We came in the afternoon before the live music unfortunately so we didn't get to experience it, but we did experience the food which was really good!! We started with a couple of Dallas Blondes, a Blueberry Lemonade and a Mule. Starters were the Smoked Brisket Fries which had a smokey and cheesy yummyness and Spicy Pickle fries were thin and crispy, delish! I and my daughter in law got the Tipsy Burger cooked perfectly, my wife got the California Club sandwich and my daughter got the Chicken Ciabatta sandwich soft ciabatta buns! You had me at fried pickles! This off the beaten path spot has a great beer/wine/liquor selection, I opted for a local IPA. After I devoured the fried pickles, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was yum but I was stuffed so ended up taking 1/2+ home. Parking wasn't great, but worth looking, service was fantastic. We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was not a positive dining experiences. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed completely uninterested in being even remotely welcoming. No greeting, no smile--just a cold stare and a long wait before anyone acknowledged us. At no point did anyone make us feel welcome. It was clear they didn't want families there. First time here and we really liked it. DH had fish and chips. He liked the battered and freshly fried fish and did like the french fries, although he said the fries would have been better if they had been warm. I had two fried fish tacos and was pleased that they have malt vinegar - one of my requirements for fried cod. They were excellent and I liked the fact that you could order two or three tacos. I had two and they were huge and very filling. We also ordered the chips and queso. Chips were good and the queso was OK. I can't comment on the food because no one ever came to my table to get my order. Service was abysmal though. Sat there for a good 15-20 minutes, multiple waiters walked past my table numerous times. My friends and I ate brunch at the Tipsy Oak since it was a dog friendly restaurant! The waitress was super kind and even gave us a water bowl for my friend's dog. Our service from start to finish was fantastic. However, the food was decent but not quite 5-star level. Starting on a positive note, my favorite was the fried pickles! The portion was bigger than I was expecting. They were crispy, and even so the next day as leftovers. The jalapeño ranch was absolutely banging as well. The fried pickles were on the saltier side, so I could see how some people may not like that. The brisket on the brisket benedict wasn't as smoky or flavorful as some other briskets I've had. I didn't pick up on a particularly strong garlic flavor on the toast. The eggs and hollandaise sauce were quite good though. Long time favorite. Closest to northeast coast subs and grinders in this area. Love their bread, fixings (veggies) and dressings. I always ask to have mine "heated" so the cheeses meld with the meats. The combos are their best bargains. First found them in Arlington in the late 60's, it is amazing they're still with us! Met a friend here for brunch however we came near the end of brunch and sadly they were out of biscuits. What they did offer was $5 mimosas or a whole bottle for $20 and unlike most mimosas, this one didn't taste like cheap champagne drowned in OJ. So after lots of reviewing of the menu I went with California club sandwich and sadly I wish I had pondered a little more and went with something else. The ciabatta was soft and delicious however the Turkey left a lot to be desired. It's thick sliced Turkey that I believe they put on the flat top and whatever seasoning that was on the grill was now in the Turkey. Sadly the Turkey was dry and tough to the point I gave up on the sandwich. The fries (which I asked to be crispy) were on point however and I'd order again. We dropped in to the Tipsy Oak last weekend for a quick bite before a concert at Globe Life. It's my second time to dine here. Neither visit was something to write home about, but it wasn't bad either. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly and got our food and drinks quick as well. Dive-y, and Delicious Decided to come here after the rangers game with my friend for a late night snack/meal. We walked in and sat at a table in front of the bar. There were QR codes and paper menus available to order. Because we were eating late and trying to watch our figures, we mentioned to our server that we are going to be sharing the fried calamari and the chicken ciabatta sandwich. The presentation of the fried calamari wasn't the prettiest, but it was soooo tender and delicious. The sweet pepper Thai sauce on the bottom of the calamari was sweet and had a nice kick to it. When they brought out the chicken ciabatta sandwich, they split it in half for us on two separate plates with fries and ketchup. The chicken sandwich hit the spot! The ciabatta was crisp on the outside and slightly chewy. The chicken was tender paired with the Gouda and fried bacon...*chef's kiss*. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. Our waitress was super helpful with reviewing the menu and answered all of my questions. Originally, we went there for brunch, but I ended up getting a lunch meal. I got the salmon plate with roasted potatoes and asparagus.The salmon and the asparagus were cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed the chili sauce on salmon. The roasted potatoes tasted like the potatoes had been out for awhile and that they had just put garlic on top of them. I do like garlic so that was good but they were dry. But the mimosa made up for it, when I 1st looked at my drink, it looked like it was just orange juice. But I have to tell you that the mix between orange juice and champagne were perfect. I am beyond disgusted by my experience at The Tipsy Oak. While I was visiting from out of town, I noticed what looked like sangria pitchers just sitting uncovered on a ledge for over an hour. Then, halfway through my drink, I found a roach in it. I was vigilant with my glass, so I know it didn't just crawl in later. I reported it immediately to the manager, who confirmed the roach but then lied about the sangria being made in a machine. The manager offered to take the drinks off and discount the food. I told him after drinking a roach, I'd be damned I'd I paid a penny to their establishment. The manager ended up crediting the bill which only included 3 apps and 3 drinks. Today, I called the health department, and they did inspect the sangria machine--they said it was there. Still, the entire situation left me shaken. I keep having flashbacks of seeing that roach in my drink. The food may have been good, but the lack of honesty, care, and basic hygiene precautions makes this place a complete no-go for me. I was in the Dallas area this week and ran into this not so hidden gem near the AT&T stadium in Arlington. The place had such a chill vibe and had a decent selection of beverages and good food. Service was awesome with friendly and attentive staff. The folks I was with were chain restaurant guys and were impressed by the place.
