I never been to Ireland, but I have been to The Three Stags Irish Pub & Restaurant. First time I came here I sat at the bar and met an Irish man. Yes a legit Irishmen from Ireland, specifically Belfast. He told me this is the only bar you'll get a proper Guinness pour. He was right, it did taste better than any other Guinness I've had at other bars. lol Haven't tried their food, other than the fries (chips) and those were pretty damn good. Wife and I were excited to try this place menu and location looked awesome (still does). We got there at around 6:15. It wasn't super busy at all, but there was no seating in the front, bartender working told us it was open seating... we went to the back and sat at a high top and after sitting there for 20 minutes with no greeting we got up and left. Multiple waitresses walked by us but they were conversing and singing and paced right by us. Even the bartender watched us leave and said nothing. I am usually pretty laid back when it comes to service, I get that hospitality is pretty wild sometimes but we felt so unwanted to be there and to be looked at by staff and unattended did me in. I will say the ambience is really nice in there and I'm sure the food is good. I just will never know. read more

This place looks fantastic from the outside and inside. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with great music playing and live bands. It feels like the kind of spot that should deliver an amazing dining experience. Unfortunately, the food was just average. Several dishes were overcooked and dry. The Scotch eggs were crumbly and overdone, and the dipping sauce tasted like paprika mixed into Miracle Whip. The fish and chips were dry and lacked flavor. The shepherd's pie reminded me of Manwich topped with mashed potatoes rather than a rich, savory filling. It came with seasonal veggies which was asparagus and they were so overcooked and sadly limp. The Philly cheesesteak was also pretty plain and forgettable. The drinks were good, although it's hard to go wrong with beer. We also ordered the sourdough bread, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the atmosphere is definitely the star here. As you walk in you'll find wood throughout this shotgun style interior. It's a Pub so kind of loud inside and somewhat warm. We sat ourselves at an open table and were quickly greeted. Service was outstanding with recommendations being on point (great job Megan). The Cheapshot cocktail was really good and worth a shot (pun intended). The old fashion was good but nothing to write home about as was the Margarita. The Spice Bag was very flavorful as was the burger. Both are recommended to try. They charged .50 for a side of Ranch Dressing which isn't cool but they don't charge a service fee for using your credit card which is appreciated. So the charge for the ranch was canceled out with the lack of charge for the use of the card. Overall a great experience and worth 5 stars. read more

Walked in on a Saturday night around 11 pm and it was fairly busy. We sat ourselves in a big booth in the back and our waitress, Meg, served us immediately. She was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was decently good. The spice bag was delicious but the curry sauce was ok, a little grainy and cold. My family and I decided to try out this Irish pub after a day of apple picking in Oak Glen. We parked in the big lot on Stuart Ave. and walked over--it was very close by and easy to find. We arrived a few minutes before their dinner service started, and were able to order pretty quickly. I ordered the shepherd's pie, which was decent. It had some ground beef and veggies (I think real shepherd's pie has lamb? Not sure though) with the day's veggies, which happened to be Brussels sprouts. It was definitely pretty rich, and I didn't finish all of the meat filling (mashed potatoes on top were great though). My mom and husband both ordered the beef stout stew. They found it to be very rich, and the meat was very tender. Thicker than they had expected (they were expecting it to be soupier, but to be fair, we don't know much about Irish food). The inside has a great pub feel, with dark wood and brick lining the walls, with plenty of logos, photos, memorabilia and such on the walls. The string lights and windows balance out the darker shades to make the space feel cozy-comfortable. It's such a great vibe! There's plenty of high top seating, along with bench & stool seating with round tables, even a couple snugs for groups. Our server was friendly, informative, and gave attentive service. My mom ordered the fish and chips and I the shepherd's pie. Her fish was crispy and fresh, while my pie was hearty and rich. The minced meat was in a tomato based sauce, with plenty of flavor. The mash on top had crispy bits of garlicky goodness, and the little squashes were cooked perfectly. Stopped by The Three Stags in downtown Redlands to cool off and have a couple drinks at the bar, and this place did not disappoint. It was blistering hot outside, but inside it was nice and cool with great music and a really good atmosphere. From what I could see, they have a traditional Irish pub setup with authentic Irish beers on draft, which is something you don't see very often out here in the Inland Empire. Stopped in on our way up to Big Bear Lake and so glad we did! I had the shepherds pie and hubby had the bangers and mash. Both very good! Of course I ordered my favorite Irish beer Smithwicks. We also stopped in our way back and we were there during brunch. Hubby ordered the full Irish breakfast and I had the half Irish breakfast. Found out I do like blood sausage. Delicious Irish food! Came here during the St. Paddy's weekend of celebration. Husband and I love to celebrate it since it's both of our half birthdays lol! He's German but could be Irish....lmao. We didn't know they only served the corned beef and cabbage after 2:30 pm on the weekend. But came back on actual St Paddy's day on Monday for corned beef being served all day starting at 9 am. I think it would've been better if they served it all weekend leading up to Monday..... Anyway, food tasted great! Only gripes were, we waited about 45 mins to an hour by the time we sat down, ordered and waited for the food to come out. Also, it gets super packed. Not much seating. Wish they had more seats and tables outside but it's mostly ledges for drinking. Cute interior and decorations. Very Irish pub themed. They only had brunch offerings on Sunday 12 pm. We got the Full Irish breakfast and Boxy benedict. Delicious eggs, sausages, rashers (Irish bacon), and the hollandaise sauce was perfection. I don't normally care for breakfast potatoes but man were these good! Even better was the Irish creme chocolate cheesecake! I'm normally lactose intolerant. But this didn't upset the tums! It was decadent but not overly sweet. Perfect and not your normal cheesecake, it was more mousse-like, different and yum! The next day ordered the corned beef and cabbage slaw SANDWICH and the special Banger corn dog. OMG so so good! Too bad they only served these items on St Paddys Monday I believe. This was the perfect Irish night: cool and drizzly. So it was off to Three Stags ...... We arrived about 5:30 ish on a weekday night and we had our choice of tables. Staff was very helpful and efficient. There was a single musician playing, but from our seats he wasn't too loud - he seemed to be a favorite with the patrons. Of course, we started with a draft Guinness (see pic, the malt vinegar was for another island favorite). The dark roastiness hit the spot on this cool/drizzly evening. We do like a hearty salad, and the Farro and Summer Squash salad hit the spot. When you take a look at my pic, you'll see all the items in the salad. This gave it chew, texture and flavor. The side of dressing was lemony, but not too tart or over-powering: it added freshness. We shared their cod Fish and Chips. As you can see pictured, are the 3 pieces of deep fried fish. This has a light tempura type batter: the batter still soaked up the amply applied malt vinegar. The fish was still light and flaky, not oily. The 3 pieces were filling enough. The french fries were crunchy but fairly standard. We also shared the Dublin Coddle Soup, see my pic. The featured single sausage was pretty good: meaty, fennel flavored and retained the nicely caramelized flavor from being seared (again see my pic). The root veggies were still firm. Walked in, tried ordering a drink and giving my card and asked the bartender "hey, will this card get charged?" And he responded with "you're too drunk", so respectfully they should've let us know the situation before treating us with disrespect. In front of customers and very unprofessional. I had a blast here! Was in town for a job interview and wanted some dinner. Got some delicious Guinness stew. It was so tasty and super filling. I did ask if they had any sparkling wine since it wasn't in the menu, but they did in fact have it and it was great! I don't love beer, so was super happy they had that as an option. What was super fun was that it was a Monday and apparently there's trivia AND karaoke on mondays! I ended up staying for both since I was flying out in the morning and it was so much fun. Did wish there was a better order in sign up for karaoke, but that's more the third party's issue. I sat at the bar the whole night drinking sparkling wine and it was such a great time. The bartenders were super nice. And I met two awesome people sitting at the bar to chat with for the night - and I don't love chatting with people most times lol so that's saying something. Best restaurant pub in Redlands! The fish and chips is absolutely delicious and they have super fun seasonal specials. They also have daily specials and a great happy hour 11-5 on weekdays. They are always clean and I've always been welcomed when walking in. Nice music and a great spot to chill- lots of seating and also room to go outside on a nice day. Nice location near the train station so you really can enjoy some drinks then just take the train home. The Irish nachos are a perfect sharing dish and I'd take a pic but they were gone quickly. This place is amazing! I have gone twice and both times, the staff delivered. The service: absolute sweethearts. They really listen to you, throughly answer any questions you may have, check in frequently, and they do it all with a smile. Bravo! The food: phenomenal. The first time I went, I got the bangers and mash. The sausages were mild (sort of like a bratwurst) and paired so well with the mashed potatoes and gravy. A perfect dish to fortify you on a cold night! The second time I went I was craving something from the deep fryer, so I went with the spice bag on my server's recommendation. She explained that it was a popular takeaway item after a night spent hitting the pubs. While my bar hopping days are far behind me, I could see how this dish would be a balm to a drunken soul. My only wish for this dish would be for the chicken strips to be cut into pieces rather than left whole, but that is only so I could shovel this delicious concoction of seasoned fries, fried chicken, peppers, onions, and curry gravy into my hungry maw more efficiently. My companions enjoyed their Irish stew, my husband (who can be particular about his food) loved his fried chicken sandwich, and our son had fun eating the cheese out of his grilled cheese sandwich (but that's a 2 year old for you). The drinks: top notch. They feature a wide selection of imported beers and their cocktails are delicious. I have sampled the Tokyo Clover, the Cheap Shot, and the High King. All delicious. The second time I went I was recovering from a migraine, so alcohol was off the table. My server recommended some mocktails and I ended up going with a ginger one. It was so refreshing and exactly what I needed to perk me up after a day of not feeling well. The ambiance: comforting. The place is decorated with antiques, old books, and a few pub themed items. We had a private booth that we were lucky enough to snag, and we checked out the room upstairs as well. The light is low and the space feels both bustling and intimate at the same time. This was the first and only bar I went to that Friday, and because of this experience I'll be avoiding the downtown Redlands pub area altogether. A person claiming to be staff became upset and had me kicked out after my friend (who was already in the restroom) opened the door so we could both use it, since it had both a urinal and a toilet. As I tried to enter, the staff member became irate and physically tried to stop the door from closing. I calmly asked them to step back and stop holding the door, but the situation escalated. The bouncer then berated me across a crowded bar and removed me and my entire group without allowing me to explain. It felt unprofessional, embarrassing, and unnecessarily aggressive. The next day, I spoke with someone from "management," who was defensive and suggested I was probably intoxicated -- despite the fact that this was the first place I went that night and I was kicked out before I could even order anything. Very disappointing experience. Update: Nick, I'm going to respond to this publicly since you chose to characterize the situation this way. First, I was not intoxicated. This was the first establishment I entered that evening, and I was removed before I was even able to order a drink. Suggesting I was "too inebriated to recall" events is simply inaccurate. Second, I did not invent the restroom layout. My friend was already inside and opened the door because he asked for assistance. When I attempted to enter, your staff member physically tried to prevent the door from closing and escalated the situation immediately. That interaction is what created tension -- not aggression on my part. I did not "cut in line" in the way you're describing. I was responding to my friend. If there was confusion, it could have been resolved with a calm conversation rather than confrontation and public removal. Additionally, being screamed at across the bar by security was unnecessary and embarrassing. At no point did I threaten anyone. Being assertive in defending myself after being accused and physically blocked is not the same as being aggressive. You mention reviewing footage. If that is the case, I would encourage you to review not just the moments after your staff member became upset, but the full interaction from the beginning -- including her attempt to stop the door and the tone used before security intervened. I respect that businesses have a duty of care. I also believe customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and not publicly accused of obscenity or intoxication without basis. Tried Three Stags Pub in Redlands for the first time when our group was supposed to meet at the Redlands Public Market. When we arrived, there wasn't really anyone inside, and it just felt a bit awkward to stay -- so we decided to pivot and head over to Three Stags instead. I'm glad we did! They had a live band playing when we walked in, and the vibe was great -- classic pub atmosphere with maybe 15-20 people there, just the right amount of energy. The service was friendly and quick, and the beer was cold and affordable. My only small critique is that I wish the food menu had a few more interesting or appealing options, but overall it was a really good experience. When it arrived it looked like a ramekin of beans and a brown paper bag. I wasn't quite sure what I was getting. So I tore the bag open to find spiced fried chicken and chips (fries). The side was curry and was there for dipping. First bite I was hooked. It was fantastic. I quickly downed all the chicken while continuing the chat with the gentleman next to me. I didn't realize I had taken the last bite and was slightly disappointed I didn't savor the final one. But the fries were next level good as well and there were simply too many to finish. Service was on point, friendly, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was fitting, clean and approachable. We sat at the bar and settled in for drinks and dinner. We each had the Pot o' Gold, I had a Creme de Mint (I forget the name, but it reminded me of an Andes Chocolate Mint candy if it was a drink), Guinness, Harp, and I had a shot of Bushmills. For food, he had the corned beef and cabbage and I had fish and chips. All were delicious. We want to come back for a traditional Irish breakfast. The place is very charmingly decorated, appropriate for an Irish pub, there are cozy booths which we hope to sit in next time. Service was good, well staffed.
