One of our places when in Galveston for drinks @ music. Gabby took great care of us. We shared a couple lbs of crawfish and ice cold beer.

I stopped by here a couple of days ago for lunch. We were at the Railroad Museum in Galveston around lunchtime when my wife pulled up Yelp to find somewhere to eat and came across the Huli Huli Hut. Since it was Sunday and there were plenty of TVs around the restaurant, you could catch almost any NFL game you wanted. Inside, the place had a laid-back, beachy feel with lots of colorful wall art, wood accents, and a large bar lined with taps and TVs showing the games. For lunch on this day, I decided on the oyster po' boy. The menu offered the choice of fried, grilled, or blackened shrimp or fish, or fried oysters with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. Our food took a little while to arrive, but it looked good when it did. My sandwich had plenty of fried oysters, and they were tasty with a breading that carried a little bit of spice. The tartar sauce added some welcome moisture and flavor too. Finally, the fries were excellent, super crispy on the outside, giving each bite a nice crunch. My twins especially loved those and cleared their plates. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought our food was good, and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while catching the football games.

I only took a picture of my flatbread, which was good, but not anything remarkable. I don't like seafood so that's my fault. My family members who do enjoy seafood said that it was some of the best they had on the island during our trip! They had crab, fried shrimp, and the fish and shrimp platter.

Stopped in here to get our seafood fix before heading home. The ambiance was great but the service was slow and lacking. My SIL and my nephew shared a seafood boil. When she asked for another cracker for the crab legs it was like pulling teeth to get another one so they could both eat.

We hadn't tried the new locations so decided to check out happy hour at Huli Huli! The new location seems much bigger with a pleasant patio area in the back to enjoy the sunshine if the weather is good. Happy hour deals on drinks and food were excellent. We especially loved the shrimp kisses and deals on well drinks. The menu has lots of variety and something for everyone. Overall, a fun place to grab a drink and a bite.

We ate at Huli Hulu hut today. And Connor was our server. he was very helpful and helping us select the perfect boil combination for our appetite and our budget. We will be back again. Thank you so much for the great service and meal today.

This is a pretty popular hangout so parking is most likely gonna be in the street since they only have eight spots available. There are flat screens all around and a stage for live music indoors. They do have a mixed drink menu, however, there are no prices on it (average $12) and you'll have to scan a QR code for their food menu. On fair weather days they'll have the garage doors at both ends open to allow the breeze to flow through instead of air-conditioning. The only problem with that is that when the food arrives, so do the flies. They have a full bar with available seating and upbeat music playing overhead. They actually have a woodfired pizza oven (so I was told, might be gas fired tho) in the back corner which helped me with my choice of meal. The wife had scallops which came out perfectly cooked and tender. My pepperoni/mushroom pizza was good and something I would order again. Since we got here on a Saturday, there's no happy hour, but their mixed drinks were good, although the alcohol was barely discernible. When it's time to check out on the handheld device, you will be charged a 3% credit card fee on your bill. We had great service and a good time. Informative photos below, including the bill, giving you an idea what you can expect to pay as well.

Great service with Daniel! He gave us a great selection for crawfish, shrimp and blue crabs at a great deal. Crawfish is only available this week. Everything is extremely good especially the blue crabs which broiled and spicy. Great singing performances for a few hours at night.

Appreciate being able to visit a spot that I've been told is where the locals go. My kinda place to grab some casual food and cocktails. Happy Hour runs from 3p-7p with specials on food and drinks. Staff is super friendly and make sure you're well taken of during your visit. Prices are very reasonable considering most places are trying g to get all of the "tourist dollars". The place overall is a vibe as the music plays and the energy is up. Enjoyable experience visiting the Huli Huli Hut

Was here to try something new for my birthday. My coworker recommended this place so I drove from Houston to Galveston. First impression was this is a local spot. When we walked in we were a little confused. There wasn't a greeter @ the front. Finally someone @ the bar told us to seat ourselves. We then had to figure out to scan the QR code for the menu & a server eventually arrived. I told him this was our 1st time & we were celebrating my birthday. The server said happy birthday, but a nice touch would've been a complimentary something. I wasn't expecting it, but it would have been nice. We ordered grilled redfish with rice & onion rings, chicken wings, bayou boudin balls & fish & chips. Everything arrive promptly & hot, but very flavorless. They give you a decent amount for what you pay, but nope. I guess I'm used to Cajun seafood. The bayou balls & chicken wings had a little flavor, nothing else. My friend recommended the blue crabs & that's what I should've gotten. I would never make a special trip again just to eat here, but if I'm in the area, maybe I'll try the blue crabs.

I always appreciate when staff is excited about specific plates. The trip was dynamite. The sauce was TOO GOOD. Like, we wanted to drink what was left. 5 stars just for that. My wife loved the oysters. The lobster roll had quite a bit of lobster in it. Super buttery and filling. Solid fries. This was a very pleasant stop on our trip.

Our lunch was absolutely delicious. Here's the rundown: 1 appetizer of ahi tuna won-ton, 2 raw oyster samplers, 2 Galveston Island Brewing blondes, 1 dirty gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and one to-go bottle of Cat Five hot sauce. I am not a huge fan of tuna, but this ahi/poke style of tuna with actual umami flavor elevates a mild sushi gateway fish to something yummy. The oysters were a delight. Shucks has a color coded system in place to help you identify which oysters are which, but my tired old eyes can't seem to make their system work. I did have two favorite kinds but could not tell you what they were. No matter, they were all superior - and small like east coast/ Canadian bivalves are. Dan's beer was tasty and swillable and my martini was appropriately dirty. We got the hot sauce because you can never have enough condiments and cats were referenced in its name. Our server was friendly and efficient. Interesting to me, I was mildly making fun of their music selection and soon after it changed. Coincidence? Dunno, but I appreciated the change to Motown! Bottom line. So, so enjoyable and something we don't do too often these days. It was an expensive meal, but worth the splurge.

I got the Create A Platter with stuffed shrimp and fried catfish with fries and boiled potatoes. It also comes with three hush puppies. The food is good. The stuffed shrimp was the best. The stuffing was packed with flavor but I could still taste the shrimp. The catfish was fried to a golden crisp and it came out hot! The potatoes were surprisingly good. I wanted the bean relish but my wife nixed that idea. The hush puppies were okay. They were dense and flavorful but just a little too small and crispy for my taste. The fries were limp but they were alright. Overall, I'd go back to Shrimp N Stuff for a quick bite to eat. It's not somewhere to go for a fancy date, maybe the third or fourth date. Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions. An easy 5-stars for me and a place I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Galveston.
