Finally made it to this popular spot! There is a combination of indoor and outdoor table seating as well as indoor seating at the bar. We were seated indoors thanks for a reservation, which is highly recommended! This place pares back its offerings (in the best way possible) with a limited "specialty rolls" section, focusing more on the simple and high quality fish! Our server was incredibly kind, professional, and friendly. All of the staff would promptly refill our water as well as give us refills of our ginger. We ordered Ikura, Chu-Toro, and salmon Nigiri, albacore with crispy onion sashimi, a creamy salmon hand roll, and three specialty rolls. The three specialty rolls were the FatherKels roll (favorite by far), Garlic Albacore Roll (good, but probably would try something different next time), and the citrus roll (YUM!!). Very much enjoyed!

Fish quality is fresh and good. Prices reflect that, it's not affordable. Mid-range, not super expensive either. Portions are not generous. Hard to find high quality and large cuts of fish in one place. I feel like if someone does pull that off they would never be slow. I didn't love the execution here and definitely felt hungry after. 8.5/10 albacore sashimi too much ponzu, quality fish 8.5/10 garlic albacore roll. Good execution 8.5/10 spicy tuna roll. 5/10 spicy tuna crispy rice & shrimp crispy rice, rice was rock hard and it needed more fish to rice for the appropriate ratio. Like 20% more fish, doesn't need to be crazy. How hard the rice was honestly ruined this dish for me. I love a good spicy tuna crispy rice 6/10 creamy salmon roll, onion overpowering it, fish was good tho

Yume Sushi is *definitely* worth the hype. The aesthetic is super minimal, but the food delivers maximum flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully done without trying too hard. Standouts for me were the garlic albacore roll, the yellowtail cilantro roll, and the seared salmon -- all incredible. And the crispy tuna rice? So good we had to order seconds. Simple vibe, seriously impressive food. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while.

Absolutely delicious! We went on a Friday night had a reservation and it was busy. They also had seating outside, which was also pretty full. We seated immediately and Customer service was on point. Took our orders, brought our drinks, brought our food, refilled our waters, brought more food and just checked on us throughout our meal. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Kuroushi black bull sake - fresh tasting, cool and smooth going down. Miso black cod is always a winner, creamy rock shrimp on spicy tuna roll, spicy tuna crispy rice, garlic albacore roll, seabass special roll. My only complaint was that the seaweed on my blue crab hand roll was not crisp but other than that everything was delicious

Came here on a Thursday ~7pm with party of 2. Only available immediate seating was outside on the patio so I'd recommend making a reservation if you're looking for inside seating or on a weekend. Only taking 1 star off for the prices! Food was fresh and well done. Our favorite was the salmon collar as it was super crispy and juicy! But for $28 I probably would skip again. Garlic albacore roll was my close second favorite but specialty rolls all come in around ~$25. Overall, service was friendly, place was clean and patio had good ambiance. There just wasn't anything stand out enough to warrant a return with these prices.

Cozy sushi spot on Ventura blvd with delicious options! We ordered the spicy tuna crispy rice, sauteed green beans, unagi sushi, and the garlic albacore roll. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good, not my favorite but a solid option. It was a little dry as it had no chili oil or sauce on it but when I dipped it into the housemaid Yume sauce, it gave the flavour profile a little something. The sautéed green beers reminded me of Din Tai's green beans but a little sweeter, really enjoyed those. The star of the show was the garlic albacore roll! One of the best rolls I've ever had and the albacore melted in my mouth. The chili oil w/ garlic crisp topping was unbelievable and something I'd love to come back and get again. Overall, great experience but would recommend getting an early reservation as it gets packed

Fourth time here. At this point I think they should just give me my own seat with my name on it. The sushi is crazy fresh... like "did they just catch this out back?" fresh. Every bite is one of those silent head nod moments where you just look at your friend like "yeah... yeah." Service is great. Everyone here acts like they actually like their job. Vibe is clean and modern. Only thing is, don't just show up and expect a seat. Call ahead or be ready to hover like a hungry ninja waiting for someone to leave.

Location 3: On the South side of Ventura Blvd between Whitsett and Laurel Canyon. Very limited street parking, leaving the paid Valet service as the only viable option. Venue 3: Nicely decorated. modern setting. Indoor and heated outdoor tables and a medium sized sushi bar. They tend to get very busy on weekends and will actually come and tell you to leave once you have finished your meal :( They take reservations on Resy. Service 3: About average. Not particularly attentive or helpful. Food 4: Good selection of nigiri (sushi), sashimi, maki (cut rolls), temaki (hand rolls) and specialty rolls. Fish is fresh and presentations are creative. Prices are on the high side. Drinks 3: Beer, Sake, wine and soft drinks. Typical sushi bar assortment. Prices are on the high side. The Last Word 3: Their food is good but they are not the only game in town. They are very popular with their regulars and are always packed, and as a result they are not focused on customer service or attracting new business. For me customer service is as important as the food, and this makes Yume not my first choice when craving sushi.

Came to Yume on a whim Friday night with my husband and 6 yr old son. The restaurant was busy and lively. We had to wait a bit to get seated. But once seated service was attentive and food orders came out quickly. Sushi restaurants can be a bit boring for us bc I don't eat raw fish and my son can be pretty picky. But, Yume far exceeded our expectations. They have a great selection of hot foods and veggie dishes. We really enjoyed the Yellowtail Ribs, Sunomo Salad & Miso Cod. My son said his veggie roll was the best he had ever had, and husband enjoyed all his sushi. Looking forward to our next visit.

I went on a Saturday and it was busy, but we had a 6:30 reservation. Street parking is available, or there's a parking structure about a 3-minute walk across the street. The place is cute but very small, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was very good and attentive! We ordered the crispy rice spicy tuna, corn tempura, chilean seabass skewers, salmon sushi, and the creamy salmon roll. Everything tasted delicious and you can really taste the quality and freshness of the fish. I do think it's a bit on the pricier side for what you get though. For dessert, we had the coffee matcha mille crepe, flourless chocolate cake, and black sesame mochi ice cream. The crepe had more of a coffee flavor than matcha, and the mousse on the flourless cake tasted a little off, almost like blue cheese. The black sesame flavor also wasn't very strong. Overall, really good food and I would come back occasionally, but probably more for special occasions because of the price.

Came for a quick business lunch and was so enamored with the food and vibes I barely had a chance to take photos! In the heart of studio city, this spot has a great array of cut rolls and the sake was great too. Definitely recommend for business or casual lunches with friends

I came during lunch and ordered the Yume Lunch Special for $28. It comes with 2 pieces spicy tuna crispy rice, 2 pieces salmon tartare on wonton chips, miso soup, salad or rice & 1 entree (grilled salmon, yuzu garlic shrimp, or shrimp tempura). I thought it was a good amount of food for a lunch special & ordered extra pieces of sushi. The fish is buttery soft and fresh & the shrimp tempura were crispy. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. This was such a filling and delicious meal, I will be back to try other options. Parking- street parking

You guysssss RUN do no walk to the best spot in town for sushi. I was absolutely blown away with every bite. Started with the albacore sashimi with crispy onions and I still think about this dish. It was so fresh, buttery and packed with so many flavors. Then got 2 pairs of sushi, which were also good, but the dream roll and garlic albacore roll were the stars. Absolutely blown away with every bite - even the chili crunch on the garlic roll was so tasty. Hands down best sushi i've tried!

Located on Ventura Boulevard, Sushi Tomoki is a small, intimate sushi restaurant with a clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic and a relaxed atmosphere that lets the food take center stage. (The Infatuation) Since we were dining with our 22-month-old, we requested a table instead of sitting at the sushi bar, and the staff was very accommodating. They even prepared a customized tamago sushi roll for our little one, which he absolutely enjoyed. The omakase was thoughtfully paced, with each piece served one at a time so we could fully appreciate every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, and every piece practically melted in our mouths. The attention to detail and quality of the ingredients really stood out. The only piece that wasn't my favorite was the sushi topped with mint. It simply wasn't my personal preference, though I'm sure those who enjoy mint with savory dishes would appreciate it. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They made my sister's birthday even more special by singing Happy Birthday and surprising her with complimentary sherbet and four pieces of green tea mochi--a thoughtful touch that ended the evening on a high note. Before I forget, we ordered Crispy Rice Tuna that came in (2) pieces for (13.50). The minute I saw that, it made me laugh. Called our server and told her to take that back and remove it from the bill which she gladly did. I thought it was going to be an actual full course rolls. They also have dessert but we didn't order anything. Restaurant was very quaint, limited decor, very busy for Monday mid evening, and was very nice and clean. Total came out to be $95.70 including tax minus the tip. I'm sure they also have a bathroom, but we didn't end up using it. I will return, but not any time soon. They also don't have any Bento Box type of food. Very authentic place to go on a date, friends, family or even dine solo. They also have a Sushi Bar. A line of happy sushi chefs greet customers coming and going in the front. its funny since from the outside, the restaurant looks so unassuming from the street level. The food was excellent and I give 5-stars for the hot entrees like chicken teriyaki (5 stars) and the miso black cod appetizer (4 stars). Wife felt the miso was a bit too heavily sauced but I liked the rich flavors. We replaced the default rice with sushi rice and the sticky texture and vinegary flavor was well worth it. The Brussels sprouts and mushroom appetizer was also full of umami (4 stars). I got their nigiri combo with spicy tuna roll. Very good with fresh fish toppings (4 stars). I did not see an omakase option on the menu, but maybe that's off menu when price is not an issue. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was good, but I don't think it justifies the $54 per person price. They had a nice selection of appetizers, and I especially enjoyed the gyoza and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. I wasn't a fan of the calamari, though. It was heavily breaded, and I would have preferred more calamari and less coating. The creamy rock shrimp was also a bit too sweet for my taste. I also didn't care for the cucumber salad. Whatever sauce they used just didn't pair well with the cucumber. Most disappointing, for $54/person they should offer carpaccio. Not worth the price for sure. The sushi rolls were just okay. There weren't as many different options as I expected, and a lot of the rolls were very similar with only small variations. They also used quite a bit of rice, which made some of the rolls feel filling without adding much variety. One thing I did like was that most of the specialty rolls came with only four pieces instead of the usual six or eight. That made it easier to try more items without getting full too quickly. Overall, the fish tasted fresh, but the rolls were pretty average. For the price, I don't think I'd come back. I'd rather go to Zeppin Sushi in Encino, where I think you get more value for your money. That said, the staff was wonderful, and they definitely made the experience enjoyable.
