Atmosphere is nice and good was okay. Service was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and we didn't wait long even when the restaurant was busy. I ordered the crispy brussel sprouts and they were amazing. My main dish was the cheese tortellini which was okay. Temperature was kind of low which made the squash base a bit less appetizing. My son loved their mac and cheese. I wouldn't go there looking for true Italian food but their food is a fun spin off on some classics. read more

Wanted to do something different today and decided to head towards North Canton vice Cleveland or Columbus. So Twisted Olive it was! I must admit I was very surprised at how many tables were filled at ~1330! We ordered adult beverages while checking out the menu. Whiskey Sour for y wife, a Manhattan for me, and a Bloody Mary for Mom. Our waitress was polite and friendly. For our mains we ordered a combination of items. Mom a Brie and Strawberry salad with their French Onion Soup while my wife and I split their Pear and Fig salad & Mediterranean Flatbread and I the calamari. All of our dishes came out perfectly and delicious! I ordered their Christmas Ale. THE waiteress seemed a little confused regarding the size, noting it was 9 ounces. The bottle looked much larger. I read the label and it actually read 1 pint and 9 ounces! Regardless, it was delicious. We also ordered their specialty cheesecake to take back to Mansfield. There seemed to be a long delay for the takeaway. We paid our bill and made our way out. Atnthere little merchandise shop we looked for the Christmas Ale to take home. The lodge itself is stunning, and the views from the main dining room are absolutely beautiful. It seems that they were a bit understaffed during our visit. There were only two waitresses in the dining room and both stayed busy with a large party while we waited for food, water refills, and even the bill. Once our food was delivered we never saw our waitress again. The food was very good (apart from finding a long hair in my chicken sandwich). My friend and I went here last minute during the holidays and were able to sit in the bar area. Usually I don't like eating in the bar, but it was private and quiet enough to still carry on our conversation. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy! Happy hour specials were a great deal and the bartender was kind enough to let us know of the deals so we didn't miss out (we were seated 5 mins before it ended). To drink I ordered the red sangria. It was made with a dry cab, but the fruit juices balanced it perfectly. Not dry, and not too sweet. Plenty of flavor. Now for the food: hot, fresh, and delicious! My friend ordered the calamari which smelled wonderful and was perfectly light and crisp. She also enjoyed her French onion soup! I had the chicken saltimbocca - the prosciutto was criped beautifully while leaving the chicken moist on the inside. I was leary about leeks in the mashed potatoes, but the bartender assured me the taste wasn't overpowering and they didn't change the texture. She was right! To end, we had the molten chocolate cake which was quite decadent. Price points are a bit high, but the ambiance and quality of food supported it. As packed as it was. I really expected to be wowed. There were aspects of the restaurant that were nice it was clean. The greeters were friendly. There were aspects that were good about the food like the soup was good. But when it came time for the Main dish it was inconsistently mediocre. Our drinks were refilled once. And the waiter was non responsive. The person who served our food was great. I am just shocked with the amount of staff. And I felt profiled based on how I was dressed. I know in my heart if I would have dressed nicer. I might have gotten my water filled twice. If you get worse service based on what you wear. I'm in town visiting family, and we needed a place for a birthday dinner. After some intensive Googling and Yelping, I selected The Twisted Olive. My dad, whose birthday we were celebrating, loves wine so I thought this would be of interest. We made a reservation online a few weeks in advance, and I'm glad we did - they were incredibly busy for a Thursday evening! Our server was fantastic. She checked on us regularly and was helpful in navigating dietary restrictions, even bringing my food out separately before everyone else's to avoid cross-contamination. I had the lemon feta dip and could have made a meal of that. It was feta whipped with olive oil and lemon juice, topped with diced cucumbers and tomatoes and sprinkled with Kalamata olives. It was served with crispy pita chips on the side. The portion was substantial and I shared with both my husband and sister-in-law. For dinner, I had the bruschetta chicken. It was a quarter chicken topped with diced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, drizzled in a balsamic glaze. It was cooked well and had a lot of flavor. It was served on top of green beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and when I couldn't possibly finish, I sent it home with my brother. The wine was very good. I had a glass of Lambrusco (sparkling white) and a rose. I didn't try anyone else's food, but everyone was happy with their meals and finished their dishes. My husband, in particular, enjoyed the short rib that the server recommended to him. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I wish I'd gotten our server's name because she was the right balance of attentive, funny, and patient. We'll return on future visits to Canton. read more

Came here on business for a dinner after work with some colleagues. It's a little upscale but not too much. They had table cloths and cloth napkins. We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. The waitress brought some gluten free bread for me after I asked for a GF menu. It was similar to pizza crust and was rather enjoyable. I ordered the steak, garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The spinach was far too creamy. It seemed like mostly milk. The garlic potatoes were really good but my steak (ordered med rare) was way over cooked. It was medium at best. I was definitely disappointed in the steak. For a higher dollar place, it wasn't worth it to me. A colleague got the lasagna and it was huge and he liked it. So if you can eat lasagna and are really hungry, that's a good go to. We went for a drive and ended up at this really nice restaurant. Having been there once when it was dark I did not appreciate the beauty that surrounds this establishment. The large windows enables one to bask in the natural surroundings. Upon entering we were asked if we had a reservation, we did not. The dark haired young lady at the reception desk made us feel less than welcome. She told us to take a seat in the atrium. We did and were seated by a very pleasant young lady with blond hair. Everyone, we encountered after the first young lady, was extremely pleasant. Our waiter's name was Jason. He was friendly and very professional. Our food was delicious! Went for dinner tonight with friends. I'd been here once before and sat outside when it was warmer (which is gorgeous!), but the inside atmosphere is very nice as well. They brought complimentary bread to the table which was nice, but honestly underwhelming. The rolls themselves had a sweetness to them but were accompanied by an herbed butter which didn't quite go, in my opinion. I had the house salad (meh) and the cheesy potato soup (delicious!!). Hubby had the steak and said it was tough on the outside and undercooked in the middle but loved the mashed potatoes. We had a phenomenal experience working with them for a private event reservation. We reserved the terrace room for a bridal shower and the experience was wonderful. The staff were professional, kind and attentive. The buffet style dinning and mimosa bar were regularly restocked by the staff and delicious. The mimosa bar even included a beautiful display of fresh fruit to add to the drinks! The tiramisu dessert cups were a great and worthwhile addition. I've always heard wonderful things about The Twisted Olive. I was surprised to go there and find that it is located in a remote area just north of Canton. The property is big and beautiful. While they have free valet parking, we decided to just park our car since there was ample parking very close by. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We had one and still had to wait a few minutes. The restaurant is lovely with high ceilings and wood work. I'd love to see it during the daytime and especially during the warmer months. I hear there's a pond outside and seating on a patio. Our waiter was phenomenal. I wish I remembered his name to mention it here. He was so friendly and efficient. He made food recommendations and because of his recommendations I ordered a Strawberry and Brie salad. It had cashews and raisins and was delicious! I also ordered a Blanco Pizza which had garlic, oil, cheese, spinach and ricotta. I added grilled chicken to it as well and it was the perfect addition. I took a substantial portion of my food home. I can't forget about the Meanie Bellini that I ordered as well. It was a slightly sweet and very tasty drink. The Twisted Olive has been a favorite for years but I hadn't visited since the start of Covid-19. I was very impressed with the precautions they are taking to keep patrons safe. No more waiting or queueing in the lobby for a table. Everyone must wait outside or in their car. Tables are nicely spaced out and dividers have been added between the booths. All of the staff members we saw were wearing masks and we observed good cleaning protocols when cleaning the tables. The food is still top notch. I recommend a starter of the brussel sprouts while you review the menu for dinner choices. The portions are generous and you'll likely get to have enough to take home with you.
