Yume has 2 locations, Calabasas and Studio City. I've been to the Calabasas one and it's very nice. We decided to try Studio City this time. Made a reservation the day of and luckily they had space on the patio. The inside was not that big so I can see how quickly they book up. Just note that sitting outside can get loud, since you are right on Ventura blvd. Menu has a lot of good options on it but it is on the pricier side. Favorite items include avocado crispy rice, shrimp with crispy rice, garlic albacore roll and blue crab roll. Fish is fresh and sashimi is tender and melts in your mouth. Finally made it to this popular spot! There is a combination of indoor and outdoor table seating as well as indoor seating at the bar. We were seated indoors thanks for a reservation, which is highly recommended! This place pares back its offerings (in the best way possible) with a limited "specialty rolls" section, focusing more on the simple and high quality fish! Our server was incredibly kind, professional, and friendly. All of the staff would promptly refill our water as well as give us refills of our ginger. We ordered Ikura, Chu-Toro, and salmon Nigiri, albacore with crispy onion sashimi, a creamy salmon hand roll, and three specialty rolls. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good, not my favorite but a solid option. But once seated service was attentive and food orders came out quickly. Sushi restaurants can be a bit boring for us bc I don't eat raw fish and my son can be pretty picky. But, Yume far exceeded our expectations. They have a great selection of hot foods and veggie dishes. We really enjoyed the Yellowtail Ribs, Sunomo Salad & Miso Cod. The flavor of the sashimi and the hand rolls here were absolutely incredible. Not to mention how amazing the staff was. I want to start this off by saying I have only heard glowing reviews about this place from friends. One of my friends orders delivery from Yume at least once a week and she says even the togo is amazing. We ordered togo and it said it would be 30 minutes so pickup time 8:29. We got to the pickup area at 8:35 and she said they needed a few more minutes. She was very sweet and I could tell that they were really busy and maybe not expecting it so they wernt staffed accordingly. We didn't get our food until 8:51. I personally never eat this late the only reason we were was because we had done a later workout class, so mind you we were really hungry. We didn't even make it back to my friends house we went and sat across the street at the tables and started eating. We ordered spicy tuna on crispy rice, spicy Edamame, creamy rock shrimp from the appetizers. We started off by eating those are they all were room temp to cold. That was really disappointing especially after waiting so long. I'm assuming that food was ready and the sushi bar was behind so our hot apps were sitting for more than 30 minutes. We still ate it again we were so hungry at this point but it was great, it was good at best. We got salmon and albacore sushi and those were great! The fish melted into your mouth like butter! Amazing fish quality!! The albacore sashimi with crisp onions and the yellowtail cilantro roll were my favorites!! The flavor combination from the fish and the sauces it was paired with were amazing! We checked in at 5:30pm as what we had for our reservation and we were seated instantly. It was our first time coming in so we didn't really know what to order.
