I dropped by The Tailgate last Friday night, looking forward to "making a night out of it" watching the Notre Dame, IU games and enjoying the Karaoke. I have visited The Tailgate on several previous occasions, enjoying the quality food, drink specials and overall atmosphere. But last Friday night was not one of those times. The wait staff was apparently overwhelmed by the size or number of customers as it took 20 minutes to request the two items (onions and cheese) that were left off the Traditional Tailgator burger that was ordered. And another 25 minutes to ( for the second time) get the correct slice of cheese. At this point, the burger and fries were cold, the bun was stale. I left the food uneaten. I requested and paid the check, essentially paying $10 for a diet coke with a refill. Extremely disappointed. Took the rest of my night's business to BW3's. I believe there were three possible resolutions that were available to the wait staff, the worst of which (from a customer's viewpoint) was taken. I'm not inclined to reward sub par service or quality. Just thought you might wanna know.

My husband and I used a Groupon. We wanted to try something on our side of town. We were pleasantly surprised because Wednesday's they have DJ Bingo and $2 well drinks. Double thumbs up! Unfortunately, we walked in and immediately noticed the air conditioning wasn't working properly. They had ceiling fans and other fans, but that's not AC. We ordered a few mix drinks while playing bingo which was good. My husband ordered a burger & fries which he enjoyed. I ordered a breaded chicken sandwich with fries which was average. Summary-Great happy hour drink specials, fun DJ Bingo, subpar food, and no AC.

Karaoke is awesome and the food and service is awesome!

I'm not sure why this location is not technically listed on Yelp, but it's been there for many…read moreyears. I've eaten there on several occasions in the past. I'm usually good about reviewing places that I go to, so I'm not sure why this one got away from me in writing a review previously. There's a few other Ale Emporium locations around the metro area that I have not tried. This is the one that's closest to me. In the past, the food has been acceptable. Their menu offers appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and they also have a separate full bar area. They have TVs all around the place along with sports memorabilia decor. Today I decided to try a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and I had some potato salad with it. The potato salad was exceptionally good. The Philly cheesesteak was just OK. It could've used some more meat, onions and peppers on it as well as cheese. They don't offer an au jus dipping sauce. That was disappointing. The sandwich was just OK. The toasted sub bread had a little too much butter on it. The meat was tender enough, but it was also really chopped up quite a bit. My guest had a club sandwich and coleslaw. They liked their meal but mentioned that the coleslaw had a little too much mayonnaise. They actually had more quantity (sandwich) to their meal than I did in mine. The pricing was expected considering how much it costs just to get the basics anymore at a sit down bar / restaurant. I'm giving them three stars because it's really gone downhill as far as the cleanliness of the place. When we first sat down, our table had some kind of liquid all over it. It was a spill that was not cleaned up prior to us sitting down. There were lots of open tables, but that's the table we got. I asked the waitress if she could wipe it off and she did. Our server was friendly and attentive enough. Our food didn't come out too soon vs. didn't have to wait a real long time as well. We went earlier in the day so it wasn't busy or crowded. I did not visit the bathroom, but sometimes I do just to see what that looks like. It can be an indicator of what the rest of the place could look like, especially the condition of the kitchen. The place really does need a good scrubbing down on the walls and the floors as well as the baseboards to make the grade regarding Chef Ramsay's specs anyway. The menus looked old and worse for the wear. They were sticky and could use a good wiping down or maybe they need to print a whole new batch. The parking can get sparse and tricky if it's really busy. I am not sure if I would go back. There's a few other restaurants I'd like to try instead. Greenwood and the south side in general definitely does not lack restaurants to choose from.

Don't let the outside fool you--this place opens up into a surprisingly spacious sports bar once…read moreyou step inside. We stopped in for lunch with no trouble finding a spot right at the bar. The daily food and drink specials made choosing lunch even harder (in the best way). We ordered the breaded tenderloin and the Hot Italian sandwich, and both were excellent. Now...let's talk about that Indiana tenderloin. It hangs so far off the bun that the bread is basically just there for moral support. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what you hope for when ordering a Hoosier classic. The Hot Italian didn't disappoint either--loaded with flavor and paired with fries that were crispy, well-seasoned, and dangerously addictive. Fries Worth Fighting Over? Inside you'll find wall-to-wall TVs, a stage for live music, and regular events like poker and trivia nights, making it just as much of a destination as it is a neighborhood sports bar. Whether you're stopping in to catch a game, grab lunch, or meet friends for a cold beer, Whiskey Business nails that relaxed local-bar atmosphere. Good food, generous portions, friendly people, and plenty of reasons to come back.

Our waitress came by and we ordered a beer and an iced tea. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea which I did not drink, it was not plain unsweetened tea. Seemed like it had a lot of artificial lemon in it, not sure, but I know I did not like it. The hubby had a Corona and our friend had a pitcher of beer. We perused the menus and it did take a good while for the waitress to come back and take the order. The hubby ordered a hamburger and fries and our friend had the buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered the twice baked tater skins. The husband said his fries were cold and the burger looked like a frozen patty as it was perfectly formed and it was just ok. I may have ordered the wrong dish myself as I did not care for the potato cheese mixture that was inside so I ended up stripping all the insides out and just ate the skins themselves. Husband had to flag down the waitress to get the bill and keep in mind that they were not busy. It is a typical bar atmosphere in here with TVs all around the perimeter. We were sitting at a high-top table but they had both low and high.
