i fell in love with this place last year when Danielle and i had our anniversary dinner here. family had been here for an 80th birthday a few years ago and raved about it so we were excited to go and my inner cheapskate loved that it was incredibly reasonably priced. seriously, they could get away with charging considerably more based on the the ambiance, service and food. this year i requested to go for my birthday and so we did. Danielle had salmon and I had the lasagna again (we'd had a late lunch so we skipped the appetizer). the bread that comes with your meals is the softest bread you'll ever have. the meals, as with last time, were delicious. service was great. the farmhouse ale was delicious as was, i'm told, Danielle's sangria. our server brought me a complimentary birthday gelato and Danielle decided to try the dessert special - a blueberry smores tart. i had my doubts (i don't like smores or blueberries) but it was quite nice. can't wait for the next visit. read more

The food was average. The meatloaf in a puff pastry was sitting under a heat lamp. I asked the server if I could do half and half toppings on the pizza and she said you can do full and 1 item half, "because it will confuse our cooks and they can't handle it". What?! They can't handle 1/2 sausage, 1/2 mushroom? The dough was raw, undercooked and it was bad. The crispy brus. sprouts were the best item. You pay a lot for an underwhelming experience. read more

Beautiful ambiance with a lake and pretty landscaping outside. We started with the calamari and the loaded potato chips. Both were really good. I chose the seared shrimp salad as my entree and it was good. That creamy avacado dressing is out of this WORLD. A little thinner than guacamole, but a little thicker than mayo, it was creamy, flavorful and fantastic. I stole some of my nephew's french fries, and they were pretty tasty too. Fresh and perfectly seasoned. My mom had the meatloaf in the puff pastry and she liked it as well. Dad had a salad with a humongous piece of salmon that he really enjoyed. I had a bad experience here the last time i came but i thought i would give it a second chance. The restaurant is beautiful in a 16,000 sq ft renovated space that use to be a vacation home. The drinks have always been good here too. The food, not so much. We ordered the bianco pizza and when it came out it tasted and smelled inorganic like burnt plastic mixed with a detergent. They made a new pizza for us and it wasnt much better. I ordered a Caesar salad and it was good, hard to mess up. My scallops and potatoes were average at best. The staff is very nice and the servers are wonderful, i just am not a fan of the food. read more

As a person with Celiacs, this place made it very accommodating. They have a special gluten-free menu that's color coded with almost as many gf options as the regular menu. I enjoyed the complimentary pre meal gluten-free pita bread; this is very rare for restaurants. I thank them personally for making it very simple to eat gluten-free there which made my night out special. read more

Woah, this place is amazing! I first arrived on property and it didn't even feel like I was in Ohio. The lake and beautiful trees in the background of the restaurant sold me. My first time at the restaurant was for a private party. The service was exquisite and the food was so great, that's all we talked about all night. The server breezed through our table of 10 Food was a touch hit or miss at the price; in my humble opinion, was frankly overpeppered across the board (look at pictures, especially our scallops). Must-Try: - Spinach fettuccini. Great fresh pasta with bright vegetables. The chicken was a bit dry. - Spicy sausage penne. Not special, but done quite well - Meatball appetizer. Bright clean flavors with pleasant gooey cheese - Risotto stuffed peppers Wouldn't Recommend: - Lobster ravioli with scallops: The scallops were a nice size, were well cooked, but overpeppered. The cream sauce was on the bland side and the ravioli filling a touch pasty. The scallops were worth it, the rest less so. read more

I've been here three times and each time has been absolultely scrumptious. Located in a remote area just North of Canton, the Twisted Olive location is both huge and gorgeous. The Twisted Olive is basically Gervasi's sister, serving up great food, views, and their delicious wine! Their bar is fully stocked with all your beverage needs but if you're looking for a drink AND a snack, look no further than their Blood Mary (specifically their Twisted Olive Bloody Mary Experience). This massive item comes with a meatball sandwich, stuffed olives, and a bottle of their farmhouse ale. YEAH DUDE. Speaking of their meatballs, which I highly recommend you getting, are v e r y yummy. I got three naked classic beef metaballs that are covered with marinara and mozeralla cheese. Delicious and filling! Their french onion soup is also one of my favorites along with their flatbreads! The selection of drinks includes some craft options that you should try. We were seated quickly. The food arrived sooner than we expected for a party of 8. The grounds are very well maintained and add to the tranquillity. ** Con **. Portions are small. Don't expect to share or have leftovers if you have a moderate appetite. My entree didn't include a salad or bread. That would have probably helped fill the belly. ** Pro **. Good wait staff. Brussel sprouts, ZinZin, + all the other food . Made reservations in advance only to be given the worst seat in the house. Found the food to be mediocre at best, over salted and basically forgettable. Not bad if the prices were reasonable but for over 100 dollars for a couple I expect a lot more. Would have rather cooked at home. Overheard hostesses directing people to awful oversunny tables saying "I've got a great seat for you near the window". After asking for a non sunny weekend table, guests were left alone to pull the shades down themselves. With little relief, I listened to 4 guests complain about the seating and sunburn. Many other seats were available. I am a local and don't plan to return to any Gervsasi establishments until customer service and food quality improves. The one highlight was the wine. Went here for a business lunch and the staff was very accommodating. We had a group of five and were put in our own private area. The clients were very impressed with the food and service. I had the beef tips and others had the lobster ravioli. Every item was top notch and delicious. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion, as I have not been disappointed. You can also purchase bottles of wine to take with you, which I usually do, as I enjoy a glass of fine wine. Many of the wines are sourced from the restaurant's vineyard. read more

The location and grounds are absolutely on point... just so we'll done in and out. However, the food looks good and is presented well, but the flavors and seasoning are so lacking... it really detracted from my experience. We both had the Caesar Salad, my colleague added protein with the Salmon. Croutons we bland, salad was ICE cold as was the ample layer of shaved cheese. When anything is served that cold, the first to vanish is flavor... in needs to breath a bit so the oils in the food can hit pallet. The salmon was cooked to perfectly but seasoned poorly. We also shared the naked meatballs dish... again meat and sauce just so poorly flavored. Not bad, just Blah and unremarkable. The beauty and physical qualities of the twisted olive are undermined entirely by the food, which is a disappointment of the nth degree. Food this blah doesn't need this kind level of atmosphere. Hubby has mentioned coming here several times, but I put him off until he mentioned it on a day when we were dressed a little better than T-shirt's and jeans and I'm glad we did! It is a beautiful venue. As you turn off of Massillon Rd you follow a winding lane to a wonderful lodge in the woods. They asked if we had reservations but at 4:20 on a Tuesday afternoon, who would have thought to have made one? Regardless, they seated us quickly at a table by a window that looked out over their deck and a pond in the middle of a grassy area surrounded by trees. In every season, it would be a beautiful view. Right now it was a little desolate but I was rewarded by spotting two deer along the tree line. Upon check in I rated this place two $, but in my world, it needs to be rated at Three $. Over $100 for 2 salads, 2 entrees and a half bottle of wine & tip, is a bit steep in my book. I will say that everything was special and top notch. I had the dinner sized apple & fig salad over a pile of specialty greens, candied nuts and the most interestingly creamy and sweetened feta cheese. TERRIFIC! My main dish was the Orange glazed salmon, mashed potatoes with leeks, and the veggie of of the day, green beans. Even they were special, cooked but still with a certain crunch to them. Our waiter was very helpful with choosing a wine and helping me select the entree too! ( I couldn't decide). Funny though, as nice, fancy and elegant as this place is, they broke my one cardinal rule about restaurants "Don't rush me!" They brought my entree before I finished my salad! Why? Such a beautiful venue with a trendy indoor space and an outdoor space where you can take in the beautiful views of the pond and trees and especially sunset. I was happy to be able to bring my baby here and be in a large group for a wonderful family dinner. Really liked the martinis and appetizers. The crispy Brussels sprouts and nachos were really tasty and flavorful. The bread. The bread is so so good and it's hard not to fill up on the bread and butter. I had the Napoli pizza which I wasn't thrilled about but it was still good. A little too greasy I thought. Oh. My. Goodness. This is our favorite spot for anniversaries and special occasions. They are a bit pricey (for what we are used to) but it's worth it. Their drink specials are good and I absolutely recommend the happy hour (see pic). Nice rustic ambiance inside with both a patio and a basement bar. The drinks are unique ever changing and delish! Most recently we went with a group of friends and service was above and beyond. The one couple was running behind pushing us close to their closing time and you would never guess it. The waitress we had was the sweetest. You almost have to have reservations. Very good food, clean enviorment, great staff. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the loaded fries. I also had the Napoli which was very good, I loved the balsamic on it. My boyfriend had the Bianco which he did not like... I thought it was ok. A little too much garlic for our taste, our server took it off the bill for us. So my first visit here as I live in Houston... coming in for a family dinner on a Friday night and this place was nothing less than stunning! I'm a foodie I do fine dining all over the states while traveling and this is my new favorite in Ohio! We started with Nick our server who was not only well informed on the entire menu but was seriously some of the best service I've had! We had the Brussel sprouts and Jerk wings to start followed with the Strip Steak- Scallops- Braised Ribs- and Mac n Cheese (there were 4of us)! Everything was absolutely amazing coming from the kitchen! Punctual timing the food was savory and didn't need any extra like salt and pepper it was perfect! The house wines are abundant so we had a great little shopping adventure as we left but let me say this.... GO HERE! But I was just denied entry because I wasn't wearing a mask when I have an exemption, even though I've been here 6 times since the mandate started and never had an issue.
