Went to Talk House for the first time with two couples for dinner. It was pretty full, there is a parking lot in the back where we found the last open parking place. Friendly atmosphere, well trained staff, and a nice "buzz" greeted us as we went in. We recognized some long time friends dining there, and we knew they only went to "good" restaurants, so we knew this would be a good experience. I ordered the crab stack appetizer for the table, it was fabulous. Their salads were full of interesting additions. We ordered two bouillabaisses and two fish dishes, all came with generous portions and we managed to finish them off, leaving no room for desert. The wine selections were nice and not overpriced. We are definitely planning to bring back other friends to this restaurant in Stuart just north of the Roosevelt Bridge. read more

Fine dining on the Treasure Coast!  We wanted a special night out to celebrate our anniversary and Talk:house did not disappoint.  Great drinks, great food, great service.  We both had mixed drinks (cosmo & bourbon old fashioned) and they were among the best we've had.  The crab tower, rack of lamb, stuffed snapper, and key lime brule were all excellent.  And Aubrie, our waitperson, took great care of us, checking in often and anticipating our needs.  It was one of those top notch dining experiences that you so rarely find these days.  We'll definitely be back! read more

Wow what a great change from what was there before. The remodel is great light and welcoming and love the outside dining. We bellied up to the bar to check it out. Service was excellent Ashley and Tony were on point and didn't miss a beat. We tried the stuffed mushrooms, salmon roll, meatball,coconut shrimp and the escargot. Hands down the mushrooms were the BOMB mmmm good. The other appetizers were good too but loved the shrooms. Love the happy hour prices will return again to sample the dinners . My husband and I decided to try someplace new for a quiet, birthday dinner. We will definitely return! The almond crusted Brie and the coconut shrimp appetizers were delicious! The shrimp were so much bigger than we expected. My salmon entree was perfect and my husbands steak was melted in his mouth. Great service and great drinks too! read more

The Talk House from Day one has been spot on. Besides Chef David's perfection and attention to details on every lunch and dinner dish that the staff serves up as well as the wine and cocktails in a most professional manner. The servers and bartenders especially Jessica today who is new and fits right in with all of them and reflects a fantastic attitude which is a reflection that they enjoy working here and additional makes the dinning experience even more pleasurable. My wife & I both love this restaurant. Service is excellent and the food outstanding. The absolute best beef carpaccio I have ever had.

I would like to call this place a hidden hem and it has all the ingredients to be one as it is off the beaten path, the ambiance and entertainment were outstanding and the food was good but it missed the mark on a few points We went on a Saturday night around 8pm with no reservations. We were lucky to get a high top by the door right next to the hostess stand. The two hostesses were talking with a manager ( or owner) and failed to notice that no one had come to the table although we had plenty of time to make all our ordering decisions. Once we asked for a server we got an excellent young woman who knew her wines and was very efficient. Unfortunately the appetizers I had recommended to my sister came quickly but was undercooked ( fried green tomatoes) . The flavor was good but tomatoes were hard. For our next course we shared mushroom fettuccine. It missed the mark as the sauce was a bit heavy handed and could have had more mushrooms and seasoning. The dish included a salad but it failed to come before the entree arrived. Our server was kind enough to wrap it for us. It was my third visit and the other times were just for happy hour. I will return. My opinions are my own but with a few tweaks it could have been better. Love the location and patio is beautiful! The Speakeasy their private area for parties looked fun too! Heard a lot about this place since a lot of our friends eat here regularly. Seemed nice enough. Nice indoor and outdoor space. Music in and out. Staff was friendly. Nice local craft beer choices. We both had Hoplife Nuthouse porter-delicious. We asked our server what the chef selection was for the fish as we were thinking about ordering the fish sandwich and the menu reads- chef selection, Market price. She told us hogfish-we were sold since that is my favorite! We ordered the salmon roll, beet salad, mushroom burger, and the fish sandwich. She reads the order back and mentions mahi... I mention how she told us hogfish and she says no mahi is the fish? She looked confused as if the dolphin is always the fish sandwich so I show her the menu about market price...chef selection..blah blah. She walks away comes back and says they will do the hogfish for the same price as the fish meal (37$). Now, we aren't fussy about cost but come on, a forty dollar sandwich? If the sandwich is always mahi-don"t make us ask and waste 20 minutes on it. This was not an ugly situation or anything just needless...update the menu and be done with it. We decided against the 40 dollar sandwich . The salmon roll and burger were good. The beet salad had too many beets, not enough lettuce and definitely not enough goat cheese which is the highlight of a beet salad. The raspberry vinaigrette was delish though! The fried green tomatoes were too bready. We didn't have a bad time but nothing spectacular about the meal. It's a shame- we wanted to love it. read more

I gave 3 because of the good service, I only talk about what ate or tasted, Caesar salad, very tasty, margarita of the house, you can forget it, crab cake has a strange taste!!!!! Mash potatoes ok, green veggies ok, the lobster sauce very good but too liquid..... pastas with mushrooms, sauce very good, but the pastas not great. And bread is not fresh, microwaved? We went just for happy hour and appetizers and they were excellent! The bar filled up quickly for happy hour and there are a nice selection of small plates. We ordered the eggplant stack off the appetizer part of menu and it was excellent, filled with spinach and cheese. For our small plates we got the stuffed mushrooms which were our favorite and the coconut shrimp were huge (3) served on plantains. The bar staff were friendly and efficient. Talk is one of our favorite restaurants in the Stuart area... Their entrees consistently excel, whether it be seafood, poultry or beef. The portions are filling and the presentations are colorful. Recently I had the "Rack of Lamb", it was excellent, presented in a herringbone pattern of 8 lollipop size ribs over mashed potatoes with a side. Another time, Swordfish, excellent and grilled to perfection. I could go on and on with the many other dishes we've had with a varied array of compliments, but you get the point! Definitely spot on for quality, consistency and value. read more

We had dinner last night at the Talkhouse Stuart which is the old location of Courtines by the old Roosevelt Bridge. This was a small birthday celebration and management was kind enough to allow us to bring in our own birthday cake that they served it at the end of the meal very graciously. We started with an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes which were the best I've ever had! The tomatoes were lightly brown and crispy garnished with bacon bits and peppadew peppers and a delicious sauce. Everybody gobbled it up! We all had martinis and they were served promptly and nice and cold. The service was quite good and efficient. I had requested an outside table and it was delightful sitting on their new large patio. Two of us ordered the baked stuffed hogfish that was very good, stuffed with a mixture of crab and shrimp and lightly dusted with Parmesan cheese breading. Absolutely delicious! Very generous portions. Two of the other people ordered the veal chop which was cooked to Perfection and beautifully dressed with smashed potatoes asparagus and an orchid! All of the entrees included a small salad. The presentation of all of the food served was fantastic! I would recommend this stylish new restaurant but definitely recommend getting reservations in advance. read more

After hearing great things about the new Talk House we decided to give it a try. We were told, go early or you won't get a seat at the bar, which was true. Arrived there at about 4:00 for happy hour and by 4:10 the bar was jammed with standing room only. On their website they boast 4:00 - 6:00 half off drinks, but this is NOT entirely true. It's only half off on house wines, some beers and low end liquor. When I questioned Tony the bartender, he asked someone who I believed to be a manager about it. He rudely responded that the website doesn't say half off drinks. I pulled out my phone and showed it to the bartender. He said he would make management aware that it DOES say half off drinks and doesn't specify that it's only certain drinks. Of course I drank my $11.00 a glass wine because it's what I like. We ordered fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were topped with pimento cheese and bacon and served with remolade sauce and they were excellent! We each had gourmet burgers for dinner. I had the Diane, with a creamy mushroom sauce and my husband had the Au Poive. They were served with both French fries and vegetable which was a nice touch. They were both delicious. Chef David is an amazing creative knowledge chef . He knows what the foodies want , yet keeps the favors fresh and pleasing to a Diner . Service is professional without the attitude. We were having a very nice evening and meal here, but then we were told that we had "exceeded our time limit " and we needed to leave our table!! What the hell?!! In all the years we have dined out, this was a first! Completely ruined our (first) visit to this place, and we will definitely not be returning. It's too bad they seem to think that customer service can suffer if they feel they have good food. Guess what? For our anniversary, my wife and I tried out the Talk House. We were past patrons of Courtines. A lot has changed. The decor and reworked layout is really very nice. They now have a very large bar area which was what everyone always wanted. They did a great job! Unfortunately all of that initial impression was wasted on the service, food presentation and food preparation. Our meal for 2 was about $100. This was for 2 entrees and 2 drinks. This was about what we expected and is similar to the past. However, the service was not great. They need to spend some time training their staff a bit in mid price dining. I felt the service was similar to what I'd get at Olive Garden or one of the other chains. Not great. The salad came next and actually was good and looked good. They also had a nice bread basket. The entrees, while the ingredients were great, were not visually appealing on the plate and the preparation was very ordinary. It used to be that in Stuart FL you could get away was putting anything on a plate, however there are places like The District, LouRonzos, Riverwalk and a few others, were you'd pay about the same and have a better experience. I'm taking the time to write this review in hope that some changes can be made so we can have another great place in Stuart. read more

Really excited to have such a gourmet dining option in our little town. Located just north of the old Roosevelt Bridge in the building where Cortines restaurant used to be. Magnificently redone it's hard to imagine that it's the same building. They had a soft opening on Wednesday which I missed but enjoyed it so much Thursday that I went back Friday for two nights in a row. First night I sat at the bar alone but met some wonderful people and was tended to buy Angela behind the bar. The drinks and the food were fabulous!. The second night I went with my girlfriend and sat at a table and was also fantastic and the food again was fabulous. I can't wait to go again and work my way through the entire menu. So far I had duck breast serve medium rare I believe with a bordelaise sauce and the second night we had scallops with A saffron bur blanc sauce and lamb chops in a port wine demi-glaze. We also loved the beef carpaccio appetizer. I can't even pick what I enjoy the most I guess I'd have to say the scallops were the best I've ever had but the carpaccio I wish I could have right now. A really nice happy hour with good food during happy hour and even better food for the full menu. The location is really cool as it's on the other side of the bridge and it feels like a local hangout. It's a bit of an older crowd over all. The bar is usually full of regulars and it can be hard to find a seat early. read more

First time at The Talk "of Stuart" House. Another restaurant that hit it out of the ballpark! We were here last year when it was Cortines - but they were bought out and the new owner redid the whole place and it looks MAGNIFICENT! Now the old Cortines was super but it was old and tired looking, but the food was to die for. This owner and/or owner/chef really outdid himself. The parking - no problem, the hostess - polite and happy- the waitress Mariah top notch. I always love a waitress who doesn't need to read off a cheat sheet to tell us the specials. Very attentive, personable and professional! I had the best salad and Shrimp Jessica, came with 5 huge shrimp, spinach sautéed and mushroom risotto! 5 stars for both My hubby had house salad and Jumbalaya (?) He needed more bread ( which by the way was hot and the butter soft) and we ate 2 baskets of bread to lap up the juice! 5 stars My friend had house salad and Calves Liver. Now I haven't had liver in many years, I just had to have a bite of hers - served smothered in sautéed onions and 3 strips of crisp bacon with asparagus and broccoli steamed and a scoop of delicious mashed potatoes! I did ask about the stuff, I'm not an animal and tried all her food, just the liver. 5 stars Her husband had Caesar salad with anchovies and a perfectly cooked Filet Mignon- steamed veggies and mushroom risotto! Another 5 stars. So it was pretty awesome and it was full considering it's been open a little over 1 month. These people have figured it out. You will need a reservation, they had a great bar scene, huge TV comfortable seating in the bar area and an amazing piano player. Not too loud, but you could here and still maintain a conversation! In the warmer weather, which I hope we get soon, they had a huge patio out back with lounge settees and tables and chairs. 5 stars for everything about The Talk House it is the Talk of Stuart!! read more
