I was very disappointed with my pastry samples from Mon Jelice. I sampled a pear tart, a layered…read morebutter cream icing cake and a citrus layered cake. except for the tart, both cakes lacked flavor, there was a very thin layer of flavor jam spread on each of the cakes, but not enough to add flavor, the butter cream icing was also flavorless and heavy and felt greasy in my mouth-it tastes like it was made of shortening, not butter. The pears in the tart were flavorful, but the crust was wet, and soggy. I don't think anything I sampled was fresh baked. In addition, the display case lacked the overall fancy appearance of a patisserie. The staff were friendly and patient. The shop could use a facelift.

We have been coming here for years, and it has consistently delivered a wonderful experience every single time. This is truly a French pâtisserie right out of France. The authenticity is obvious from the moment you walk in, from the atmosphere to the care put into every pastry and dish. From their fresh, flavorful sandwiches to my wife's all-time favorite Pavlova, everything we have tried has been beautifully prepared and genuinely delicious. The quality really stands out, and you can tell pride and tradition go into what they create. The owners, who are authentically French, add an extra layer of charm and credibility, and the staff are equally welcoming. They are kind, patient, and always happy to guide you if you are unsure what to order, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a place that offers both savory bites and outstanding desserts, this spot is absolutely worth seeking out. Whether you want something sweet, a light meal, or simply a cozy café atmosphere that feels like a brief escape to France, Mon Délice is an easy recommendation. Give it a try. There is a very good chance you will walk out already planning your next visit. And very important: Don't forget to give the standard, properly French "Bon Jour!" when you step through the door. They will appreciate the reminder of home. (Plus it is the acceptable greeting all French make as they enter certain establishments.)

The three girls that were working were so loud talking amongst each other was over stimulating I couldn't even concentrate to place my order. Then they turned on music and began to sing. I enjoy music as much as the next person. I'd rather of heard alley cats than what I was experiencing today. It's very echoing inside. Not the previous pleasant calming experiences as before. Had to leave and eat in my car instead of enjoying the prior experience. Maybe the new owner could figure something out. The product was still really good though. Update: Wow I drove up the street to eat my bowl in peace, a police officer came up to me and said there was a call about a suspicious person (meaning me) because I walked back inside after I received my order to look at the menu to make sure it was correct because of the ruckus and walked back out. Update again: I didn't say the music was on while ordering that came on after the fact. I was going to sit and enjoy my bowl but the music was too loud. There wasn't anyone else but myself in there when I was ordering. The employee girls were loud amongst themselves. The customers you mentioned were there when I walked back in to check the menu and I walked back outside. Nothing suspicious about that. You've just lost a customer and who knows word of mouth is a good or bad thing. But hey your girls can do no wrong. Security cameras? As I said I've been coming there for years and all of the sudden I'm making this up out of the blue. Screw You!

It's been awhile so I stopped in this morning on the way to the beach with my little girl. Ambiance was a bit awkward and rushed today, even though there was barely anyone inside. I ordered a smoothie and a few of the little treats, those are normally my favorite. The smoothie tasted good and I shared it was my little girl. The treats were okay. The peanut butter and the express yo self both tasted pretty fresh. The brownie batter had a really sour flavor. I will have to give this place another try in the future, something was definitely off today.

Owner and Chef Sylvie and her staff are always so welcoming and the food is just amazing. We have been for dinners, brunches and if you are looking for a place in New Smyrna Beach for great food, incredible ambiance, in a picturesque setting, check it out. This morning we went there for brunch and Sylvie convinced us to try the quiche with Brussels sprouts and Gorgonzola cheese with a side salad with a lite vinaigrette dressing. Janie got a cafe au lait and I had a French lemonade. Sylvie, you've done it again. This is why for a romantic dinner or brunch or just plain hungry for something sweet and savory, Voo La Voo is our place! Voo La Voo Cafe is located in New Smyrna Beach, at 829 Canal Street. They had a few other tables being seated along with us and were a little overwhelmed. The owner and chef, Sylvie came by and got our drink and food order while Daniel, our waiter was getting other tables taken care of. This is a neighborhood restaurant where everyone seemed to know the staff and they knew everyone. It was so comfortable and friendly. The food was fantastic. French onion soup that was lighter in flavor than some others, but still so delicious and enjoyable. I liked the wine that was in there. We both got filets. She had a butter herb sauce and I got the pepper sauce. Both were great. Had the potatoes au gratin and the flavor was so clean and silky. Just before we left a large group came in saying they had made a reservation (they certainly hadn't) and completely ruined the nice, calm and comfortable vibe. They were loud and acted like entitled jerks. Even those morons couldn't ruin a great dinner, but we just paid our bill and left. Definitely give this place a try, it's a hidden gem with amazing food and a nice cozy atmosphere.
