Frequently been coming here for a couple years now. Never had a problem with the food. Usually an enjoyable experience. As of late the staff has been getting more nasty and less hygienic. We ate there last night. We ordered some of the bakery items to go after our dinner. We asked how much the mini macaroons were. The gentleman stated clearly .50 cents each. So we got a few for the our group. We noticed when we got home they charged us 50 dollars for the mini macaroons. We figured, must of been a mistake, not a problem, we will call in the morning to straighten it out. When we called in the morning and explained what happened we were immediately given an attitude and told that the Mini macaroons were 3 dollars each! We told them that is not what we were told last night. We were given more attitude and hung up on. Shame on us for not verifying the check before leaving. However this customer service is unacceptable. They just lost frequently reoccurring customers because of a mistake on their end they refused to fix. read more

Good diner, great place to meet. My friend had the meat loaf, which was extremely garlicy but he likes it like that. I had fish & chips and thought it was great. It's a diner, the menu is extensive, and it's one of the decent options in the area. If you're looking for a diner, this is a pretty good one. Service was very good. read more

Suburban Diner is a pretty nice diner on Route 17. The parking is a hit or miss on the weekends and every time I have come it's busy but don't let that stop you!! Ok so the #1 thing I come here for AND LITERALLY CRAVE ALL OF THE TIME!!! Is their Mexi-Cali Tortilla salad. It's healthy, tasty, and so filling. Mixed greens, black beans, corn, tomato, red onions, avocado, shredded jack & cheddar cheese, spicy buffalo chicken strips in a crunchy tortilla with honey lime dressing on top which I'm obsessed with. I have ordered similar salads at different diners and they were gross. This salad is literally my favorite salad ever. It's so so so good. I've also had the Nutella smores pancakes here and they are soooo good. And I love the Mediterranean Benedict. It's toasted pita bread with poached eggs, feta cheese, sliced tomatoes and spinach. It also comes with homefries. The portions are humongous. The service is always great here. It's always clean. I mean ya can't ask for much more! I'll be back soon for my salad haha read more

The place looks very modern which was aesthetically great. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with curly fries which was delicious but I definitely had better.. It also came with cole slaw on the side which I thought was better than most. My only complaint would be our waitress.. Our group understands that it was busy, but that shouldn't stop them from treating us like real customers. There was not any interest on getting to know us or making us feel comfortable in anyway. Recently discovered this diner. It has cool diner ambience and is very clean. The food is great. Our favorites so far are the southwestern theme salad in the taco shell w steak and their soups. As soon as we sat down our hostess asked what we wanted to drink and by we I mean she simply looked at my friend and took her order for both of us. She completely ignored me. Fine, alright. When she came back for our order I asked about the quesadillas because the menu said 'pizza style" and I didn't know what they meant by that. The woman talked me down like a toddler. We weren't ready to order & she left super fast, didn't even ask if we had any questions about anything on the menu. $13 dollars for a cold and tasteless waffle that was half the size that they used to be. On par with an Eggo. Sausage was cold. Eggs were cold. The coffee mugs are also much smaller - a step up from a shot glass. This place has really gone downhill. I bought frozen pancakes the other day and they were better than what I got at Suburban Diner. I bought frozen waffles and frozen pancakes for the cost of the one terrible waffle I got from Suburban Diner. It used to be a treat to go out for breakfast - now, not so much. Suburban Diner absolutely deserves way more than the rating it currently has. I've been here twice now, and both times have been totally fantastic and left me hungry for the next time. The menu is extensive, but not as busy as some other diners I've been to. There's also a bunch of interesting options and creations I've never seen more. Bacon, eggs, and american cheese rolled up in an enormous pancake. Say whaaaaat? I ordered the original bowl with over easy eggs and it was in my top 5 of best breakfasts I've ever had. Bold statement, but better believe it. The Suburban Diner is no joke. The flavors are incredible all mixed together, and it really was the perfect breakfast combination of eggs, bacon, avocado, home fries, wowza. Also, there are Bloody Mary's and other brunch cocktails available during brunch for only $5! And they are GOOD. Can't beat that. See you next time, Suburban. Look I live very locally... this is where I take my family for breakfast when we go out. Besides the Maywood pancake house, these guys do the best breakfast. HOWEVER. Today we went there for dinner. My kids got breakfast, all good. My wife and I got apps and they were very generically "diner", nothing above me making the same food at home. Food for diner would be 3 starts. Breakfast would be 4 stars. Ps, our server was impeccable. Why I gave them 2 stars is because the host was wearing his mask below his nose... my 6 year old had to tell him to put it over, which he did, for about 3 minutes. Then, I watched another server (White t shirt and man-ponytail) whilst bringing a cup of coffee out of the kitchen, pull down his mask, and spit on the ground (in the opposite direction of the coffee cup so I guess that's good?).... put his mask back on, and deliver the cup of coffee to a table. Good lord. Clean it up. If you want my business during this crap, make me and my family feel safe. read more

We went here on a whim. We saw it was packed so why not. Everyone was really nice! In terms of the food...that's a different story. We ordered nachos and the chicken was very bland and the nachos were dry. I ordered the cheeseburger, well done. Very dry and flavorless!!! My daughter ordered pasta...and it was not good at all! My husband got the Philly cheesesteak....he loves sandwiches and did not even finish his sandwich. Def a first. The food was flavorless all round. The best part were the fries and we all know it doesn't take much to cook frozen fries. It was weird because the place was packed, but I wouldn't be going there ever again. read more

Not from the area and was in town for an event nearby our hotel. Don't let the word diner think of a hole in the wall joint, this is a well kept and classy designed place. Price wise I'd say 2 1/2 out of five. Food is very good, and you get a lot of it, do prepare for a box. I actually took the top part of my burger buns off because it was huge. The Suburban is the diner to beat. Updated interior, friendly staff, amazing specials, fantastic food. But don't look at the dessert counter, because you'll be fantasizing about it all day -- not joking! Plus it's right down the road from some of the best shopping in the northeast. So whether you need a break at the end of the day, or your just driving home from a weekend in NYC, this is our favorite place to stop. My husband and I went to this place for a brunch. Food: very large portions. I ordered the omelette and they might have used like 8-10 eggs, and the side the comes with it was mushes potatoes, which was also very large portion that could feed two. I am a food and was hungry, but the food was too much espacially, each one of us ordered a plate of omelette with dish of toast with nutella chocolate. Food is fresh and tasty. I have been dining at this restaurant for years. On my past 2 bills I have noticed they are charging a is there charging a 3% extra on the bill for paying with a credit card. I think this is totally unacceptable. While I do enjoy like this diner I will continue to do so I will never pay with a credit card again.. Furthermore if I want to Bring up group of people here I will never encourage them from attending since this extra charge I find ridiculous it's Not only are they saving on the processing fee for the credit card but now they're making an extra 3% on a processing fee I wonder if the add saving it passed on to there employees WHEN I ASKED THEM SAY Why they ARE DOING THAT OTHR6 PLASES ARE DOINGTHE SAME THING. I can not stop thinking about the presentation of my yogurt parfait! It was not only beautiful but also tasted amazing! My mom loved her vegetable omelette and the whole wheat toast no pictured. The Surburban has been our go to for years. We go at least 3 times a month. We have noticed recently that they are cutting corners and it shows. We always got the soup, it was a huge bowl loaded with plenty of veggies and chunks of chicken with noodles , it was delicious but not anymore. Bowl is much smaller and I was literally served broth with pasta only. No chicken no veggies. The waitress told us that chicken noodle soup means noodles in chicken flavored broth. Uh no not acceptable. We noticed too that the sandwich we always order now doesn't come with the 2 onion rings as it did before. And much less chicken in the sandwich. The place was noticeably less crowded than normal so maybe other people are noticing the changes as well. It's a shame because we always loved this place, but will be looking for a new go to. Great diner. Amazing service both days we came here (back to back mornings while in town for a funeral). Excellent breakfast - omelettes, pancakes, french toast, bacon... It was all excellent both days and nobody had any issues. Two different servers and they were so friendly and kind! Great ambiance - recent updates make it welcoming but modern. Super clean.
