The tea and coffee exchange is a cute little Spot that is packed with some delicious surprises. Me and my fiancée were on our way home from big bear and we stopped here. What I can say is .. the two young ladies working the back were amazing and hard working. There is a lot of indoor space here with some tables outside. They also had some chessboards to play if you hung out and it looked like they had other games. The service was nothing short of amazing. The two young ladies were answering all my questions and had recommendations. They were a little busy but they were getting everything out in good timing . We got a coffee , jasmine latte, a muffin, and the basil sandwich. The coffee did hit the spot for me and the latte was a little stronger than was expected but we added some water and we were golden. The sandwich we pretty good. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars... there are some great opportunities here for this coffee and tea spot. I think if you narrowed out some specialty drinks like your seasonal and had them standard on the menu that would be great. I think you have a great little spot and I look forward to going back.

Stopped by The Tea & Coffee Exchange in Big Bear during our fall getaway. We loved the rich café latte, smooth hot chocolate and the most delicious Nutella crepes! Service was quick and easy. A must-visit spot to relax and enjoy the cozy vibe.

The mango smoothie, I asked to add a banana to it.

Went here today and the service and everything we ordered was GREAT, especially the turkey pesto panini - will get again. The smoothies are also really good. We got mango, and added banana. Excellent!

On the far left there was a coffee menu that was cat themed, so cute! Ordered the Calico which was dark chocolate, white chocolate and caramel and it was delicious. But that was my husbands drink. For my drink , I ordered a London Fog. I'm not sure they knew how to make these. Because the one I got was not great.... I'm thinking they burned the tea leaves in my tea with too hot of water. But the milk wasn't frothy enough. I don't know.. maybe they need more training. I was a bit annoyed with this place because the bathroom says you need a code to enter. Ok, fine. It also says the code is on your receipt... but their machines do not print receipts! So you don't have the code! Also their trash cans are very full in both the bathroom and seating areas. And that's probably the most grossest thing of all.

The half dozen young people serving us were adorable, sweet, and very fast at making our paninis crepes and drinks. I brought our whole party back and the grilled cheeze had more cheese than was necessary in the best way. People who don't like the service here or found bad "attitudes" probably hate young people or are tired travellers. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best coffee shop in Big Bear Lake! The Tea & Coffee Exchange is my go-to every time I'm in the mountains. The service is amazing, the coffee is always fresh and delicious, and their breakfast sandwiches are to die for--hearty, filling, and perfect for a day of hiking. The crepes are incredible too, and the prices can't be beat. It's a cozy, welcoming spot with that true mountain town vibe, and the staff treats you like family. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Big Bear!

Would not come back! "Allow 15 minutes for panini" There were 3 employees and I was the only one in line After ordering I waited very patiently for 15 minutes while the 3 employees made their own drinks, hung out and made jokes complaining about being fired. I asked them what's the eta thinking they're working while chatting away. Apparently he forgot to make the order (I'm the only one in the store aside from a group that has already gotten their drink orders complete) These employees are 0/5 stars The coffee is ok- nothing to come back for they put syrup flavoring - and you can taste the chemical in the syrup Overall very disappointing- owner needs to either hire a manager or get new employees all together - what happened was unacceptable- they're not busy and there were no other orders - the excuse is they forgot.....

visited this restaurant around 12:00 PM on February 19, 2026, and the experience was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered a turkey pesto sandwich and clearly requested NO mozzarella cheese. After waiting 40 minutes, I had to walk up and ask about my order -- only to find out they had completely forgotten it. There was no apology. No urgency. No accountability. When they finally made the sandwich, they still failed to follow my original request. It's unbelievable that such a simple instruction couldn't be respected. The coffee I ordered was also nothing like what was advertised or expected. The restaurant was not busy at all, which makes this level of disorganization even more inexcusable. On top of everything, the way I was treated felt dismissive and disrespectful. The attitude I received was extremely unprofessional and made the entire experience even worse. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed that I wasted my morning there. I absolutely do NOT recommend this place. Save your time and money.

Busy spot in the heart of the Big Bear Village. While on a weekend trip to Big Bear we stopped by for coffee with our friends. They have a good selection of baked goods including croissants and muffins. They make crepes, sandwiches and more. I ordered a cold brew with milk which was watery and didn't taste much like coffee. My husband liked his black coffee. Customer service was ok, lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating.

Who can say no to the chocolate cupcake though ?!

I just love Big Bear ! It is such a quaint little town and little findings. We came to this Cafe to charge our Tesla outside as well as get some breakfast. The menu is good ! I loved my turkey, egg and cheese on a croissant and my daughter loved her cupcake. The girls working there were nice and gave some good suggestions of where to go and what to do. It's a nice local spot to just chill and have some coffee before getting into your day.

Perfectly fine normal quick stop coffee shop. The drinks aren't particularly good or bad, it's all the same syrups mix and match. Service is pretty quick with plenty of seats inside and patio seating outside. There are an assortment of random wares for sale and a clean bathroom only available with a code on your receipt.

    Barista pics! Nicely done.

It would elevate the sandwich to the next level. If you don't want to wait, place your order online and pick it up. You know how when you go to a tropical place and people say they're on island time well same goes here their on mountain time and everything takes a bit longer but its worth the wait. It appears tiny but they maximize space by utilizing the upstairs and every inch is decorated with rustic pieces and the smell of coffee and pastries fills the air. Lines can sometimes reach out the door because the coffee and food is good, but the service needs work. I waited for my one coffee (a vanilla latte) for close to 30 minutes. My food order was also incorrect, but that took even longer so I wasn't about to change it. The baristas and cashiers work hard, but I'm afraid they are greatly understaffed and it takes forever to get coffee or food. All the workers seemed very stressed out and it took away from the happy environment on the inside. Maybe I came on an off day, so I hope to try it again in the future with a better experience.

The place may be unassuming, but we were met with the friendliest service (thanks Katie!) and a plethora of delicious tea choices! This place is not like your standard Americanized boba tea shop. They offer REAL teas, made from steeping and not relying on heavy artificial flavor powders. With that said, your drink, especially milk teas, will taste lighter than an Americanized boba tea. Honey is used primarily to sweeten the drinks as well. I absolutely appreciate this practice because I love tasting the actual tea flavor. I ordered the Pumpkin Harvest milk tea and it was DIVINE! My hubby ordered the Passion Fruit green tea and it was so good too! If you're wanting something sweet and more Americanized, we were told the smoothie drinks are made with flavor powders. Also, highly recommend their hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. Delicious!

A few days before the event, I called to order an 8-inch cake and was originally told I could order one and when I called back to put the order in I was told they couldn't make one because they had already baked several 6-inch and 7-inch cakes and needed to sell those first. They suggested purchasing a 7-inch cake along with cupcakes to ensure there was enough for everyone, which seemed reasonable, so we went ahead with their recommendation. We requested pastel decorations and birthday writing for the occasion, paid in advance, and arranged for pickup around 3:00 p.m. on the day of our 4:00 p.m. party. Unfortunately, when my sister arrived around 3:30 p.m., the cake still wasn't ready, causing a significant delay. She eventually received the cake and cupcakes and rushed back to our cabin, arriving late to the surprise party. Shortly after she got back, the bakery called me and informed us that they had accidentally given her the wrong cake and asked us to return it. The cake she received was beautiful, decorated with flowers and a lavender drip design, but it was the wrong flavor and a smaller size than what we had ordered. We were then told that our actual cake was still at the bakery, but it was completely plain white, with none of the pastel decorations or writing we had requested. At that point, the party had already started, and instead of greeting family and friends who had traveled from Los Angeles for this special occasion, we were dealing with a very stressful cake situation. To their credit, the bakery was kind and tried to make things right. They allowed us to keep the cake we had received and delivered additional cupcakes to compensate for the smaller size. Most importantly, every single dessert was delicious. The cake was moist, the cupcakes were fantastic, and everyone enjoyed them. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of communication and apparent miscommunication among staff, which created a lot of unnecessary stress during a milestone celebration. The baked goods themselves were excellent, but I hope they can improve their organization and order management because the quality of their products truly deserves it.
