Met a couple friends for breakfast on a Friday morning. I've heard of The Toasted Yolk but had never tried it. Luckily I saw some great reviews from fellow Yelper's. I was impressed with the inside. Nice interior and very clean. They weren't very busy but it was a weekday morning. Carolina was our server and was awesome! Extremely friendly and always checking on us. Ordered the Cali fresh omelette for a healthy choice. Grits was my side that I picked. I was quite happy with both. Cooked well and had good taste. I would definitely come back here. read more

Awwwww man. Just go!!! You will not leave there hungry. We visited this place because it was close to our hotel and we were not disappointed. The portion size for the price is amazing. As you can see from the picture everything looks delicious. The pancake was as big or not bigger than the plate. I cut it in half and had the other half for breakfast the next day. The grits were okay, coulda used a bit more seasoning, eggs and bacon were nice and hot cooked to perfection. My guy got the omelette and it was pretty big and he smashed it. Zero complaints. I've eaten here a couple of times and it was fine but today was different. Everything we had was delicious. The blueberries on the French toast was perfect. The eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked. The hash browns were decadent. The bacon was cooked through. And don't miss their cheesy grits. Best breakfast in years! And Sandy was great as our server. I'm just going to say this...the shrimp and grits?! You MUST get them. Seasoned perfectly, flavor was on point. Didn't have to season them with salt, pepper, nothing. First time for me. Ambiance is clean and neat, but it doesn't feel warm and inviting. Service was good. I did not like the fact that I cannot get a refill for my tea (another tea bag) - I would have to pay for another tea bag... really?? That is a detail that can really put someone off as it did me. Secondly, I paid for a side of toast, and it tasted bad b/c they just stick it on an oiled grill, which makes it taste terrible and rancid. They don't have a way to toast bread (I asked). Couldn't finish my toast. My veggie omelette was a very good serving (4 eggs). They apologized for the issues I mentioned and offered me another tea bag (ha, ha). It's an ok place, but I don't think I'm interested in returning if that's how they function + the lack of warmth and coziness. read more

The food, coffee, and service were good- standard breakfast. There wasn't much lighting, which was weird? They had small ceiling lights on but were primarily using the daylight from the windows, and it just seemed like they hadn't turned the lights on yet- We felt like we walked into a closed restaurant even though there were people. Booths were large and tidy and service was quick, covered patio too. Biggest complaint was that there was a majorly disruptive customer that the manager did nothing about him. Some dude with his laptop and ipad camped out and working at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Every word on the conference call was loud and echoed through the place, he had his dog tied up outside on the patio barking loud and non-stop (said at one point to the manager "if I need to move him I can". Dude, don't tie your teenage dog out to a pole for hours alone while you sit inside??) , and he had like 4 drinks in the hour that we were there. Every customer was side-eying him. Crappy dog owner, crappy person, made breakfast almost intolerable and nothing was done about it. read more

When I entered the building, I could not help but notice the franchise sticker on the door. I am curious about their franchise philosophy since two nearby locations permanently closed their doors within the past year. Hopefully, this one has much better luck. Sadly, the kitchen failed to make their namesake dish correctly. I ordered the Toasted Yolk and requested the eggs to be over medium. Unfortunately, the egg was cooked over easy. Once I cut open the yolk, it ran completely onto the plate. The toast was drenched in butter, resulting it to be soft rather than firm. I also could not taste the sourdough. Fortunately, both the hash brown casserole and sausage patties came out as expected. I ended up enjoying them for than the Toasted Yolk. The employees at the bar were friendly during the brief moments they chose to speak English. The young staff was primarily chitchatting in Spanish with each other and the customers at the bar. read more

Was in Addison on a business trip and this place was by my hotel. Saw the great Reviews so wanted to check it out. Quite a few choices on the menu, so it was hard to decide. I went with the Toasted Yolk plate. Walking into the restaurant it gives a modern vibe, very clean and bright. The staff was very friendly and engaging. Toasted Yolk plate 5/10 - the interesting thing about the plate was the thick toast with egg cooked to your choice in the center of the toast. I had hash browns and sausage with it. It also comes with a small cup of fruit. Overall, the plate was ok. I'll break each portion down though. Toasted Yolk Toast 8/10 - never had this before and I was pleasantly surprised. The toast was grilled just right, and my over medium eggs in the center were cooked to perfection. The flavor combo was great and the texture of the combination worked. I highly suggest this plate! Hash Browns 2/10 - I'm generally loving hash browns, but not these! I didn't like the texture or the flavor. The consistency was too soft and they were not enjoyable for me at all. Sausage Patties 7/10 - they consisted of 2 large and flavorful patties. Decent quality and recommend if you like sausage. Did seem frozen though? Atmosphere 8/10 - like I stated above, very vibrant and colorful ambience. Service 9/10 - the host was very welcoming and the wait staff were great!! I reviewed this place a few months ago but thought I would do it again. Every time I come here the food is excellent. It's clean, bright and has a friendly staff. This time I tried the eggs and cakes. The bacon came out crispy just like I ordered it and the eggs and pancakes were correct as ordered too. I have been here a few times hoping to be won over. It's just ok. I like their broccoli cheese soup. I'm not happy with their salads, which all say they are "mixed greens," but apparently they're just iceberg lettuce with no other greens in there. I can't digest lettuce, only greens, and I made sure before ordering there wouldn't be lettuce and was told there were greens like a spring mix. Received a crunchy iceberg lettuce salad. I also don't love that they really push alcohol here, especially since I am noticeably pregnant. It also reflects poorly for my teen to see their TV cycling through all their drink specials and messaging "getting toasted" and encouraging having alcohol as something funny and cool. Also annoyed that they serve brisket tacos but do not offer barbecue sauce, because it definitely needs BBQ. Note to self: don't expect good BBQ at a breakfast place, especially when they don't have sauce to save it. Lol. read more

Today was my third visit here and it's definitely my favorite breakfast in Addison at the moment. The first two times i came i ordered the southwest breakfast bowl and it was delicious both times, so the consistency is great! Same with the bloody marys- a little pricey, but absolutely delicious every time! Gloria served us today and was an absolute ray of sunshine. There wasn't an empty seat in the restaurant but every thing was quick, hot and delicious. I believe my server previously was Jeremiah and he was so sweet to us as well. read more

I was out running an errand for work and saw this location and decided that it was my spot to try for the day. I'm glad that I did. I've actually been twice in one week. This is a perfect brunch location. There's lots of variety on the menu. I tried the chicken and waffle special for the month of October. It was not the best I've ever had but it was pretty tasty. Their signature toasted yolk menu item is simply fantastic! The blueberry donuts are pretty great too! The service is wonderful and the pricing is fair. The food is quality and well prepared. It's definitely on my list of new favs in the neighborhood. read more

Service was horrible. Our server seemed rushed and barely came to the table and forgot my husband's drink and he didn't have a drink the whole time we were there. We received one of our dishes with a hair in it and it took almost 20 minutes just to flag someone down to help us with the issue. This place is so good and the service is amazing. Marisela the manager is wonderful and has a great team behind her. I see all of them moving and trying to get customers food asap. The tables are cleaned fast and get people seated. Marisela let us know that the bar was available for us to sit as well. I recommend blueberry donuts and Tang Mimosa. I've never had such an unprofessional experience at a Toasted Yolk before. The manager, Jarret, was rude, dismissive, and acted like he couldn't care less about the customers. When I brought up an issue with our service, instead of helping or even listening, he gave attitude and brushed it off like it wasn't his problem. You'd expect a manager to set the standard for good service, instead he made the whole experience uncomfortable. Definitely won't be coming back to the Addison location as long as he's running the place. read more

Came here for the American Airlines points though I like breakfast places in general and hadn't been here yet. Seated right away on a Saturday morning. Wasn't crowded yet. Sat at the small booth by the door to the kitchen rather than the larger booths by the windows. I was dining alone so fine. Waitress greeted me, gave me the menus, brought my coffee and water quickly. And then she forgot about me. She even admitted it when she finally came out of the kitchen. There was at least one other waitress and only 5, maybe 6 other occupied tables. Is being in that corner booth the same as being in no man's land? Took at least 10 minutes for her to come back, probably longer. A guy came in after I did and received his food before my order was taken...that's how long it took. Ordered the eggs and a cake w grits and ham. The meal was fine. Typical restaurant breakfast combo. The pancake was huge and thick. Maybe too thick. It's was too cakey for my liking though others may like it. Perhaps it's because I'm middle aged but reading the menu with white on a yellow background wasn't easy. I don't use reading glasses and don't have to break out the flashlight in dark restaurants so perhaps I'm not the only one who doesn't like white on yellow. Could barely make it out. This place wasn't perfect and I'll probably stick with Awake or Starwood for my airline points for meals. However, for those complaining about the prices, well, that's what breakfast including a cup of coffee costs even at the chains. If you want a cheap or free breakfast, sneak over to the mid priced hotel chains on Belt Line that offer free breakfast. What are you expecting a restaurant meal to cost exactly? SMH read more

Great service, food, and bright atmosphere! I've been here many times and have not been disappointed once. My go to is the two eggs breakfast deluxe. The bacon can be prepared super crispy, but I prefer it less done and fortunately that is the norm here. Biscuits are good as is the gravy. The hashbrown casserole is my favorite though... think Cracker Barrel got together with Waffle House... you can top it with a bunch of deliciousness, and you should! The Reuben is right up there with one of the best I've had in DFW...Also, if you need a little hair of the dog or a morning pick me up, they are well stocked and ready to provide you with a variety of mimosas, beer, cocktails, or micheladas!
