There are patio tables with umbrellas out in the deck along with seating inside the coffee shop. I ordered an avocado toast for $5 which came with plenty of avocado on top of a slice of sour dough bread ($5). Very reasonable in pricing and it was simple but yummy. Stopped by higher grounds before heading back home and I'm so glad we did! Coffee, cocoa and breakfast was all so good! I ordered their Merry Matcha & my daughter had their peppermint cocoa and we were both so happy with our choices! (Not pictured was our breakfast because we were starving!) but I had their everything bagel with cream cheese, hubby and kiddos had their breakfast sandwiches and everything was delicious! Love that they do a build your own sandwich, which is what we did since our kiddos are carnivores and need all meat! Breakfast for the 4 of us was around $65 but would much rather support small local businesses than your big chains! Will definitely stop by again when we're in Crestline! read more

This seems to have the best review and it was pretty close to Work cabin. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable, they can make a simple cup of coffee taste gourmet. They have limited seating inside but I managed to get there around 12pm Sunday and it wasn't packed yet. There's more seating outside in a patio area with tables and umbrellas. Came here twice during a recent short stay in Crestline. Customer service was excellent. I had the iced chai latte twice, very good. We came for breakfast the second time and I had the tomato / onion on everything bagel - simple and tasty, perfect morning small bite. There's a bunch of tables outdoors and few smaller tables inside. My partner and I were able to chill and play games both times. Higher Grounds is the perfect place to go if you're down the hill in the San Bernardino area and need a quick small town mountain fix. The drive up is usually pretty quick at about half an hour or under, and completely worth it because the difference between up the hill and down is night and day. The nature, the small town vibes, the cooler temperatures. Heavenly. The shop itself is also wonderful to visit. There are a few parking spaces out front, which is appreciated. Inside of the shop is incredibly small with very limited seating, so if you're looking for a coffee shop to set up camp in and work at your laptop, be prepared to sit outside on the patio area (which is lovely and has some additional seating). The coffee and food are all delicious. I usually just get a black coffee and it's smooth, not bitter, and fairly priced. My kids often get the pastry items. The giant chocolate chip cookies are always a hit. This place will often have little things on sale from local vendors, too. Art, candles, that sort of thing. The selection is small because the shop itself is small, but they do the best they can with the space they have. The staff has always been warm and welcoming. There wasn't any specialty coffee appealing to me so I just went with an iced coffee with oat milk and for being so simple it was very delicious! You can just tell the coffee is high quality and made right, which I appreciate. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk and she told me it didn't have sweetener so we decided to add a little bit of vanilla syrup- but wow, that was all you could taste. The drink wasn't very iced either, so I unfortunately had no choice but to just throw it out. I also ordered their vegan avocado oil brownie, they were okay 6/10- tasted pretty flourly and I couldn't eat that either. Cute cafe with a spacious outdoor patio. Patio area is next to the Main Street with nice views of the mountains and trees. I felt like my coffee was relatively standard, I got an americano. But while I was walking out, I heard another customer complain that the barista filled his coffee cup with hot water because they ran out of coffee. My friend also noticed that they used the same rag to wipe the counter and the milk frother... I'm glad I only got an americano. Otherwise service was good and relatively quick for our large party. I HAD to try their Gingerbread Latte, but quickly regretted it. They use Torani syrups here, which are great, including the gingerbread flavor. No inside dining - there is a small table with beautiful hand crafted items (rings, earrings, key chains, etc) for sale. The outdoor patio is quite nice with many tables. The ham and cheese pastry was nice and the soup of the day (cream of broccoli) was okay.
