Been here several times, usually for a special occasion. Made 6:30 reservations on a Thursday night. They weren't that busy, and we sat at the bar, waiting for our other guests. Ordered a couple of specialty cocktails (Old Fashioned and Pisco Pear Sour). We got to see the bartender making them with great attention and artistry. They were both excellent. The bar area and dining room have a nice supper club feel to it. It's upscale but not stodgy. There are plenty of different areas to sit, the tables are well spaced and the noise level is decent. After getting settled in were able to take our time ordering. The server did a great job, explaining the specials and answering our questions. We started with the Mushroom Tart appetizer. While waiting, we got a basket of bread. It was amazing. Warm thorough and crust was excellent. The appetizer came out in good time, nice portion, flaky crust, and perfect temperature. A bit hit with the group. The entrees including: Blue Crab Special, the Red Deer Special, Scallops and Short Rib. Everything was the perfect temperatures, nice size portions and nicely seasoned. The Red Deer Special was so good, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Had just enough room, so we all shared the Carrot Cake. Moist, with a generous amount of frosting, and several candies carrots. Just enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. Overall, another excellent meal. The atmosphere, service and food quality were all top notch. We will be back.

The Union House is the best place for a Christmas night. The lighting and ambiance is very romantic. My husband and I had a quaint little booth I. The corner by the fireplace. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. Now mind you it was completely booked and the bar was full of waiting people. This time of year you must have a reservation. Our reservation was at 5:00, we were promptly seated. Our waiter was with us quickly and drinks were ordered. We enjoyed the huckleberry and the amaretto sour. The amaretto sour was so good my husband had two. Followed up with a bowl of soup each and our entrees. Both the lobster bisque and the French onion soup were top notch. I had the short rib which was delicious served over puréed potatoes and my husband had the seafood lobster special of stuffed shells which wasn't quite as tasty as he had hoped. We had a very enjoyable time and someday will be back.

Tucked into the heart of a busy small town, this restaurant manages to balance the charm of a cozy local favorite with the energy of a bustling hot spot. From the moment you walk in the atmosphere that feels both lively and welcoming. Despite the constant flow of diners, the staff remains attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of the experience they deliver. The food is where this place truly shines. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared--fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and generous portions It's the kind of menu where you catch yourself planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. We had 2023 CHARDONNAY EDNA VALLEY wine, (my personal favorite), Scallops, and for dessert, the lemon crème brûlée. 5 star experience. My fiancé David and I will be back soon!

Best place to go for a celebration dinner. Staff and food and wine list and cocktails are amazing. Professional inside and out. Highly recommend to anyone!

First off I have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile.... I made a reservation a week ahead of time. When we got to the restaurant we were sat immediately. This place is very small so the bar area fills up quickly! I ordered Prosecco and my husband ordered an old fashioned. The old fashioned was strong but not muddled. To eat I had the 8 oz filet ($60) with mashed potatoes and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was amazing. The steak, which I ordered medium, came medium rare basically. I have a fear of sending steaks back so I didn't send it back. It was still mooing though. My husband's tbone ($68) was not good. He said there was a ton of fat on it. He had the blue cheese on top and said it was too much. There were no desserts that looked good so we didn't order any. I will not eat here again. For four people our bill was $400. I can go to 5 o'clock steakhouse or carnevore and get a better meal for around the same price.

We went to Union House in Genesee for dinner and I had made a reservation using open table, but the Union House in Genesee didn't have the reservation. It turns out that there's more than one Union House so you have to make sure which restaurant you're reserving the table. Even though our reservation didn't exist they accommodated the 2 of us and the food was superb once again. The potato puree was the best that I have ever tasted, and both proteins were cooked to perfection. Yes, we would order them again, because that's really the best question regarding any restaurants food, in my opinion.

This place is delicious! It is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. You feel luxurious being here! They make a mean old fashion to start but also have a great wine list. The potato options are also all good! The special side was macaroni and cheese and that was out of this world gooey goodness. My steak was done perfectly! Can't wait to wine and dine here again!

great food, great cocktails, friendly service and a wonderful setting made our dinner with friends a five star dinner! we selected a variety of menu items ranging from soups and salads to nightly specials, which was an antelope burger to the short rib entree. my only regret is that we aren't staying in town longer so we could visit this gem a second time!

A huge THANK YOU to The Union House for helping make my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary absolutely memorable! My husband emailed Dan, the General Manager, a few weeks in advance alerting him to the anniversary celebration for our party of six. He was more than happy to help us making the evening special. We asked if he would be able to help create a special experience by having a cake brought to the table at the end of the evening. Dan and the staff went above and beyond our expectations! On Friday evening, we were immediately greeted and the special couple was congratulated once they confirmed our reservation. We were immediately seated and our waitress, Jessica greeted us with excitement and true joy to help us make the night special. The staff had cards at the table as well congratulating them on their anniversary, which was such an appreciated touch. Jessica did an amazing job explaining the menu and helping our party feel welcome in the beautiful space. Drinks and dinner were amazing and there was only appreciation for all the dishes. Seriously, the chef did an amazing job creating the variety of dishes we had. At the end of the meal, Jessica brought out a beautiful cake that the staff baked in house! Overall, an absolutely amazing experience that we couldn't be happier to have chosen The Union House to celebrate at.

Of the bookmarks I had within reasonable driving distance, Sideliners Pub & Grill intrigued me the most. I ended up ordering the three piece beer battered perch with potato pancakes for the side and wings for an appetizer with half Cajun dry rub and half Jamaican BBQ jerk sauce. I thought it was interesting that the jerk sauce was specifically labeled as "Jamaican BBQ jerk" and it ended up being an accurate description. It was more BBQ flavored than jerk flavored and had almost no heat to it like jerk normal does. The Cajun rub, on the other hand, had great heat and Cajun flavor. The jerk sauce wasn't bad, but my preference was the Cajun rub. In a picture I saw of the potato pancakes they looked like they were Italian breaded, similar to mozzarella sticks. Again, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't live up to my expectations. The breading didn't have much Italian seasoning and the pancakes were like mashed potatoes formed into disks rather than more common potato pancakes that are shredded potato flavored with onion. The pancakes were my least favorite part of the meal. The perch didn't taste like yellow lake perch and was probably something cheaper like pike perch. Even though I did like the beer batter, it wasn't exactly was I was hoping for when I ordered perch, but it wasn't bad.

It was about 12:30 in the afternoon and I ordered the calamari appetizer, fillet and scallops with baked potato and steamed broccoli. My husband ordered onion rings for his appetizer, a small cheese and sausage pizza (he tries the pizza everywhere he goes) and a gyro sandwich. I honestly can't remember ever having a meal where every thing I ordered was prepared absolutely perfect and tasted amazing!! The Calamari was tender and delicious served with marinara and Parmesan, the onion rings were big, thick and delicious! The salad that came with our meal was not average by any means. It had tomato, cucumber and croutons, and not just one piece of each either! And the honey mustard dressing was really really good. I ordered my steak rare and it was very tender, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! The scallops melted in my mouth, again cooked perfectly. Oh, and the baked potato! I don't know why it was so good but it was perfectly cooked, tasted fresh and wasn't sitting in an oven too long making the skin hard. It was fluffy, buttery and probably the best baked potato I've ever had! I almost liked it better than the steak! The broccoli was steamed perfectly, bright green and crisp tender. My husband loved his pizza, it had a good amount of cheese and sausage on it, and the crust was nice and thin and crispy. He said the gyro was just average. We wanted to sit in a little more private area at the booth in the corner facing the lake, but it was taken when we got there. They were kind enough to let us move there after the people that were sitting there left. All in all it was a very good experience and we felt like were treated as if we were regulars. First time here…read more Food: There was a menu board near the entrance showing several holiday themed items, including pumpkin spiced pancakes and waffles. I like a good waffle, and they had a couple of variations on the menu. I asked if it was Belgian style, with the deep pockets to capture all that extra butter and syrup, and it was. It came out nice and hot. For me it was a bit too soft, as I tend to like my waffles cooked a little crispier, similar to how I like my potato pancakes. Still very tasty. My friend ordered the House Omelet, which was also very good. Service: Everyone was super friendly and helpful. As soon as I arrived, they acknowledged me and let me know I could sit anywhere. They were patient while we chatted and were not focused on the menu right away. Great service throughout the entire meal. They kept checking in to make sure I had hot water for my tea and refills of coffee. Thanks, Symara (sp?). Atmosphere: The place is small and cozy, with a counter, tables, and booths. It was about half full, with individuals and pairs spread throughout the room. You could tell this is a spot with regulars, as people were chatting between tables. The decor was festive with holiday decorations. There is a TV on the wall showing the morning news, but it did not appear to have the volume on. Near the entrance there are a couple of video poker machines. I am not a fan of those. I find them distracting to look at and annoying when someone is playing them.
