Very good breakfast, good service, and reasonable prices. Be sure to get there before 10:45am as they have an iron rule on serving breakfast only before that time. Otherwise, a couple warnings - 1) waffles taste like they use pancake batter - some people like that - Im not the biggest fan and 2) they do not (as far as I know) offer real maple syrup - ashamed as there are some good producers of maple syrup not too far from Ephrata PA. The food and service is good. My complaint is that I witnessed the food prep person cut and handle meats without using gloves. He wiped his hands on the same towel his used to wipe the food prep counter and meat slicer. On another occasion I witness him dipping his bare hand in a large mixing bowl. Nice open building with high ceilings. We went there around noon, and the staff seemed a little underprepared for a crowd, which on assuming happens every day anyway. The server seemed nice enough but was more concerned about asking us if the check would be split than to tell us her name. The portions were smaller than most places, but a great idea when it comes to upselling; you save room for their house-made ice cream. The sweet tea was nice, and refills were free, which was a plus. I had a reuben for lunch, which came with kettle chips and some pickle slices. It was delicious. The beef refused to tear apart so it was messy, but the cooks can't help that. I got a small peanut butter swirl sundae which came topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry. It was a perfect size, and delicious. The meal was nicely priced, $10.60 for two courses and a drink. I'm sure I'll be going again. read more

There was plenty of space and busy for lunch at 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Our waitress was very nice. All the young people seemed like they were working hard. Our sandwiches and soups were delicious and our party of 4 enjoyed everything we ordered. We all ordered dessert as well. It was good but the ice cream didn't have a strong flavor and the toppings were a little overdone so as you couldn't enjoy the ice cream as much. After coming to the Udder Choice for years, we were extremely disappointed in the service. Our waitress took our order and the order of a gentleman near us at the same time. We waited for close to 45 minutes and never received our food. The gentleman that was near us was just about finished eating and our waitress never came back to us or anything. We both ordered one of the specials so it should have been out relatively fast. We walked out past our waitress and she saw us leave and still said nothing. I don't know if we will ever come back.
