A friend recommended this place for their all-you-can-eat sushi, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is nice, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was good, but I don't think it justifies the $54 per person price. They had a nice selection of appetizers, and I especially enjoyed the gyoza and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. I wasn't a fan of the calamari, though. It was heavily breaded, and I would have preferred more calamari and less coating. The creamy rock shrimp was also a bit too sweet for my taste. I also didn't care for the cucumber salad. Whatever sauce they used just didn't pair well with the cucumber. Most disappointing, for $54/person they should offer carpaccio. Not worth the price for sure. The sushi rolls were just okay. There weren't as many different options as I expected, and a lot of the rolls were very similar with only small variations. They also used quite a bit of rice, which made some of the rolls feel filling without adding much variety. One thing I did like was that most of the specialty rolls came with only four pieces instead of the usual six or eight. That made it easier to try more items without getting full too quickly. Overall, the fish tasted fresh, but the rolls were pretty average. For the price, I don't think I'd come back. I'd rather go to Zeppin Sushi in Encino, where I think you get more value for your money. That said, the staff was wonderful, and they definitely made the experience enjoyable. read more

Customer service was on point but the AYCE menu was left wanting as not all of the rolls were included in the ayce menu and the rolls that were about 90% of them had the "crabmeat" cheap filling. Most ayce restaurants have a majority if not all their rolls available for ayce especially for being at the middle to higher price range, as for the quality of the food, it tasted ok and it wasn't to crowded and food arrived promptly after placing each order. read more

The sushi here is amazing as well as the staff and service. I had a really great time the other day being as it was my first time there and I totally recommend it. Impeccable service with delicious food. Everything came out beautifully prepared and although I have no pictures (because we ate it so fast) the deep fried "Golden Tiger Roll" is my favorite. Our server consistently removed dirty/empty plates and ensured our drinks were full. After a long day and finally cleaning my kitchen tonight I refused to cook. It was 11 PM and I was starving so I grabbed my housemate and we arrived to this late night treat. Started with hot saki and spicy miso soup. Delicious and soul warming. Spicy salmon roll was fresh and fast. I don't do tuna so the Dark Knight Dragon Roll was the winner. Not quite my taste but I liked this AYCE experience enough. Had a spread of apps, nigiri, and rolls. Baked mussels were presented well but what tasted like straight up Mayo was salty. Mayo on the Dynamite Scallops tasted better. Dish was baked to hot, but veggies mixed in might as well have remained as garnish being barely cooked. Sushi rice was easy portioned for the rolls, and about standard for nigiri. The Toro of the Toro roll was oily and fatty but did not taste great, texture very soft. Service was fast and friendly. No flexibility what so ever. I am vegetarian and I went with a friend who is a sushi lover. Keep in mind they have AYCE as an option but they don't advertise it. My friend wanted AYCE but I did not and they did not allow it. I've been to many sushi places and they're all flexible if someone doesn't eat sushi or fish and have offered it. For this visit, my friend had to opt of of the AYCE since it wasn't worth $65 for me to eat rice and cucumber. I ended up ordering a cut veggie roll and it came out the size of a pancake for each piece of the roll. It was literally spring mix and rice for $12. So I asked politely if they can just roll it smaller as other places do normally. They said no? I don't get it I wasn't asking for something unusual lol. Either way, won't be coming back. read more

LA LA Sushi is located in a very busy section in downtown and in a competitive area. Their sushi is actually premium quality and I can see why they don't push/advertise their AYCE menu. The quality of fish is premium tier and you can see it on your plate as well as taste it in the flavor. The price point is a bit more expensive than other spots (by $10-$15 more) but honestly as many others have said.. IT IS SO WORTH IT. The Toro here is outstanding compared to many other places. It's fatty, delicate and flavorful. It is apart of their premium AYCE which is $10 more than their standard sushi but honestly, those extra PCS of their top quality fish are SO SO SO worth it. I knocked off a star only because I wasn't a big fan of their rice that was being used. The rice was a little too "soft" and borderline felt mushy. During our service, they had two batches of rice and they were a little inconsistent. I had a few pieces of rice roll off and it was a little messy. ( I normally do not have a problem with this or using chopsticks etc.) The ambiance is not glamourous whatsoever nor is it flashy. It's very humble, low key and quiet (during the weekday evenings). I do wish that there was a bit more effort in terms of interiors but that's the least thing I care about.. The music however was SO GOD AWFUL. I think they were playing a 30minute playlist from 2014 of 6 different songs or so and it was driving me nuts. Again, not a deal breaker but it was not a vibe whatsoever. The service is outstanding, every plate we were brought, the server took the time to explain which roll was which and which fish was what. What I enjoy about Lala sushi is their all you can eat. I am not a big fan of all you can eat sushi however this place has a lot of different items which has allowed me to go outside of my comfort Sushi Zone. If you have a little money to burn I would go for the premium version and really try to grab new stuff. It's a great little spot although sometimes parking is a little hard to come by. I hate writing a low rating review but this joint just didn't hit the mark. The execution of creating "sushi" dishes failed and resembled more like "kimbap" with seafood. The rice was made incorrectly and they also used the wrong seaweed paper. Those two major components detracts from the enjoyment of true sushi dishes. The AYCE menu offers standard pricing tiers--regular at $49.95, premium at $59.95, and a kids' option priced at $19.95 for ages 3-7. Please note that the premium tier allows for a 1-time order of 12 items per person. This is not unlimited so if you don't care for those options, then stick with the regular tier. This place isn't cheap and that's okay if the price aligns with quality but it just didn't shine. In fact, this is just 1 grade above a sushi buffet. For those wanting a better sushi joint option, I recommend checking out "Here Fishy Fishy" off Wilshire blvd in Ktown next to the metro station for better quality AYCE sushi and same price point. So much so that I even do takeout as well as delivery when I can't make it there. Studio City's Ventura Boulevard extravaganza of shops, stores, sips, savories, sweets and more is where you'll find the L.L. Sushi experience... Parking on the street or in back, just before Lemonade if heading east from Whitsett Avenue (aka Laurel Terrace Drive) on Ventura Blvd or just past it if traveling westbound from Laurel Canyon. The deep cozy welcoming energy and the veggie options for me are all a 10 out of 10 especially because I can enjoy plenty as can my non veggie friends. Those 5PM to 1AM hours (daily) are something to celebrate too, because late night can definitely hit the spot. Tofu steak, spicy edamame (plus garlic or og), organic green salad and sunomono are all great items to start among others. Cut or Hand rolls - avocado, cucumber and my absolute fav... Their garden (veggie) as it's usually how I roll... Get it? Definitely ask for the vegan friendly options though most that are usually by default are. Hoping they might label them with a v or vg on their menus in the future, not to mention add a vegan ramen, no rice roll and/or baked roll veg option to the list #APlantBasedFoodieCanWish lol. Very grateful for all they do have (a lot) and their kindness. It's a sushi bar with a local neighborhood feel that make the meals and deals feel authentic as well as real. Probably the best of the AYCE sushi spots in the area. The amount of toro you can get with your AYCE is probably the number one perk and makes the premium up-charge worth the extra $10. On the downside they definitely have a lot more rice than a place like Here Fishy Fishy. So it's a step below that. But the actual fish is on par if not better probably. Some people have had service complaints but I found the people who work there to be cool. They also have a 2 hr time limit as opposed to an hour and a half vs other spots. So you can actually relax a little more and take your time. Premium AYCE Dinner with sake and tea and a 20% tip was about $100. That includes up to 12 pieces of toro, which imho makes it downright reasonable. The toro was melt in your mouth delicious and not the super cheap shit some places pawn off. I'm a fan and considering the shitty neighborhood you have to deal with for Here Fishy Fishy I'll probably brave the extra rice to come here more often than not. Also it wasn't packed full with an hour+++ long wait like HFF. So that's a plus as well and it definitely has a nicer vibe and ambiance than a place like HFF. 4/5 read more

LA LA Sushi was such a great find! My siblings and I were really craving some sushi, and we found that this place was open pretty late! We decided to eat here! And it did not disappoint! The restaurant was quiet and really nice as you can tell the workers enjoyed working with each other. It helps creates a positive atmosphere. For parking, we found street parking in the front of the store. You get 2 hours there. The restaurant had an Al La Carte or All You Can Eat options! My siblings and I decided to do Al La carte since we just wanted a few rolls. Red Wave roll wasn't spicy for us, but it still tasted really good! I'm a fan of any salmon. We also ordered the spicy tuna cut roll (8 pieces), California roll (8 pieces), and shrimp tempura roll (8 pieces). We didn't take photos of the full course, but all of them were good We were provided excellent customer service from the beginning!
