed quickly. The food is fairly good. The Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) comes with Garlic Fried Rice and Fried Egg. The three big Longanisa (aka: Sausage) came very plump, juicy, and wet. The Fried Egg tasted clean & fresh. Unfortunately, I hated the Garlic Fried Rice. It tasted dry, coarse, and chewy. That rice was left out for too long. Concerning the Palabok (16oz - $14.99), this dish came flavorful but very cold. Regardless, I enjoyed its wet and zesty sauce. I liked how its noodles felt soft and moist. And I enjoyed the powdered Chicharon (aka: crushed deep fried pork) which added a comforting, crisp texture. The shrimps had a nice chew, but they tasted somewhat rubbery. Concerning ambiance, Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) is surprisingly enchanting. I appreciated the dining area's floral decorations & glittering lights. The location is also relatively clean. Some tables had small bits of crumbs, but the floors were very well-swept. There's even an outside sink for cleanliness near the dining room. Unfortunately, the restroom is out-of-order. Still, I appreciated how the interior felt airy and well-ventilated. Overall, I had a good experience at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills). Although some options didn't taste the freshest, the food captured some enjoyable flavors & textures. It's a "not-bad" location. 4.3 out of 5

The total came out to $52+ (including CAs seemingly mandatory these days tip). The friendly employee gave us our receipt, order number and beverage cup, and we waited. In contrast to other reviewers apparently short wait times, we sat waiting around a half hour for our take out order to be delivered to us at our table. We headed back home as soon as we got our order and the food held up very nicely. Id say the tacos were delicious and very filing. The battered fish and shrimp in each were generously portioned and the cabbage toppings on each were not only refreshing but eye appealing as well. Although the tacos hit the spot, I have to be honest about the rice and beans, as being an Angelo--if the spot has legit Rice n Beans, then everything else on the menu is spot on. Can't say this holds true for this spot, as it was quite literally the worst rice and beans Ive ever had from an establishment touting Mexican (style) food. I opened the takeout container of rice and was disappointed to say the least, it was just a helping of white rice-- the same as you would get at Chinese takeout. The beans? Even worse than the rice. I sat for a while trying to figure out how to not toss them out, as that would be throwing money away. I'm still pondering.... Go for the tacos, stay clear of the R&B.

HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! Only one server, but she checked back with everyone and all around better than most places I've been at recently. Lots of people came in 30-40 mins before closing time. Still, service was friendly and they weren't turned away. LOCATION At The Commons at Chino Hills. This is a large outdoor mall and have many parking spaces.

Hey Jackson, Instead…read moreof giving me an imaginary prize for being relentless, I would much rather appreciate your business taking accountability for the really poor service I had to experience in order to get a basic refund as a result of a mistake that was clearly from your restaurant. I can definitely be more upfront about my dietary needs moving forward when ordering, but even your employee admitted over the phone that chicken is not automatically part of the item that I ordered. If your staff wanted to add chicken to an item that should be seafood only, perhaps they should have asked if I was okay with that. After communicating with your employee about my concerns, I realized that the mistake on the food was secondary compared to the horrendous service I experienced when I shared my concerns. In your reply, you failed to mention anything regarding customer service that I mentioned, so let me say these facts again. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff. I will never again feel comfortable stepping inside your restaurant that is careless enough to scoop an item that was already made with chicken in it instead of making a fresh one with only seafood then try to pressure a customer to sign a claims release to protect yourselves. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that and neither should anyone else.

We've been ordering take out from Formosa Bento for a very long time and the flavors are authentic…read more Even my boomer mom who is incredibly picky about what she enjoys eating their food. However, their service and treatment towards their customers is an entirely different story. Yesterday we decided to dine in and I know have a different experience and will probably not ever go back. The woman working there truly hates her job and is incredibly loud and rude. This is not the Taiwanese experience that probably most people expect, which is warm, pleasant, helpful. She is literally barking orders to customers and shouting instructions and order numbers out. For instance, we ordered 4 bentos and instead of her checking with the cook when everything was ready, she called it out one by one and was annoyed if we didn't immediately get it. Every little thing seemed to upset her, why is there even a sweetness level to winter melon tea when it's not possible, and she wanted to let us know how annoyed she is. The food took incredibly long to get. 3 out of the 4 bentos took 15-20 minutes, and the last item took another 15-20 minutes so we couldn't even eat together at the same time. If you enjoy being scolded by an old asian lady who glaring at your table while you eat, and walking by barking orders at anyone in general, "you need to throw away your own food!" It's like, lady, we aren't even finished yet. For the price of the food, you would expect much better service, or at least someone who hates their job but keeps their muttering and bad behavior to a minimum. Or perhaps invest in some robot servers who can bring out the food without guests having to walk up several times to retrieve every single bento box. If I wanted this toxic environment, I would go see my mother and mother in law. Needless to say, it was so off putting that I will stop supporting this place.
