Looked at 4.5 stars out of five and thought it was a safe bet for dinner. Wrong, spouse had a vegetable dish and did not eat it because she said that everything was mushy. I ordered the chimmichanga with chicken. Could not finish it, not good. The condiment bar was messy so we did not use it. The beer was cold and the cashier was friendly. Excellent, authentic, Mexican food. Only reason for not giving five stars is the price. I've eaten tacos everywhere on the East Coast, and for 3 soft flour tacos, with ground beef, and queso fresco and access to the toppings bar being $9.50, I feel that's a bit excessive. The quality was top notch, service was excellent, place was clean as a whistle, but it was just tacos. With the amount of authentic Mexican places in SE NC area, lunches that have rice and beans rarely go above $7.00 bucks. If they price their lunch entrees a bit lower, I can see them thriving. read more

I think Hispanics from this area misunderstand the concept, is fast food authentic Mexican restaurant, It's not the typical sit-in restaurant, that have servers, that's how their prices are more accessible. I went the day they opened. Was NOT impressed. The cook was wearing gloves which is a good thing but when you constantly move the trash can around with the gloves on and then go back to touching food - it isn't doing any good! Also I saw a worker take the lid off the drink machine and place it on the dirty floor to refill ice. The whole ice machine has now been contaminated as he picked the lid off the floor and just threw it back on. I saw same cook with the trash can issues drop a paper liner on the floor and then picked it up and used it on a plate for the next order. I saw him put food on it and the food runner-which was the owner- just called the next ticket. So many sanitation issues to be worked out! read more

I have passed this place numerous times from my drive from North to South Carolina. Friday I finally decided to stop in oh wow did I regret this.. We ordered 2 taco tripa, 2 tacos lengua, 2 tacos carnitas, I taco pastor and chicken tenders and fries. Let's just say the chicken tenders and fries had hair in the food I had to return them from being undercooked. They returned them back to burnt you couldn't even eat them. Next the 2 tacos lengua was not cooked well and also had hair.. I approached the counter to only tell the waitress to let the guys know be careful with the food because it had hair which is a big unsanitary issue... She caught a little attitude and ask do you just want your money back. I told her no it's not about the money I am just trying to make this a better place( I am a server myself). As my boyfriend and my children was walking out I left something on the table went back to grab it overheard the two waitresses and the two cooks laughing and talking about me and my family... I proceeded to tell all them they needed to stop because there was hair also in my daughters food too but we just didn't want to complain.. Also to add in the sour cream was sour on the cold bar, the table wasn't cleaned and the paper towel holder had so much dust it was ridiculous... I had the nachos and they were great. You can get full service (including: waitress, drink refills and chips/salsa) IF you sit outside. It was a little to hot for us so we opted inside and were happy with our choice. You order at the counter and hen they call your number for you to pick it up. The girl at the counter was VERY helpful and sweet. She asked if we had been there before and when we stated we hadn't, she explained the menu and was patient while we took a minute to decide. Everything was clean and the toppings bar was full of fresh options. They serve chips on the toppings bar, so technically if you want nachos and don't need a meat, you could make your own nachos up there if you order something else that's cheaper like a taco ($2.50). The pico was excellent. I went back and got more in a little cup (mainly for salsa) to take back to the table. The chips were nice and crunchy-not stale. The cheese dip was a little pricey at $3.50 for a med sized cup prob about 2x2.5 inches. But it tasted good and we had some left over between the three of us. My toddler had 2 sides consisting of rice and beans ($2.50 for each) which came in big foil to-go type containers. Both were pretty tasty. My husband had a burrito and he said he enjoyed it. read more
