The tea and coffee exchange is a cute little Spot that is packed with some delicious surprises. Me and my fiancée were on our way home from big bear and we stopped here. What I can say is .. the two young ladies working the back were amazing and hard working. There is a lot of indoor space here with some tables outside. They also had some chessboards to play if you hung out and it looked like they had other games. The service was nothing short of amazing. The two young ladies were answering all my questions and had recommendations. They were a little busy but they were getting everything out in good timing . We got a coffee , jasmine latte, a muffin, and the basil sandwich. The coffee did hit the spot for me and the latte was a little stronger than was expected but we added some water and we were golden. The sandwich we pretty good. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars... there are some great opportunities here for this coffee and tea spot. I think if you narrowed out some specialty drinks like your seasonal and had them standard on the menu that would be great. I think you have a great little spot and I look forward to going back. read more

Gave it a 1 Star!! I was excited to try this place! Caramel cloud frappe was 100% watered down; no taste of caramel, vanilla, just watered down coffee. Cheesecake not good, tastes like frozen burn. Also, cheesecake was not presentable, served on white flimsy cardboard plate. Look was unappetizing and was unappetizing. Definitely on my Not To Go list. read more

On the far left there was a coffee menu that was cat themed, so cute! Ordered the Calico which was dark chocolate, white chocolate and caramel and it was delicious. But that was my husbands drink. For my drink , I ordered a London Fog. I'm not sure they knew how to make these. Because the one I got was not great.... I'm thinking they burned the tea leaves in my tea with too hot of water. But the milk wasn't frothy enough. I don't know.. maybe they need more training. I was a bit annoyed with this place because the bathroom says you need a code to enter. Ok, fine. It also says the code is on your receipt... but their machines do not print receipts! So you don't have the code! Also their trash cans are very full in both the bathroom and seating areas. The half dozen young people serving us were adorable, sweet, and very fast at making our paninis crepes and drinks. I brought our whole party back and the grilled cheeze had more cheese than was necessary in the best way. Genuinely the worst tea I've ever had, and I got charged $7 for it. I never make any posts or reviews but this was so bad I needed to. I was recommended the island breeze black tea. I got honey as a sweetener and cream. It just tasted like water and foam no honey no tea it was bad. I would so much have rather just had a Lipton black tea or something, charging $7 for that is crazy. The guy that made the tea and worked the register was also not friendly really or anything. It was such a bad experience. The only redeeming quality about this place is the inside is decent, nothing crazy but just like any other cafe. read more

Hands down the best coffee shop in Big Bear Lake! The Tea & Coffee Exchange is my go-to every time I'm in the mountains. The service is amazing, the coffee is always fresh and delicious, and their breakfast sandwiches are to die for--hearty, filling, and perfect for a day of hiking. "Allow 15 minutes for panini" There were 3 employees and I was the only one in line After ordering I waited very patiently for 15 minutes while the 3 employees made their own drinks, hung out and made jokes complaining about being fired. I asked them what's the eta thinking they're working while chatting away. visited this restaurant around 12:00 PM on February 19, 2026, and the experience was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered a turkey pesto sandwich and clearly requested NO mozzarella cheese. After waiting 40 minutes, I had to walk up and ask about my order -- only to find out they had completely forgotten it. There was no apology. No urgency. No accountability. When they finally made the sandwich, they still failed to follow my original request. It's unbelievable that such a simple instruction couldn't be respected. The coffee I ordered was also nothing like what was advertised or expected. The restaurant was not busy at all, which makes this level of disorganization even more inexcusable. On top of everything, the way I was treated felt dismissive and disrespectful. The attitude I received was extremely unprofessional and made the entire experience even worse. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed that I wasted my morning there. I absolutely do NOT recommend this place. Save your time and money. read more

I really wanted to like this coffeeshop as it had a great location where Tesla Super Chargers are located. I love supporting local coffee shops, but this place made think why I go back to corporate owned coffeeshops. As many people have mentioned in other reviews, the staffs worked here made me hated this place so much. My visit during the Thanksgiving weekend, 3 girls who worked behind the counter made me feel like dealing with good old high school bullies again. Obvious intentional poor attitudes, poor choices of words, and poor gestures/body languages, overall they were great making customers feel bad for asking status of order or restroom codes. If I was the owner of this coffee shop, I would seriously pay more attention to crappy employees who don't give a damn about the customers and the business. Why can't just smile, be humble and be nice? Is it that hard? Goes around comes around. Truly terrible people and terrible experience. Even made coffee tastes worse than what it was. read more

Busy spot in the heart of the Big Bear Village. While on a weekend trip to Big Bear we stopped by for coffee with our friends. They have a good selection of baked goods including croissants and muffins. They make crepes, sandwiches and more. I ordered a cold brew with milk which was watery and didn't taste much like coffee. My husband liked his black coffee. Customer service was ok, lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. read more

I just love Big Bear ! It is such a quaint little town and little findings. We came to this Cafe to charge our Tesla outside as well as get some breakfast. The menu is good ! I loved my turkey, egg and cheese on a croissant and my daughter loved her cupcake. The girls working there were nice and gave some good suggestions of where to go and what to do. We like this big little coffee house! Martin Diedrich once told me Denny's is a coffee shop, while Kean (and those like it, e.g. Bodhi) is coffee house. The Tea is a bone fide coffee house. It's not up there with Kean or Bodhi but we aren't in Orange County. Our barista very knowledgeable about coffee. I asked what they have for brewed, and hearing it was med dark roast, my face contorted in disappointment and rejection of said swill. Waaaay over-roasted to drink by itself, and good only to add to coffee-like beverages with gobs of sugary goo like you get at Charbucks (#gag). My barista seemed to agree. Good for you! I know some people like that kind of coffee but NOT decent Americans like yours truly. Mrs. Yelper and I enjoyed oat milk lattes. Nice way to descend the mountain. read more

I'm hardly ever moved to write a negative review, but I felt I need to offer this warning to would be customers. Stay away. This was close to one of my worst experiences. Oftentimes it is easy to overlook a bad experience if the product is good but the service is poor, or if the product could improve but the service is good. To put both bad service and terrible products together in one business is something I have found rare indeed. The ladies behind the counter started us off by snickering at my daughter for asking if the mocha mix had dairy (it does have dairy). Next her drink came out burnt. My coffee and my wife's came out lukewarm. After waiting 10 minutes for my sandwich, I went up to ask about it. They had not yet started it but told me they were working on it. They actually hadn't started yet. We couldn't take it anymore and had to leave. read more

Shaking your head and scuffing at customers when they ask you a simple question or request is unpleasant. Waited almost 25 minute for a single pastry. 4 customers after us received their orders before us and when I asked to follow up on it, the blonde worker made little remarks and was shaking her head. The pastry wasn't heated properly and was cold inside, so bad attitude and not even properly warmed? Tipped her and she made me immediately regret it with such a terrible attitude. HARD PASS ON THIS PLACE! Side note: behind the counter looks dirty and unpleasant to see when you go to grab your drink. Visible trash on the floor, dirty napkins and unwiped dirty counters. Management needs to address several issues, starting with their workers with bad attitudes. read more

I was recommended by a friend to check this spot out while staying in Big Bear. Online it says they open at 7AM and since I'm an early riser, I arrived at 7:10AM to get my coffee and they still weren't open. They ended up being around 20 minutes late. I got my coffee and ordered a crepe to have later in the day. The crepe is HUGE and delicious. Absolutely worth the price. Interior was clean and organized and had some good music playing. Only real complaint is their parking lot is mostly Tesla charging stations so regular parking is extremely limited. I'd go back for a coffee & crepe again. read more

The only positive thing is theTesla charger out front. I came in expecting a quick service for single drinks. There are 2-3 incompetent teens working with no management on site. Employees are talking about their weekend parties. Cussing & yelling loudly to each other. Saying they won't help each other because they're not "clocked in yet" Standing around and not working. ( also because no customers to serve ) Young friend/boyfriends of cashiers hanging out in the cafe talking and hanging out cashiers. I was wondering why this place had bad reviews and no customers. Visiting Big Bear and trying to find a place that sells bagel sandwiches or small sandwiches, and that you don't have to sit down like a traditional restaurant and stumbled across the Tea & Coffee Exchange. Parking lot was a little crowded due to the number of businesses in this little lot, plus there is a Tesla charging station. Conveniently located where the main roads intersect, easy to find. Staff was friendly, and delivered my to go order about 8 minutes before promised so that was nice. Lots of drink options, dessert options, and a few sandwich options. Drove in from Las Vegas in a Tesla, the charger being right in the parking lot of this multi business complex, I was attracted by this cute Tea & Coffee place. Guilty, I was drawn due to needing to use the restroom but was greeted very politely & kindly given the code to use the restroom (Very Clean, Toilet paper, Disposable Paper Towels Full & Soap) and as a thank you and necessity of applying to their "restroom for customers" sign... I bought one of their pastries: Crème Brûlée Bar. This delicious dessert was like Mr. NY Cheesecake married Ms. Crème Brûlée and had a baby. If you are looking for a delicious pastry or dessert... As a Bear Valley local, this is my favorite stop in town. Beautiful, clean, cozy inside, excellent customer service, and the absolute BEST panini on the planet! Loose leaf teas are deliciously aromatic, coffees/espressos are made fresh. Pastries made in house. I love it all and highly recommend this shop! I discovered this place because it shares a parking lot with the Tesla Supercharger station, so everyone coming up the hill who needs a charge between 7am and 7pm, grab a snack and help yourself to the restroom. read more
