This was by far the best sushi place we've had in a long time! The BSC was hands down one of the best I've had! The crispy rice was cooked to perfection, the sashimi plate was so fresh and melted in your mouth! The rolls that unfortunately were eaten before we could take a picture were the Shooting Star Roll and the No Return Roll. I can't even put into words how delicious they both were. Customer service was amazing. And I can't believe that on a Saturday night they were not super packed. Definitely will be back here!! You're missing out if you aren't here enjoying this place!!!

Decent lunch menu for $21, where you get 5 pieces of sushi and a choice of a premium roll. I got the Albacore special roll. It wasn't amazing, but it was pretty good. In fact, all the fish I tried was decent quality. The value was there at that price point. Okay-looking place with a somewhat contemporary design. When I came in, I was the second person in the whole place and the lack of customers reflected a bit on the waiter's mood. I would still come back, cause all in all, the place is good.

Chef: 10/10 Service: 1/10 Went for a last minute lunch there today at 3pm. Caught happy hour! Score! My first time here. Came here because I was in the area and saw the 4.8 review rating. Came in. Had to seat ourselves because no one was there to greet us. (That's totally fine). Only 3 tables were filled. Very quiet time to go in. Quickly made an order starting with the shrimp tempura and then the Philadelphia rolls. We got our food promptly! The food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the tempura California roll. (I'd even order the tempura dip to go with it). The server taking our order seemed to have slammed our drinks down. (I noticed it but didn't say anything until my guest commented on it). We just figured the server was having a bad day. When we received the food she never once checked in on us. The dirty dishes stayed on the table the entire time. She forgot the philidalfiea rolls. ‍ No big deal. We were still hungry. We were going to make some more rolls. She didn't come back so we went and approached her and asked to order more. We mentioned that she forgot the Philadelphia rolls. She then rudely told us that we didn't order it to begin with. Awkward....um...yes we did. We were going to order more food because we were still hungry. Anyway we are currently on our way to go to another restaurant to order food. The food is excellent! The service on the other hand.

Love the consistently good service and rolls. We were driving home after a long ride from lax with starving passengers. They requested sushi so we went to one of our favorites! Everyone loves their rolls. I had a bento box with salmon and it was huge. I could've eaten half and been very full. We left happy and sated.

Oh my god. What a pleasant surprise to be within 2min walk from my hotel. Beautiful dining area and sushi bar. In town for a USA BASKETBALL Coaches Clinic at Harvard Westlake HS. EVERYONE was so pleasant to talk with and very professional. Management must've asked me at least 4 times how the food was and if I needed anything. Great service. Last but not least-- the R&B background music made the ambiance. Ashanti, Beyoncé, Usher.

It's been while since I've been back here. And as usual it did not disappoint. Not only was service top notch, the manager was awesome too. We walked in a few minutes after happy hour ended. And still he let us order from the happy hour menu and told us not to rush. With lots of sushi options out there, put Thee Sushi House in your rotation.

I have been here about ten years ago. At the time I didn't write too many reviews on Yelp and I wasn't a Yelp Elite yet. Now I won't miss writing a review on a spot that I go to. So today I went to have lunch with my son at The Sushi House. Not the warmest welcome but we were seated right away at a table of our choice. The waitress was also the hostess. My son and I ordered spicy tuna hand rolls and we both liked it very much. Then we got the No Return roll and enjoyed it much. Very delicious. The salmon roll from the happy hour menu wasn't that enjoyable cause it had a white sauce on top that didn't taste good. The seaweed salad and the edamame were fresh and good quality. At the end we ordered a spicy salmon hand roll and didn't like it cause it had an unpleasant aftertaste. So I left mine but my son finished his. Overall a great time here with my son ,, also the radio was on very loud and it kind of bothered us. Specially during commercials. Not the best vibes for lunch time.

My first time to give a second review to the same restaurant! Today we ordered for pick up. In a few words simply exceptional!!!Uni were absolutely amazing same as yellow tail, blue fin tuna and salmon. Great quail raw fish Highly recommend! Forgot to mention supper fried staff.

This is my first time at The Sushi House. It was amazing and so delicious. The staff were very polite and provided great customer service. I had the Hidden Dragon and the Baked Salmon Roll.

The chef here was introduced as a chef of the famous Morimoto. After all, the food and taste were great. From now on, I will be a regular here. Best of best!!!

The place is located in a small unassuming strip mall, but we had no problem finding parking in the lot and the inside was surprisingly nicely lit, beautiful, and clean. We opted to sit at the sushi bar for the full experience. For $80 the fish was fresh, presented well with no overly complicated flavors or garnishes needed. The service from both the sushi chefs and the server was great, and I left decently full. I particularly loved the hotate, or jumbo scallop, which was tender and sweet. I don't come to the Studio City area often but if I ever do I will have an excuse to come back!

For the location and price point, it just didn't really add up. I also wasn't obsessed with the service. Things didn't feel very seamless. We sat at the bar and had noticeable gaps between each dish. We'd finish a roll and find ourselves waiting and wondering when the next item would come out. I'm totally fine with courses coming out one at a time, but if that's the approach, the pacing should be much tighter. I left feeling like there's no real reason to come back, especially with so many other sushi spots nearby that better suit my taste.

Sushi Katsu-Ya is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in LA. The spicy tuna crispy rice and the…read morebaked crab hand roll are two of the best dishes ever, and they feel quintessentially LA to me - rooted in authenticity, with a twist. The spicy tuna crispy rice is the original, and it's the best one. The spicy tuna still tastes like tuna, not overloaded with sauce. The crispy rice is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the seasoned rice is delicious. The baked crab hand roll is often what we consider dessert - it's warm, fresh and salty sweet, always satisfying. The popular dishes are popular for a reason - you can't go wrong with any of them! The seared albacore with crispy onion is another standout. Katsu-ya was also the first place I had marinated sashimi dishes like this, and the albacore and sauce with the crispy onion piled on make for a perfect bite. The creamy popcorn shrimp tempura is lightly crispy and coated in just the right amount of sauce. The miso marinated black cod is another undeniable standout. It is packed with flavor and it's always cooked perfectly. One of my favorite ways to dine here is to request a chef's choice selection of nigiri - usually 6-8 unique pieces per person (each order is 2 pieces) of the best/freshest fish available. You can let them know if you have any allergies or restrictions, but otherwise we just go unofficial omakase style! We always end up with fish we may not have known to order - red snapper prepared 2 ways, kanpachi. We are always happy with what we get, and the quality is consistently high. And there's a fun element of surprise! I will also give a shoutout to the live sweet shrimp sushi. They fry the head and serve it with the sushi. You can just eat the whole head, and it's rich and delicious. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and no frills. It's not a big space but they utilize it well and it doesn't feel overcrowded. The staff is great - they're polite, attentive and helpful. Food service is well-paced. They take reservations by phone. I can have a really great meal for under $100 (with an unofficial "omakase" experience if desired), which I think is completely worth it for sushi/sashimi. There is a small lot that charges $10, and limited street parking. I've been a happy customer for nearly 20 years of this location and other restaurants of the Katsu-ya Group. I continue to enthusiastically recommend them!

The sashimi looked like it was the remnants of the sushi and rolls and had scales in it! YUCK!The cut rolls were tasteless and almost had a fishy smell, not a good thing.
