This restaurant is a true hidden gem in downtown Elkhart. From eclectic wall decor to very attentive service and surprisingly extensive drink menu, this restaurant is most definitely the best brunch spot in our whole area. Drinks and food are all beautifully presented. Food is beyond delicious - visited this restaurant several times and enjoyed every dish that I tried. Some of the standouts are crab cake benedict, breakfast burrito, chicken and waffles and, of course, their house made biscuits. All are full of flavor and everything tastes amazingly fresh and wholesome. Owner chef personally made and delivered my drink and made sure I liked it. Getting your food may take a little bit during peak hours but well worth the wait. This is a review of the newly opened Goshen location. The restaurant was decorated nicely and the wait staff did a good job but not great. Our second waiter, not sure what happened to the first, was friendly but kinda hands-off. The place was busy but it's not that big so not sure why he wasn't more attentive. The food was just OK. Nothing I'm rushing back for but I will go again to try something different. Portions were not small but certainly not large and it is put on a plate that is a bit too small to even have a place to rest your knife. I'm sure that is to make it look like you're getting more food than you really are. The "tater tots" were good as was the hash brown casserole my wife got. But this did not sit right with me, we both got the Hillbilly Benny. My wife got it with bacon gravy while I got the hollandaise. Mine was $2 more than her's because apparently there is an undisclosed up-charge for hollandaise. I checked on my way out against a menu and sure enough, nothing. I asked the hostess about it and all I got was a "Yeah, that's for the hollandaise" reply like we didn't notice. No "I'm sorry, sir, but it is disclosed in the menu." or a "I apologize, your waiter should have told you." $2 is not a big deal but it may have changed my order had I known that seeing as the prices are on the high side especially for a breakfast. As I said, I plan to go back and try something else but based on this first experience, the only real reason to go back is for the option of a breakfast cocktail. read more

Last time I ordered Citrus Ricotta Pancakes and I didn't care for them. The pancakes were hard, chewy and cold. Maybe that's how they're supposed to be - either way, I won't be ordering these again. My wife met some GFs for early brunch so I asked her to bring me back their hash and pouched eggs. The meat was super salty and the potatoes were so hard they were hard to chew and swallow. The pouched eggs were a little well done (hard not pouched). My wife brought home her left over crab cakes with pouched eggs and holindaise sauce on English muffins. Those were kind of lame with so little crab taste mostly filler. The pouched eggs were the best part of the dish. My opinion is some people rave about this place this is not my opinion. Where to begin. We have considered trying this spot for a while, and finally decided to do it today. Our wait time was estimated to be 30 minutes, but was closer to an hour. Whatever, it happens. We get sat at a table with other people, so that was awkward. Our son ordered a strawberry milk, he enjoyed the flavor but not the unchilled temperature. Room temperature milk is very off-putting. My husband and I each ordered coffee and it was decent, not bitter or sour, and quite smooth...lacking any real flavor, though. When our food arrived we all were taken aback by the small portions. I had ordered Belgian waffles, which tasted like overly sweet biscuit mix that had been overmixed and fried. Not good. They had wilted strawberry slices on them and came with synthetic syrup, which I did not use. I also ordered a side of tatertots....they were AWFUL. Seriously. 4 burned little pods of potatoes that left my mouth tasting like it was coated in old oil. I could only stomach 2 and left the rest...same with the waffles. As tiny as they were, I only ate one. My son, who usually LOVES eggs Benedict didn't even finish half of his food. Whatever sauce they poured on was NOT hollandaise. My husband ordered the same thing and was equally disappointed. Couple the bad food with the nonexistent waitstaff (noone even checked to see if we liked our food the whole time we were there), and the filthy fans blowing dust down on diners....and it wasn't difficult to make the decision that this first experience would also be our last. When we finally flagged a waitress down to request our check, and let her know how much we didn't like the food, we were met with a simple, "Our menu is usually really popular. I'm sorry.", which was kind but there was no offer to even try and rectify the situation or compensate the bad experience. I honestly have no idea how this place has such high reviews, the power of suggestion, perhaps, or people who have never had a truly good breakfast dining experience, maybe. I wish them well, but we will either head out to Metro Diner or the Curve Cafe for way better food at prices that are not bloated. Best pancakes in town. But they do much more than that. Had protein omelette today and the quality of protein is very good. Benedict is very good and western omelette is outstanding. (They know to sauté veggies first). Coffee is never bitter and always hot like their food when you receive it. Service is extremely good and friendly too. Adorable little restaurant right in downtown Elkhart. Went here with my friend yesterday and YUMMY. They have a waitlist on weekends and you have to call to join it; otherwise, you will be waiting over an hour for a table. It is a very quaint little place with amazing wait staff. We sat at the bar and we could tell that the staff all worked together. We didn't have just one person serving us and refilling our drinks. Their teamwork was very obvious and very refreshing. After browsing the menu and realizing that I couldn't order anything on the menu, I finally decided to order a half order of biscuits and gravy and get a side of yogurt and granola. My friend ordered yogurt and the crab benedict. My half order was only one biscuit but it was SUPER filling. The biscuit is super fluffy and soft and the gravy is savory and salty. It was the perfect balance for my yogurt, which was topped with fresh berries, granola and honey. I will never eat yogurt without honey now! My friend started eating her food and realized that she got the wrong benedict. When she told the wait staff, they were quick to fix their mistake. I ate here for the first time today. The pancakes were delicious. The ends were a tiny bit crispy, they were a perfect texture, the flavor had a bit of butter and sweet, and they melted in my mouth. The strawberries and blueberries were a great compliment. The chorizo and jalapeno skillet did not have jalapeno's in it, which was great because I planned on picking them out. The potatoes were good. The chorizo was cooked well. Overall it was good but could have used some salsa to pull all of the flavors together. It did not come with salsa, and I did not ask for any. I also ordered the green bloody mary, made with tomatillos. I love tomatillos and bloody maries, so I was very excited to try this drink. I have mixed reviews on it. There were fresh herbs in it. This was delightful as their aroma would hit my nose just as I took a drink. They did not strain the seeds from the tomatillos so it had the consistency of a salsa (from a real Mexican restaurant). Additionally, it actually just tasted like salsa. It was like drinking salsa from a straw. What disappointed me, even more, was that I left the nearly full drink at the edge of my table after 4-sips (trying to like it). The server did not ask if I liked it, nor ask why the nearly-full (over 3/4 full) cup was sitting untouched. The customer service was disappointing. Overall, it was clean and the staff was friendly. I actually liked the server although I was disappointed in the drink and the lack of attentiveness regarding the drink. Everything else about the service was good. The food was good. Open since January and rocking it! Small in size (12 tables/approx 8 in use during covid). We had about a 20 minute wait on a Sunday morning. The decor is quirky and pleasing. Think 1950's kitchen. The service was spot on. Our drinks were never empty. Coffee is a local roaster and delicious. We had the guacamole toast, the biscuit and gravy platter, and the banana bread French toast, and the ginger thyme infused pear mimosa. Not one single bite or sip disappointed. Decent food (and the biscuit does live up to their promise!). It's a very small establishment (11 tables and a small counter bar) and not much room (any) to wait for a table (especially in the cold weather). They also seemed a bit understaffed (but the waitress was clearly trying--but bussing your own tables, doing the hostess duty of the waitlist, and being one of maybe two servers is a bit thin). They were very nice (and even offered to bring our toddler's food early so we could feed her before feeding ourselves--seriously, I wish every restaurant did that!). Their tater tots are amazing (almost a tater tot hush puppy hybrid!). Their gravy was a bit heavy on the pepper (my husband was a fan, me not so much, though it was edible, I wouldn't order the bng again, but I'd gladly try something else with their biscuits).
