The food was excellent, facility super clean, Rehab therapists excellent and overall care good. We did have some challenges with my husband's demanding care at first but overtime we worked it our with the caring Director of Nursing Annie and amazing new Executive Director Michael. There were so many positives at Brazo Towers that I recommend it. The care of a stroke patient such as my husband is very difficult and necessitates a very active family advocate all the time. We were very disappointed in the lack of patient activities. Although a vigorous monthly calendar was posted very little activities occurred during my husband's stay. When we were leaving we saw indication regarding possible improvement in that area as well.

Even after that, it seemed the efforts by staff to get her involved and acclimated to her new living arrangements were minimal. Certainly the COVID lockdown made things difficult for senior living facilities, but we paid extra for bathing assistance for mother, and yet when I would see her I could tell she was wearing the same clothes for days in a row, which meant she wasn't bathing and we even sleeping in the same clothes. Mother was on blood thinners, so it was important to monitor her for potential internal bleeding or at least be aware of any pronounced weakness or paleness. Since I couldn't visit her in person, I had to depend on staff for this. In September she had a fall and then was extremely weak and was sent via ambulance to the ER. She had severe internal bleeding and had to have 4 units of blood transfused. I am amazed that the "nursing" staff at Belmont couldn't have observed this issue sooner. Mother passed away in October, and when we went to clear out her belongings, we discovered that all of her valuable jewelry had been stolen from her room. When we reported this to Belmont, they didn't seem to care much, and pretty much blamed it on us that we let Mother have those things in her room. Nothing that was stolen was ever recovered. So if you send your loved one to Belmont, be sure not to send anything of value with them.

As I live and work in Dallas, many of the details had to be taken care of by phone or email. It was a great comfort to know that they were there to help in any way possible. He is doing much better now, and I attribute a part of this to the Belmont staff. It is a great relief to know that he has all of his meals prepared. (He says the food is usually quite good!) He enjoys the company of other residents and occasionally joins in the community activities they provide. He is provided with transportation to any doctor visits, his laundry is done, and his room is the perfect size for him. Living in a different city, all of these things mean the world to me. The few times that there has been a problem, they get in touch immediately There is no business that hasn't experienced challenges in the past couple of years. The Belmont continues to make improvements and changes for the better and that's what counts. I look forward to my next trip to visit him as they treat family members very well!

I find that if there are issues they are addressed and corrected. No place is perfect. But the staff is very warm and caring, the food is very good and there is a variety, the facility is quite clean. There are activities to participate in. When I first came to look it over I was greeted very warmly by Pearlie the sales director. She is a gem and has been a gem ever since. I can't tell you how welcome she made me feel. Maecella the receptionist is also super nice and competent. Hendrick who drives and fixes things is awesome. There are so many nice things this staff has done for me that it would take too long to write it here. Things that I feel are above and beyond. The RAs are also super nice and helpful. Again I can't name them all because there are so many. Then there is the kitchen staff that are awesome too. I notice that the staff always have smiles here so it must be a good place for them to work as well. Now I am looking forward to getting back home soon. The management has less that 4 white people you never see after enrolling and has a yearly transfer or turnover rate. Bedside those few diverse exceptions you might as well be living in Africa. The biggest complaint and super big problem is the mealtime. Every resident you talk to will tell you the dining service and meal preparation is the WORST! The residents orders take as much as 45 minutes to an hour to arrive and the food is perpetually cold or luke warm at best. The staff could care less and is in different to your request for a timely hot meal bc the residents are unable to defend themself and their cause. Residents get brushed off and lied to about meal time.I see many unhappy ppl in the dining area. The kitchen is either understaffed or purposely has severely incompetent and indifferent people in charge of food. Also, every employee has a key to your unit. Anyone can walk in without knocking even after being asked not to do that. Even the residents own door keys opens other residents units. Their transport van by the front entrance has an inspection sticker that's been expired since 2024 and is out of DMV compliance. I've personally brought this to the front desk's attention several times, and it's never addressed and is still expired as of 04/05/26. Also, if your internet, tv or phone goes out the staff will send a handyman maintenance worker to address thise issues.... they do NOT know electronics! So, you end up paying a fee for xfinity to come out and reconnect you to the internet. Most important of all, if you have an emergency, just call 911 yourself. It took 25 minutes before their in house emergency personnel showed up to assess a 90 yo female resident who couldn't breathe. This is a corporation with stock holders who only care if their investment is earning money. This Corp cares about their money and not your loved one's comfort, safety, and quality of life and care or emergency services. The positive things this company does is know your name and smile at you when you walk by. This place doesn't feel "homey" and is a big uncomfortable culture shock.

He told me about the facility and what they can offer to fit my relatives needs individually and as a couple. Michael took us on a tour. The place was calm, nice and clean. It had several activity rooms and the staff was polite. Michael arranged for us to dine with some residents.we met a couple that were together for 42 years and a single woman who decide that this was the right place for her because she just got tired of being alone and didn't want to cook anymore. Everyone seems happy as a resident or an employee. Michael was patience, helpful and informative.
