Had to eat here two days in a row while I was in town. Absolutely phenomenal Pad Thai! I went with the hot the first day and then xtra hot the next with two sides of chili oil to bump up the pain as needed. Do not, not eat here and give them a shot. My mom and I ordered from The Takeout Box one evening when I was over at her house and everything was deeeelicious. As the name states, they specialize in takeout fare (although there is some seating onsite), although we got our order through delivery. I ordered the chicken bao buns and the gang garee (yellow curry) with chicken and my mom got the glass noodles and we split a mango coconut sticky rice for dessert. The bao buns were SO good. It was fried chicken, red onion, daikon radish, carrots, cucumber, and spicy mayo (you can also make it halal for an additional charge) all wrapped up a pillowy bun. Two per order was a good size, too. And the gang garee? Excellent. The curry sauce is so good, the chicken was nice but the real standout were the potatoes. I don't know WHAT they do to them but they were incredible. I added peanuts to my order which I would also highly recommend for a little bit of added crunchy texture. The portion on that one was perfect for one meal but if you were planning splitting it with someone else or into two meals for yourself I would recommend adding some apps or another entree to round things out. The mango sticky rice was also great. It was my mom's first time trying it and now she's hooked. We also got bubble teas and I have to admit that was the only thing I wouldn't order again. The drink (black milk tea) itself was very good but the boba was a little on the firm side. Not sure if it was undercooked or just got too cold but it wasn't my favorite. My Fiancé and I happened upon this place when getting coffee at Starbucks a few weeks back They were closed, so we looked over their menu online and decided it was something we wanted to try. Yesterday was the day! We were greeted promptly with a smile, and scanned the QR code to go over the menu again. I got the curry fried rice & the thai fried rice. Both are absolutely amazing. The curry fried rice can taste a bit too sweet at times. And the thai fried rice definitely could use a bit more saltiness. Overall, this place is really good. I knocked one star down for the portion of the food in comparison to the price. Takeout Box could end up being one of my favorite places for Thai food. I've been here twice since the COVID stay at home started and both times our carry out service was good and food even better. The first time hubby and I shared two meals - Drunken Noodles and Firecracker Chicken. The servings were big - we had some Drunken Noodles leftover. Although we really liked them both, we both thought we preferred the Drunken Noodles. Because I liked them both so much, I'd like to get both again and share. The second time I got carryout it was just me so I got Drunken Noodles and spring rolls. It was a nice bonus to see that an order of Spring rolls is actually two rolls. They were fairly good - I may order again to help me decide if I really like them. The Drunken Noodles dish was yummy again. Medium spice is plenty for this spice lover. We were craving Thai food and this popped up on DoorDash. We ordered the Firecracker Chicken, Pork Belly Buns, Thai Fried Rice, Crispy Rolls and Pad Thai. It needs to be paired with a spicy sauce to bring the crispy rolls up a notch. I've had better Pad Thai like other reviewers have noted as well, but still easy on the taste buds. The Thai Fried Rice I must say was the best out of all the entrees. The spice level was perfect and the flavors were divine. Judging from the words 'Takeout Box', you would never guess that this is a new pan-Asian eatery. Their location was a small suite in a strip mall to the west of the local Sam's Club. I counted nine two-top tables so the dine-in capacity was not large, but takeout is their game as indicated by its name. The restaurant was still in its soft opening phase with full operating hours scheduled to roll out in January. The menu had offerings from China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and even Laos. Korean fare would be the one biggie missing from this group. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant surprise to see such a wide span of cuisine choices coming out of a single kitchen in a suburb where nothing like this exists. From the list of seven starters, the one which caught my attention was the Tornado Potato. I usually see this item sold only at county/state fairs during the warmer months of the year so I wanted to try their version of deep fried spiral cut potatoes on a stick. You could order it with a pre-specified sauce or do what I did and added various seasonings that were available on a tray off to one side of the service counter. The amount of batter the cook used was just the right level to keep the potato light and crispy. After a lot of indecision, I picked the Glass Noodle as my entree from the Specialty group. The wok fried transparent noodles were prepared with grounded pork, red pepper, cilantro and mint as a classic Laotian flavor combination. The dish was served in a convenient plastic, recyclable take-out box which was what I needed anyways for the portion I took home as leftovers. A place with such a humble name - Yelp suggested we try it and after a glance at the menu, I had to oblige. We have done takeout from here four times, never dined in - the name basically demands it. :) I love the bao buns as appetizers. Although it's not a lot of food for $6, one order gives me, my partner, and my kids each half a tasty bao bun. Shockingly for a guy who ADORES pork and specifically pork belly, I actually like the chicken one a bit more. I thought the beef kushiyashi was overdone and a bit bland, so I wouldn't order that one again. We ordered the Tomyum soup the first two times I went, but they forgot to include it in our order the second time. It was good, a bit spicy, with two lonely shrimp, but definitely worth it for $3 (as long as they remember to include it). My entrees have been the drunken noodle, bang bang shrimp, and Thai chicken basil. The drunken noodle was good-not-great - it was a bit short on noodles, which are the star of the dish, and although I normally portion out my food and eat half, I ate this whole dish and was glad I also had an appetizer. The bang bang shrimp was good. It felt more like an appetizer than an entree - there wasn't enough sauce on it to justify putting it on top of white rice, and there were no vegetables with it (other than a sprinkling of scallions). Not quite worth $15 in my opinion, but very tasty. The Thai chicken basil is the rockstar dish I've ordered twice now and will probably be my go-to going forward - it's fantastic, very saucy and excellent with a white rice side. I got the pho for my kids. It was good, I just wish there was more soup. I feel like the ratio of broth to delicious sprouts and basil and meat and noodles is a bit off - I always have leftover veggies and not enough soup broth to pour on them. I have a peanut allergy and I'm also pescetarian. When I told them that, they confirmed to me that the food I ordered did not have peanuts. They also made sure that I was okay to eat egg by letting me know that the tofu drunken noodles I ordered did come with egg. Great customer service, I didn't have an allergic reaction, but I still don't think it was worth the price of the food. I thought the pho I ordered could use more flavor. Long story short, this is my favorite place to get a takeout meal. Their food is absolutely delicious every time. My kids and I can't get enough of the bang bang shrimp. We order 3 or 4 portions for the three of us every time. The portions are substantial enough to have leftovers the next day. We gorge ourselves on it and then fight over the leftovers. They bao buns are also delicious, as is the chicken satay, fried rice, drunken noodles, firecracker chicken. Everything we've tried has been fire. The spice levels go hard too... we order mild and think it's pretty spicy. I wouldn't order less than mild as I have been disappointed doing that before - the heat brings out the flavors. When we have a long period of time where we don't get to order from takeout box, we dream of the bang bang shrimp. Every now and then we'll find ourselves wistfully longing for it. Yummy & quick lunch in Canton! I was out running errands and had a craving for Thai food. I walked in, ordered and my food was ready in 10 minutes. I tried two of my go-to's - Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Green Curry with Chicken. Both were excellent! Piping hot, even by the time I got home, tons of fresh veggies & the spice was perfect. This was our first time ordering from The Takeout Box and we decided to use their website to make our selections. You get a nice little discount by doing so. The order was dropped off about 5-10 minutes earlier than their estimated arrival--about 40 minutes--not bad for a Friday night! The order was accurate and all of the dishes were hot, fresh and presented well. We ordered 9 different items so that we could try a wide representation of their menu but there was a lot of items that tempted us that we'll have to get some other time. Their spring rolls came two to an order and they were light, crunchy and had a nice vegetable mix. The Pork Belly Bao Buns were soft and delicious. Their Fresh Rolls really stood out. My wife gobbled both up without leaving much for me, which is truly atypical. That's the dish she wants most again soon! I really enjoyed their Crispy Rolls. They were a perfect blend of crunchiness and great flavor. The dipping sauce was excellent. The Drunken Noodles rocked, as did their Pad Thai (with shrimp) and I particularly enjoyed their Thai Fried Rice. Their Hmong Sausage was a treat, as was their Mango Sticky Rice. I'm not necessarily a rice lover but even their sticky rice was terrific--best I've had! I had really never understood why people rave about something like white sticky rice until I tried theirs. We had a lot of leftovers, which were excellent the next day. We ordered various degrees of spice (even "no spice") and felt that their application of spice was spot on to what we asked for. The menu's description of how hot each level actually was seemed very true to life. Our leftovers slightly increased in heat as the dishes had time overnight to soak up sauces and spices.
