Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work. It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. One of the best Cajun spots around. Been coking here for about 10 years now. Customer service here has always been good, and even if you are picking up an online order , they staff will take care of you . There are plenty of Flatscreen T.V.'s that hang on the walls in the main dining area , and they usually have the game on . I always come to this spot or Shrimp Factory in Moreno Valley. I prefer Shrimp Factory within 50 miles but this place is second best. 80% of the time the food is really delicious and tasty. There are a few times where I had a water down sauce. I like my seafood boil sauce with everything mixed and a little spicy. The prices are decent but its been increasing in price. I went here with my friend and we both eat a lot. We ordered 2lbs of headless shrimp, 1lb of mussels, sausage, potatoes and corn. We added Garlic Noodles and rice on top. Everything came out to $98 which to me is overpriced compared to Shrimp Factory. The staff is always on point. They're always friendly and quick to get your order. They always treat me nicely. I love their staff. It has a nice atmosphere and it always seems clean. It's convenient that they have a sink outside the restrooms for a quick wash when you get down and dirty with the boils. I believe they earned 5 stars although sometimes it could lack flavor once in a while. Just let them know to make sure its not water down haha. read more

Provided one crab/lobster cracker for two people despite there only being 3-4 tables of 4 or less people. I've been to this Kickin' Crab location multiple times This visit had me thinking, "Adrian, where the hell have you been, loca?" The food is always bussin' and consistently so good. You can never go wrong with the garlic noodles -- easily a 10/10. Adrian was our server today, and he was absolutely the star of the show. We felt like the sauce was a little lacking in spice, and once we let Adrian know, he immediately responded with such a positive attitude and said he'd fix it for us. I am quite disappointed at my final experience here at the Chino Hills location such horrible customer service. We ordered a medium mixed bag that came out mild and when we asked for some more spice (because we have been here enough times to know what medium tastes like) and were met with rudeness and snarky comments. Our drink came out after our food. A worker came back from eating and rather than washing their hands they proceeded to give out fries/other food with their unwashed hands. Although the wait time to sit was about an hour, we were treated to attentive service and quick delivery of our order. We went in on Combo Deal #3, and let me tell you -- that Dungeness crab + mussels + double shrimp (head-on, of course) combo was a whole experience. Started things off with their Cajun edamame (spicy, addicting) and crispy fried calamari, and it was game over after that. The food is great! My go-to seafood boil is usually Boiling Crab, but I remember trying The Kickin' Crab a few years ago with my friend and decided to give it another shot today. Similar to my last visit from a few years ago, the food was great. I ordered a pound of shrimp and it did not disappoint. I honestly prefer The Kickin' Crab over Boiling Crab as they have more appetizer options and other plate varieties. The only issue we had was the lack of customer service at the hostess stand. We walked in and there was a huge line of other customers who had not been helped. After maybe 10 minutes, a hostess came up and took our names to put our name down and the restaurant didn't seem too busy. Adrian made my first experience so amazing ! We couldn't have asked for a better host. I had never been here before and my friends brought me here for an early birthday celebration and it was quite the experience. From the delicious cajun fries, to the mild cajun shrimp it was all amazing. I forgot to capture the before photo, it was just all perfectly portioned and the flavor was finger licking good! Adrian was so attentive to our needs and made the experience so smooth! The kickin crab is so lucky to have him. ! He made suggestions and answered all of our questions when it came to flavors, textures and wasn't pushy at all like many other restaurants. HE really knows what he's doing. His smile was so welcoming and it was so genuine , unlike other hostess that roll their eyes , he was spot on down to earth, just what a restaurant needs ! The restrooms were clean, kind of unfortunate that the sink in the restroom was out of order, but life happens and there was a sink right outside. There were plenty of sinks throughout the restaurant making it accessible to wash your hands every so often. Parking is ample and checking out was so quick and easy. Food is great. You'll get everything you can expect from a seafood boil joint. I like getting the shrimp with the kicking style. The mussels are good too. The fries are also recommended. Service is quick as well and your food comes out in timely fashion. The vibe was chill, they have a great music playlist and have plenty of TVs for customers to watch while they dine. My only complaint is the oysters are very tiny. We ordered a half dozen of oysters which is priced at $18.99. The oysters were so small, not worth it. For comparison, I've been to another seafood boil spot and the oysters were much more meaty (roughly the size of the meat part of your palm). The ones we received were barely bigger than a thumbnail. I'm not sure if it depends on the season... anyways, we wished they gave us a heads up. But other than that, the shrimp, mussels, fries, rice, appetizers are good! We came right as they opened and we were seated immediately. The menu is listed on the QR code on the napkin container. We each got a lb of shrimp to our liking as well as an order of Garlic Butter Noodles. If you haven't tried the noods yet, you're sleeping on them! They're so simple but so good! There's a lot of seating available here. This space is huge. I appreciate that the handwashing sink is outside of the bathrooms. The only thing is that sometimes, it's hard to grab the staff's attention. There was a couple times that I made eye contact and had my hand raised up, but they looked away. I got on the waitlist on Yelp as I have done for many years and yesterday when I went they said they don't use that anymore. So then why have the option on Yelp? Take it off so people don't go in with the expectation that they are a certain place in line. I have been to the new one in Montclair and the service food and quality just seems to be better over there. I don't know if it's because they're less busy, but I usually get the muscles and for the pound I would get anywhere from 21 to 24 pieces and for this visit I got 16 just overall disappointment every single time hopefully they get better or hire more people. read more
