    Short rib pasta

Our hotel was a sister property and there was a drink special. We went for the drinks and stayed for the food and friendly service. The bar outside was hopping - we were not the only ones to partake of the drink special - and it took us a minute to get the bartenders attention. Thankful to Darlene who helped us and we were quickly enjoying a delicious white sangria. We sat for dinner and attended to by Sami who was friendly, professional and great to chat with. What a nice group of people. I had an amazing grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. It was crispy and buttery and had a great cheese pull. Hubby had the short rib pasta and said it was one of the best pasta dishes he'd had. I saw they had Japanese pancakes on the menu and will definitely make a trip back to try those.

There wasn't anyone to greet us at the outdoor dining area, which meant we had to go inside to be seated outside. The food was average but the server was nice. My mojito was flat. Eh. Not a place I'd visit again.

It is hard not to be mystified when you walk by the old Mount Vernon Hotel and see the beautiful patio. Lots of greenery and cozy seating space at the outdoor bar or tables. We must have come at an odd time, because we were the only ones there. I had looked at the outdoor menu and really wanted the eggs benny, but missed that was only for breakfast. I do not love wraps or sandwiches, so I went with the caprese salad.(It was a 'thing' on this trip to try it if it was on the menu- the variety of terrible caprese salads in Miami is a whole thing..) This one came with greens (not advertised as such) which made me happy as many do not come that way as a "salad" down here. The bar drinks were delish and our bartender was politely friendly. The server/manager was sitting down the way and obviously preoccupied with some list. So much so that our meals were also obviously forgotten and it took a gentle reminder to get them delivered. So much for sitting at the bar to make it easier! Haha. Inside, where the restrooms were, didn't strike me at all as the photo someone else posted here. It had a strong smell of stale smoke, and felt like an outdated 70's lounge. I would not have enjoyed eating in here, despite my general love of all things vintage. So, 4 stars for cool outdoor scene, great cocktails, and the best caprese salad so far in Miami Beach!

We came in on a Thursday night. It was pretty empty. We came around 9:10pm. We sat ourselves They had some games playing by the bar. Some music but really low. The outdoor area is only covered with umbrellas so it was nice vibe Our server was a little rushed in taking our orders. Once we ordered our food and got a refill on our drinks that was probably the last time we saw him though. The food came out and it was really yummy ! Super hot though lol I couldn't eat it all at that moment from how hot it was but my husband could with his so I just took mine to Go. Our server really never came back though. Someone else though is our food and someone else cashed us out. All in all for food I would come back but on service I probably wouldn't dine In

The Tavern is connected to Oceanside Hotel which is a historic building with tons of character. I was staying at the hotel and found the tavern to be super convenient! Their is outdoor seating at a table or the bar with fans going or inside options with AC! The servers were quiet but friendly and attentive. They still had breakfast going at 11am which was nice for late risers and the breakfast sandwhich was pretty good. 3 eggs on a sandwhich and a choice of potatoes or fruit. This place is a bout a block from the beach and has a nice vibe!

Just us having a blast at Tavern. We may or may not be tipsy

My boyfriend and I stopped here to have adult beverages. Mike was our bartender. He was super friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond. I highly recommend if you are a local or visiting- come see Mike! He's the best!

We had a terrible experience here. The silverware was dirty, and our food came out unevenly, with some people waiting while others ate cold meals. The service was awful--our server repeatedly promised refills but never followed through, and he didn't even know how to use the POS system properly. To top it off, they added both a service charge and a gratuity fee, and when my bf tried to pay with his American Express, they claimed they didn't accept it. After some back and forth, they suddenly accepted it. We felt completely uncomfortable, and I won't be returning.

Hard to walk past, it is enticing with the atmosphere, the fans and the energy but it is mediocre for Miami Beach cuisine. Surrounded by Argentinian breakfast spots, go to Manolos. Services, food, and pricing are all better. I came on a Sunday morning, to have breakfast with my dog and my mom. The server didn't like that I sat at a four top table but I sat there because my dog is 120lbs and takes up a lot of space. The server wanted me to move to a two top between another two couples (with the dog) I told him he wouldn't fit so he put us at a two top near the bar. The table was so wobbly that it spilled my moms coffee, and since the table was closest to the kitchen the food runners, servers and even guests coming into the restaurant kept accidentally bumping the table and spilling more coffee. We ordered our food, I had avocado toast with three eggs. The eggs were a different color than my mom's, you could tell they let them sit and it had gotten cold. My avocado toast was tasteless. No condiments were brought to us. The server took a while to ask us how our food was, I had to ask for condiments and a water bowl for my dog. Mind you, THERE IS GRATUITY INCLUDED. And it wasn't even a full house or anything, there was maybe 5 different groups there that day. They don't offer water either apparently. My mom's food was fine, she ordered the waffles with eggs and bacon. She didn't like the coffee it is standard American coffee. I HIGHLY suggest skipping this place and going to Manolos, Buenos Aires bakery or even Dennys would probably be better and they don't have tip included for bad service.

This is kind of place where you need to take matters into your own hands, because no one else will. The only people who enjoy this place even more than I do are the flies, every table gets its own assortment of fruit flies to keep you and your food company

For a place that you could easily walk right past... do yourself a favor and STOP IN. You would 100% never believe the food looks, and IS this good. Very hospitable staff, great food, fun bar... I'd chill here any day. Check out the pictures, they speak 1,000 words. MARIE IS THE BEST SERVER IN MIAMI

I usually find it after midnight. I always find parking right in-front of the business which means street parking is easily accessible, and feesabile. . This is one of those trendier dive bars. There is a jukebox; and if you're smart; you can download the "Touchtones" app, connect it to their jukebox; buy credits and totally dominate the jukebox the whole night, with stupid Whitney songs and Ariana Grande songs, and no one can stop you, and, no one can do anything about it, and you can sit at the end of the bar amused. Or, you can just randomly jam out because your song came on. There's a pool table as well,. Sometimes there's an angry loud big breasted local dominating the table who doesn't want any competition playing, (oh well). The bathrooms are cleaner than most of the other dive bars I have crawled into. I have met the owner, hes a tall Russian guy, and I have met 2 of the many bar ladies; their names are; Tefanie and Marcia. Everyone is friendly. The drinks are cheap, however; they have a $10 minimum for Debit or Credit cards. Overall if you can find this place then you should give it a go if you're in the area.

They bill themselves as a sports bar, and maybe that is more the case if you sit inside. We opted to sit out on the sidewalk / patio in front. The inside appeared to be fairly large, so that might be better dining option overall. The 10 or 12 tables they have outside are okay - there is an awning to provide shade and when we visited it was in the evening so heat / sun wasn't a huge issue. However, it got pretty windy outside while we were there. Also, you are technically on the sidewalk, so pedestrians, cyclists, and electric scooter riders zip in between the two rows of tables. None of this was a huge issue, but if you want to have more control over your dining environment, inside might be a better choice. The menu provided quite a variety - sandwiches, a bit of pasta, fish, meat, salads, etc. I think any party would have a good chance of satisfying everyone. My wife opted for fish and I got a burger. We both enjoyed our food and had leftovers as well (which ended up being part of the next night's dinner). They also had a full bar; the drink pricing seemed pretty good given the standards of this area. If you are just looking for a standard (or slightly better) American bar food dinner, this is a solid choice.

Then, they moved to the Broadmore Hotel, quite possibly the worst hotel on Miami Beach. I stayed there once, only once, and still question why anyone would stay there, much less eat there. Therefore, I never ate at that location. Last week, I read that Taquiza was relocating due to that crappy hotel being torn down for some new overpriced condo hotel. It said that it was moving into its own tortilla factory in the NE 2nd corridor. Since this is near our home, I made a mental note of it. This area has one of the best taco shops in all of Miami, La Santa, so there is some stiff competition. Nonetheless, I convinced my wife to go grab a couple of tacos before heading home. We got there, no one was waiting, so we were able to order immediately. We asked was the most popoular items were and they said the crispy fish tacos and pastor. We decided to order the asado and carnitas along with the esquites. We were told that we should wait outside while they assemble it. We did. It took forever. I decided to go next door for a beer from Off Site/No Seasons while we waited...for over a half an hour. Way, way too long for tacos. When the order came, though, it was packaged extremely nicely. The tacos are small, very small, even for street tacos. My wife is Mexican, so when she says this, then you know they are on the small size. The asado meat was juicy and tender and perfect. The carnitas meat was cooked nicely but had the overpowering (and unnecessary) flavor of cardamom; carnitas should not have this flavor. In addition to the meats, the lovely blue corn tortillas of old were non-existant, replaced with what seemed to be day-old crunchy and curled corn tortillas. These were definitely not fresh, which was extremely weird given the time that it took to make. The onions and cilantro were nicely packaged up for us, even if the onions were a little larger chopped than traditional. The limes were super dry without any juice. Ugh, the misses just kept coming... Finally, the esquites portion was large, perfectly cooked with a little bit of char on most of the kernels. This looked delicious. But, it wasn't. There was no seasoning. No Tajin. No pepper. Not even salt. Just bland kernels. It did have a little cotija cheese, but ever so slightly, not enough to alter the flavor. We had asked for sour cream, but none was included in our take away bag. While we ate the tacos in the car, we made the decision to bring the corn home and add to it lime juice, more cotija, sour cream, Tajin, and salt. It ended up tasting quite nice, but it should have been presented that way when we purchased it. I guess, after this experience trying to help out a local company, I'll wait another decade to try it again. You know sometimes, you just want a place to be great, but it just isn't. For me, I have no clue how this place made it into the MICHELIN Guide; what you see in the Guide is not what you get. If you want good tacos in that neighborhood, go across the street to La Santa. You can thank me later.
