We just celebrated our 59th anniversary at the Tides. Every year we try to think of someplace different but in reality, nothing in the area can compete with the food, ambience or pleasantness of everyone involved. We went for anniversary, 1st time.. really cute place, they have a nice patio. They seated us right away and we had a nice table in the back room, AC was perfect. Great 1st impression! Our server Robert was pretty incredible. They had maybe 10 app specials and close to the same amt of entrees. Starters I had the corn, coconut soup with just the right amt of chili oil and citrus, so creamy and tasty, not overly rich. They serve a bread basket with the most perfect corn muffins and warm bread that had a bit of salt on it, all really good with the butter. I had the Blanc de blanc split that was good, coulda been colder tho. Husb had the ceasar which was delish!! Crunchy crisp bacon and he added anchovies. I had halibut special with curried red lentils & carrot also broccolini; fish topped with curly crisp threads of sweet potato. Very delicious plate, all was seasoned just right. Husb had a menu item, potato crusted grouper, came with the most delicious mashed potatoes and green beans in the most delicate ber blanc. He said the potato crust was shredded potatoes that were crisp. I also had a glass of suncere..yumm. Dessert, we had to do it lol, soft, chocolatey brownie with vanilla ice cream, a perfect ending. We were so full it was crazy, we did enjoy every bite! Great place, loved it and Robert made sure all was perfect. Can't wait to come again! If I had to pick at anything, it'd be hard maybe the ceiling tiles in the dining room need replacing they didn't match the casual elegance of everything else. Great food, great place! read more

If you're looking for a fabulous restaurant for a special occasion or just a night out this is the place. My husband and I try to get down to Vero Beach each October for my birthday to go to this wonderful restaurant. Let me just brag about the dinner we had last evening. We started with the pear salad which was delicious and plenty enough to share. I had the salmon and my husband had the swordfish. I can tell you it was no ordinary salmon or swordfish it was with special sauces and presented so beautifully. Scott was our server, he had waited on us before. The service is impeccable. He made our night so special. After dinner, the owner Claudia came to each table to chat. She is so warm and friendly that is the difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant. The ambiance in this restaurant is so warm and friendly. It is the perfect restaurant for a special occasion or just a night out. No night is complete without dessert. Scott brought us a brownie cake with a candle. He even sang Happy Birthday. I have to say that made my night. So in conclusion, if you're in the Vero Beach area make The Tides your first stop. My husband had Veal Scallapenni and I had the potato crusted grouper with crab. Absolutely one of the best meals here in Florida in quite sometime. Second time here, I'm an out of towner. Every plate is delicious, lobster soup is tasty with real chunks. Service was top notch, manager came around often. Romantic setting, they need to work on the outdoor fans/mosquitoes, other than that, very nice. read more

I've eaten at Tides before and have had better experiences. They were pretty crowded and seated us outside in an area that I call the Annex, off to the right of the bar. Our waiter was very nice but it took about 1/2 hour for our drinks to come and even longer for bread. I had the pear salad which was good but could've had a little more dressing, nevertheless it was light. We shared the portobello mushroom and the pork chops were the best part of the meal. I've never had pork so juicy and well prepared on a bed of creamy grits. We seemed pretty far away from the kitchen which may be the reason for the delay. I'll try Tides again during a less busy time. read more

What more can I say about this place? We have Scott as a waiter and he was AMAZING. My wife and I celebrated our 9th year anniversary. Read the reviews online before attempting the place. Couldn't say more about the amazing in and around ambiance. The food was great I had the fillet mignon and my wife had the Herb Crusted Chicken Saltimbocca. This is one of the best dining experiences you can have in Vero Beach. The food is excellent, the atmosphere upscale yet casual, and the service outstanding. A word about that first. Kenny was our server. He is professional grade--been practicing his craft over a decade and has it perfected. He knows the menu, makes appropriate recommendations, and guarantees everyone's satisfaction. He is the quintessential Chef's representative in the dining room. This is what a server should be. We started dinner with two soups--lobster bisque and curry chicken corn chowder. Both were delicious. The lobster bisque had an ample number of small lobster pieces. The chowder was loaded with delicious pieces of chicken and corn and had a great curry flavor that broadened the chowder. My entree was the sushi grade tuna with basmati rice, scallop and seaweed salad. It was a terrific combination of flavors and the quality of each morsel was A1. I also enjoyed a bite of the potato crusted grouper with lump crab meat. It was excellent. We just had the most unique experience of our dinning out career! We are big foodies and vacations are all about the restaurants. Last year, we happened to walk past this place. It has such a romantic/elegant look that I fell in love at first sight. We decided to make reservations. It was such a memorable meal that we looked forward to being back all year long. Finally got a reservation! It was well worth the wait. Great outside area. We did eat inside. It reminded me of a place my dad and I would go to in little Italy. The service was excellent. The menu had a nice variety of dishes. The list of specials was very long and all sounded so good. I had the Veal scaloppini, unbelievably delicious. Cooked perfectly. The side of broccoli was really good . Served over tagliatelle. My friend had the Tuna with broccoli and when I tell you there was nothing left on her plate! The good - nice ambiance, pleasant wait staff, good drinks. The bad - the food. In our party, we tried the chicken, the salmon, and the filet mignon. Everything we tried tasted like it came from a food service vendor... the chicken was tough and had an overwhelming taste of bacon. The salmon was admittedly farm-raised and all fat with some gooey sweet glaze, and the filet mignon had 0 taste and was on the tougher side (how is even possible?). I really nicely asked if she could move us to another table because this was a special occasion. I said we didn't mind waiting but she snapped back at me. She continued to be very rude and it took me aback. We were tempted to leave but we'd been looking forward to this night. We felt uncomfortable the whole evening.
