    Tacos al carbon
    Evelyn P.

My recommendations: Get the horchata, chips and salsa, and the beans. The staff and service were great. There's plenty of seating including the indoor/bar area, and outdoor seating. It has a good, casual vibe. We ordered the chips and salsa which came with two types of salsa; a green and red one. Both salsas had a little kick to them, but not overly spicy. For our main entrees, we ordered the tacos al carbon. It's 3 tacos with your choice of meat (steak, steak diablo, pastor, carnitas, and chicken), one side, and some chips. I ordered 3 steak tacos and beans as my side. The beans were flavorful and the perfect portion. The tacos were filling; I only ate one and took two home for later, but could've been that I was already full off of the chips and salsa :) The horchata was one of my favorite parts of the meal. It's so good! I'd go there just for the horchata. I wish they had other aquas frescas, but the horchata alone is worth the visit. They also have a variety of Jarritos and bottled sodas like Mexican Coca Cola so plenty of drink options. I'll need to come back to try out their margs and other alcoholic drinks. We also got the churros to go. It came with 4 churros, caramel sauce, and a scoop of ice cream. The churros are served warm and go perfectly with the creamy ice cream.

Brought the team here tonight for cinco de mayo and it was INCREDIBLE! The drinks were delicious (margs of course), chips and dips were amazing, tacos incredible (including a whole vegetarian menu!), and awesome desserts! Best servers, phenomenal atmosphere, the best!

Love this place! My go to is the street tacos and a happy hour margarita, but the whole menu is delicious. Love the staff!

I saw in the newspaper that it's the best taco place. We went there yesterday. To be honest, I don't think it's the best taco, just okay! The rice was bland, the bean was okay, the taco was good but not the best. The salsa wasn't great!! Chip and salsa for $9.00 and chip and guacamole for $12.00 were just okay, not the best, and not worth it!! Other restaurants provide free chip and salsa. The margarita was good but not the best. There are other restaurants better than Taco Stop. The total price was $118.00, which is crazy! I really thought it was the best, but nope! I saw a lot of people there, mostly Americans, and I can understand why.

Really welcoming staff and quick service! We tried three types of tacos, the chips and salsa, chilaquiles and rice and beans. The steak and al pastor tacos were very good, I would highly recommend these. The corn tortillas they use are a step above what you'd find at most other shops around. They reminded us of the ones we get when we go visit family in Rosarito. The salsa on the chilaquiles was tasty but was lacking heat/spice, we added some of the diabla salsa and it was just right. The frijoles were also very good but a little disappointed the serving size was so small. Also a little disappointing that the chips and salsa were an additional $9. Not a huge fan of the seasoning they put on the chips. Rice and beans are also an additional fee and the seasoning for the rice not our favorite. The carnita taco was just ok. Not much flavor and a little on the mushy side. Overall we really enjoyed it. The decor was very nice, the staff is very friendly and the tacos as the name says were super yummy and why you should STOP here!! We would come back and just order tacos and skip the rest!

Omg this place is the real deal!! I haven't stopped thinking about it and I can't wait to go back. I have tried so many Mexican places around NOCO and they're all so mid. Not this place! They deliver on the food obviously but also the service. Our server was on point and explained everything on the menu and even offered suggestions. The meats were juicy and flavorful, not dry. And the rice was sooo good too. I can't wait to come back here and try literally everything on the menu. The birria was amazing!!

I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur, and frankly resent that I'm writing such a glowing…read morereview for a restaurant so far from Mexico. But this was genuinely some of the best Mexican-inspired food of my LIFE! As a vegetarian, Mexican food tends to be hit or miss when it comes to creative meat substitutes. Blue Agave chose fried avocado tacos as its offering, and WOW. They were truly amazing. Life changing. Well spiced, the right amount of filling in each taco, and the avocado itself was perfectly ripe and fried well without much residual grease. Not only that, but the side beans and rice were incredible. The portions were generous and spiced magically- I could eat just the beans and rice as a dish on its own. I was also astounded by how the grilled corn sauce was thick and saucy, but tasted EXACTLY like elote- some kind of culinary magic. This place may be slightly pricier, but the food portions are large and I cleaned my plate and left feeling stuffed. My companions couldn't finish their beans and rice, and if I didn't think I was going to explode I would have cleaned their plates, too. I'm glad I don't live in FoCo or else I would go broke eating here. I cannot recommend it enough, especially those avocado tacos. I will be dreaming of them for years. The restaurant was a little jammed when I visited and some might find the atmosphere overwhelming, but I would say it's absolutely worth it. Seriously, if you're going to one place in FoCo, go here.

I think it took 45 mins from the time we ordered until the time we got our food, dessert was *slightly* better at about 30 mins. I think we were there for almost two hours, if not more because of the long waits. There were PLENTY of empty tables, so it wasn't packed, but still took forever. For the foods: Coconut shrimp tacos- good but the tortilla wasn't cooked and fell apart and the habanero creama will absolutely throat punch you if you were not expecting it Chicken teriyaki- good flavor, the Brussels sprouts were the best part of the dish. Shrimp skewers-just ok. Braised short rib enchiladas-hubby thought these were amazing, huge chunks of tender short rib that melts in your mouth. It was really good. Tres Chocolate Brownie-Underwhelming at best, feel free to skip this. The blondie- DELICIOUS. Get this one. Served warm, and has that kind of brownie gooey center. It's perfect. Would come back for more if I lived here.

It was rich, creamy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite was packed with delicious flavors, making it the perfect way to start our meal. For the main course, we got the Barbacoa de Picanha, along with two tacos--the Taco de Ribeye and the Duck Taco. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The meats were tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We also ordered two drinks: the Sabina Safe and the Martini Manzana. Both were excellent--refreshing, flavorful, and crafted perfectly. They paired wonderfully with the food and added even more to the overall experience. A special shoutout goes to our server, Allen. He was incredibly friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable. We followed several of his recommendations, and every single one was spot on. His attentive service truly elevated our dining experience. To top it all off, Allen surprised us with two complimentary shots at the end of the meal. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of them, but they were honestly the most delicious shots I've ever had. They had a beautiful purple creamy foam on top and were absolutely incredible--smooth, unique, and unforgettable. We started with margaritas - my friends got the spicy marg and I opted for cucumber. The spicy marg is like drinking fresh jalapeño; it is no joke, a bit overwhelming honestly. My friends had a hard time drinking it because it was so incredibly hot. The cucumber marg was more refreshing. However, neither of them were strong like I'm used to at Mexican restaurants. The queso fundido was yummy. My friends and I split the shrimp ceviche, which was ok, but I honestly expected better based on the reviews I'd seen.
